I broke my board last night on a flatground fake tre ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

8x32 Generator pressed board that I spray painted

The more I skate these DC’s the more I think that I made a mistake all those years ago skating vulcs and thin cupsoles
[close]

How long did they take to break in? I have a pair and skated them twice and retired them. Maybe I gave up on them too soon.
they seemed to break in fairly fast, but it took me maybe 3 or 4 days to fully get used to the sole. I did a bunch of kickflips in them for the first few days to help get used to them. I bought more pairs when they went on sale for Presidents’ Day weekend

Yeah the soles were really messing with me, but I loved the shape of the toebox. I will give them another shot when my Nikes are toast. Thanks for the feedback!

My board feels heavy, it's a 8.75 lance mountain flip board with a 14'' WB. I don't know if it's me pr what but the board feels super heavy and makes me feel super lazy. Like all I want to do is slappy on it, that's what feels best on it. When I fs 180 it feels strange compared to my Popsicle. I'm gonna set up my Popsicle and do a comparison.

Alien Visitor 8.125" Matte finish
1995 Venture 5.0 V light lows (green bushing era)
wheels are some 50mm Cockaroach 99A from around 2000. Brand went under
bearings are unknown w shields removed/cleaned and lubed. I think very old swiss.
Hardware is old shorties 7/8
Jessup Ultra

All oldschool setup of spare parts and I love these old ventures. Deck is so nice in person with the matte finish I almost want to hang it and not skate it.
very nice setup

Do you know the WB? I was looking at a slave 8.38 but decided against because I couldn’t find WB listed anywhere. Shape looks great, love the tail.

Sweet Skateboards - 8.0 x 31.8 x 14.25
Thunder Lights 147
Square Wheels
Assorted bearings and hardware

Set this up because I was lazy to grip a board and had this from a 2nd hand setup I got. Rode decently but nothing special. Switched it up with Ventures but that made the pop heavier than I liked. Took it apart and decided to sell the board.

Primitive 8.25 x 31.875 x 14.00
Venture 5.2 Hi V-Hollow
Bones 52mm V1 103a
Bones Racing Reds
Grizzly Grip
Assorted bolts

Finally managed to get the board closer to what I was looking for, guess I'm a Venture bitch now. Pop is not as explosive as I would like but I skated this morning so my legs are pretty jelly. 8.25 feels way too big for me after riding 8.0 for a while. Things got a little weird going from Venture Lo to Hi, I'll see how that pans out over the week.

Think my foray into larger board sizes has come to an end. 8 x 32 x 14 is my jam, but that size is pretty hard to find (Magenta). If anyone knows any larger brands that cater this size, let me know.
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

It’s generator so probably the same as a classic eagle anti hero, 14.5

DOA flat as fuck 7.5 14"wb
Independent stage 7 136
Spitfire 53 now 51s though with swiss 6
Bronze hardware
Jessup.
Reebok workout plus sz12

Makes me wonder why i rode bigger boards. Smaller decks force me to do my tricks properly and I'm more consistent cause of it. Too bad there isn't many choices for 7.5 or 7.75.

For sure, I’m loving it so far. I had an 8.8 Scram that felt similar, but otherwise it seems pretty hard to find these dimensions with a steep concave, kicks, etc...

It could just be the lighting or the angle but your front truck looks to have a pretty badly bent axle.

Yeah, its the angle. I took the pic when the trucks werent fully fastened so a lil crooked. Trucks are still solid after 25 years.

So nice! I want to pull the trigger on a 7.5 or 7.75 so bad, those sizes were all I used when I was younger. But now that I'm older and 190 lbs. it's probably a bad idea.
