DOA flat as fuck 7.5 14"wb
Independent stage 7 136
Spitfire 53 now 51s though with swiss 6
Bronze hardware
Jessup.
Reebok workout plus sz12

Makes me wonder why i rode bigger boards. Smaller decks force me to do my tricks properly and I'm more consistent cause of it. Too bad there isn't many choices for 7.5 or 7.75.

So nice! I want to pull the trigger on a 7.5 or 7.75 so bad, those sizes were all I used when I was younger. But now that I'm older and 190 lbs. it's probably a bad idea.
[close]

I weigh 230 and have size 12 feet. I was riding a 7.5  AWS and no problem what so ever and i stomp my shit. I haven't skated the DOA,rolled my ankle bad skating on my lunch break. But this DOA has a badass shape.
Well in that case, I will pick one up. Thanks for the help man and I hope that ankle heals up quick!

If anything start with 775 which is what i did. Sizing down to 7.5 doesn't feel bad. My main problem was finding the right truck combo. Also the weight. I had it too light and it felt weird. I put these heavy indys on this 7.5 and it flips great. Perfect balance

It’d go great with my “Watch The Bob Newhart Show” sticker.

Nice, I'll be interested to see how the Venture 5.2 Hi handle the shorter board and WB. I got a Real Full SE with the same dimensions coming soon and Venture fever, hope they work out good.

I felt like it didn’t hinder me too much, it’s a IV stamped one so it’s the most mellow in the press. More me getting used to it than anything. I think if I woulda went with a forged plate that would have been too much. A little more tail would be nice but it was  a surprisingly painless session for a new truck

Primitive 8.25
Venture 5.6 with Forged Baseplate (Hollow Kingpin)
Bones 52mm V1 103a
Bones Super Reds
Assorted bolts
Girizzly Grip

Got the board barely used and wanted to give sizing up 1 last try. Board-wise I'm finding 8.25 too chunky, flips are a lot slower and it can be hard to find larger trucks in my country. Slides are great on the bigger nose / tail with blunter kicks. I'm still not getting the pop I want from Ventures, I may swap out the forged baseplate to a cast one to see if that helps compensate for the bigger board. I think I will stick in the 8 - 8.125 range, maybe a little shorter with a tighter WB. Glad I didn't splurge on a 8.25 board on discount at Skatewarehouse.

Ventures are my new favorite truck, great pinch, baseplate slide and turning once the stock bushings are worn in. The wider trucks feels great on grinds, I have so much room for activities on the ledge. Unfortunately the trucks were brand new so I was slipping out on my grinds initially, but BS 5-0s felt so good on a wider hanger. The 2 things I didn't like were truck height (the Lo pinches nicer) and the heaviness of the board when it hit my shins and ankles.

Looking to try a smaller wheel, preferably a Bones V3 Easy Street. If anyone has a pair for sale let me know.

this shape is so sick, and brad is one of the coolest.
This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Mine are super sluggish - bought them as seasonals for skating through the wet fall-spring.

They've served their purpose but I'm eager to get back on big balls when the weather's nice.

I was about to pick one of these up but didn't really think it made sense to rock it with 8.5 inch axles because of the heavy taper. How does it feel for you? Doesn't look near as bad as I thought it would.

It's about the same as running a 8.25 with 149/5.8 Trucks , so pretty manageable , haven't been able to get a proper session yet but cruising and ollieing up curbs has been a breeze

Just set up the MAnderson 8.38 custom shape with the squared full nose and some ventures. Love it but that shape looks amazing and would really make flip tricks pretty good, pretty pretty good.
flat spotted 3 times in 2 weeks, other than that awesome wheels

DOA Strings Deck 8.25
Thunder lights 149
Spitfire f4 classics, 55mm

I bought this deck when it was on sale in December. If I recall correctly, it was about $35 shipped.  This is pressed by South Central.  The wood is super stiff and incredibly snappy.  It doesn't seem like it will get soggy anytime soon, if ever.  The DOA website will have new models available for sale on March 20th. Definitely something to look into.

In your opinion are South Central boards stiffer than BBS? I went from BBS to PSStix and the board feels mushy. I feel like I don't get as good a snap on my Quasi compared to the Hockey deck I was riding before.
