Zero 9.5
Venture 5.8
Slimeball 54mm 97a

Thanks man I haven't been so excited about a setup in a very long time.
[close]

Perfect setup right down to the orange wheels slimeballs.
Can we get a top pic?
How does the zero feel? I am interested in those 9.5s
Thanks its my first big board in a very long time, it is fairly easy to flip compared to the olden days shaped boards. It is not bbs but it has a pretty decent pop to it. I will take a top pic and report back.

Doomsayers 8.28x 31.63x 14
Random Black Griptape
Thunder 7/8 Allen
Indy 149 Hollow Orange aftermarket bushings
F4 99a Classics 54mm
Bones Swiss 6

My favorite setup so far eventhough indy as a company sucks! Tried Ace, Thunder and Venture on severall decks but couldn't get either one of them to my liking.

Had one of these when they first started, and really liked it. Probably the last board I really liked actually. Short wb, short length. Perfect.

Dommsayers seems to have great shapes and good graphics.  I totally understand the Indy sentiment.  I switched over to Thunders for a bit and they were fantastic on certain decks.  I find that Indy's work best for me on decks with steep kicks. I am currently on a 5boro (South Central woodshop) that is pretty steep.  That deck definitely feels lighter and easier to pop/more agile on Indys.

It's the same for me. I have skated a Blood Wizard deck before, though the measurements seemed right it was just too flat for me.

I set this board up at the beginning of quarantine and it feels really good, especially since I've been skating more lately. I've missed skating shaped boards! The first photo is from after my first session, and the second one is today.

8.75 shaped Thaynan Costa Enjoi
Mob M80 grip
149 standard Independents
54mm F4s
Bones Reds
Mostly skating the Spanky G6s now, but the Fastbreaks still have some life

Not sure if I want to go with Ace 44 on this one. Anyone experimented with both?

I was going between 44s and 149s in the fall. 44s with 1/8" risers have a similar pop feel to Indy, but the turn is deeper. 44s without risers are a little lower with quicker pop. I really like both.

Also going between the two feels really natural, no where near as wild as going between Indy and Venture (and I assume Thunder).

I skate so many eagles that it's hard to compare, but I'm pretty sure the kicks are just on the mellow side of medium.

They're not pointy. They might seem pretty full to people who have skated pointy boards before, but I'm pretty sure they're in the realm of average. To me, they're the perfectly regular popsicle to return to after experimenting with other shapes. It always feels comfortable.

I’m going to go covid cruise the neighborhood on my 44s. I liked 33s, loved the way they look. 44s are the size where I start losing tricks. Because I’m a baby. But not a baby with their life ahead of them. I feel like o get less pop with ACE. Love the turn.

I absolutely love the way they look, I like the way they grind. I had a set years ago, probably 1st gen's, that I beat the shit out of and performed well for me until the axle bent. Had those replaced, but while I was waiting for the new set I was skating thunders, new set came and I had already adjusted to thunders and the ACE felt like too much of a learning curve to go back to so I stayed on thunder for years and then to Venture once they came out with the 5.8.

The dislikes with ACE - Ghost pop, the sound (makes my setup sound hollow, soggy, just not crispy), I don't think they work with the Quasi shape I enjoy and since I have about 9 in my stockpile to burn through I'm stuck in a cycle, I don't like how much attention/maintenance they require (base plate hole blow out, loose kingpins, still not confident they fixed the bending axles, bushings, pivot cups)

With thunder and venture I would toss in Bones medium bushings and skate them into the ground. The only thing I would have to do was re thread the axles every other set of wheels or so.

Figured I would give them another go since I haven't skated since the first week of March or so, not as much muscle memory focused on the trucks functioning.
