(won't include a photo yet since it's a 2nd hard Element board and covered with shitty Monster Energy stickers, I'll post it up once I slides through all the shit stickers)

Element Appleyard 8.0 (PS Stix)
Venture 5.2 V-Hollow Lo
Bones Easy Streets V3 53mm
Bones Swiss
Assorted hardware

Got the basically new board to try out PS Stix and so far I'm liking the mellower concave and shorter WB (8 x 31.75 x 14.25). Flips are coming so much easier versus 8.18-8.25. Getting so much wheelbite with lower trucks and 53mm wheels, I may go 51 on stands STF wheels since I'm not really feeling the Easy Streets.

Decent session after not skating for close to 2 months.
Venture Truck Height:

5.0 & 5.2 LO
STANDARD - 1.88” - 47.75mm
FORGED - 1.85”- 46.99mm

5.0 ,5.2, 5.6, 5.8 & 6.1 HI
STANDARD - 2.09” - 53.09mm
FORGED - 2.04” - 51.82m

Sorry my dog got in the way.

I was just looking at the Krooked catalog and saw that board. I know it's a custom shape but the AWS type blunt nose is the only thing that looked different about it? Is that basically it? I'll probably never even see it in person and I can't quite tell with the doggie in the pic.

Dude the board dims are all over the place for this drop. 8.06 with a 14.4WB? Who the fuck is skating that? This run so crazy.

Yeah it’s fucked. Like who skates an 8 with a 14.4 WB?!  It’s so weird. I was just talking about this. I stopped skating DLX boards for a min because of it but with it hard to find boards this was one of the only normal shapes I could get at my local shop.
Between the shape and wb, and now the concave numbed dlx boards are a head case. I prefer the quasi shape and concave but no one has them now.

Trucks: The Tensors feel a bit too high(how can a couple mm make such a difference?) but they make it a little lighter(on the scale) though it's not really noticeable in hand compared to thunders, hopefully under my feet it will be. Oh yeah, there was something very unpleasant about setting up the trucks when tightening the nuts for the wheels it made a very cheap sound i've never gotten from trucks. The finishing on the hanger looks and feels very smooth, but the color on the baseplate feels really like it's about to peel off and very cheap. Might be because it's the "Stencil" edition. The bushings feel awful from testing in my kitchen, but hey new trucks!?!
Biggest worry about the new set-up!

First off sweet setup. Wanted to chime in regatding the atg maglites as Ive had the 5.75s a while now. First, I agree, I hated the stock bushings and swapped to bones hardcore and it was day and night and highly reccomend. The other person on the board I know with these uses the stock bushing and bones top or flat washer. I tried that and think the bones hardcore feel better for me.

Now that "cheapness" feel...I actually studied this out but youll notice that the same wheels on an indy or typical big 3 truck vs same wheels on a maglight sounds different when you let go of the tail and it drops. Less deep and less of a thud. This is because the magnesium alloy they use. It is stiffer and has a higher resonant frequency than aluminum alloy used in typical trucks. Like if you had a bell made of typcal Thunder material and one of maglite, the maglight will have more more highpitched ring and the thunder would have a lower more bassy ring.  The magnesium is also rigid and rides a little "harder" and less forgiving than aluminum, though slightly. However, they tend to feel softer than most trucks when grinding wih less resistance. The different sound these trucks create can be offputting, and the board amplifies it when landing a trick but I dont care anymore and its no big deal.

Overall, they take some getting used to but once you have, theyre the best trucks out there to me. Unless you prefer a heavier weight like ace or indy. Let us know what you think now but def try the bones hardcore bushings if you havent.

I actually figured out the wb was 14.12 reading through the thread (I'm like a month behind) but I appreciate the clarification. There was a poster from Russia I think who had a Raney Beres board in that size about a month ago and they listed it as 14.12 so it all made sense. I remember that you're also a fan of the Yinzer shape which I also really dig. 14.25 is fine but I'll take something shorter if I can get it.
[close]

Doom sayers has an 8.25" x 32"  with 14" wb, but it looks like they also have alternate shapes of some of their graphics including an 8.28" x 32.25" 14.25" wb. Pretty confusing to be honest.

I think the mold this Terror deck is on is really common and a lot of smaller companies use it (I think it's mold 5?) but with varying dimensions. I also have a traffic deck on it and has a theories deck that was on it but 32" and I kind of hated that one for some reason.

I really wish I could find a flat BBS deck with a mellow tail. Even stuff that's labeled as "mellow" (like the baker OG) I would classify as more of a medium. I'd like something closer to the quasi PS shape or the 8.25 x 31.6 shape that Blood wizard and a lot of other brands use, but on BBS wood. I'm sure they exist but I can't recall ever actually coming across one.

I know not a popular name here, but you are decribing the Creature Coldpress decks to a T. I skate BBS pretty most of the time with some PS but these are by far the nicest feeling decks Ive had. Flat concave and mild tail and nose full dual nose/tail design. Hidden gem. Cold press version though as they use a diff adhesive process. 8.25, 8.38, 8.5 version is all that available but they sell out quick. I posted some pics of my second coldpress in the setup thread but I have never had someone who tried these say anything bad.

Partially me being a bitch and blaming my gear for shitty skateboarding, partially because I prefer their regular STF wheels for slides. It was also my first time skating a smooth concrete park in 2 month, so softer durometer just didn't feel as nice for me.

I was actually just talking to someone about how I find it hilarious that NHS seems to be marketing cold pressed decks as some kind of new and improved process when it's actually the industry standard that everyone else has been using for decades. I have considered getting one because I usually like creature graphics but have avoided them for a long time as I'm not a big fan of resin/epoxy decks. They're just too hard and heavy feeling for me.

I do like the look of that deck and I mostly skate 8.25 or 8.38 so I'll keep an eye out. Do you know if they have any shorter (31.8 and below) full shapes, preferably with a 14.25 wheelbase?

I’d been hankering for a Zip Zinger but didn’t really want to have to shell out on a full set up. Remembered I had some ancient blue Royals in the shed, attached to a Zoo York ‘Warriors’ board which was my last set up before a lengthy break from skating. I’d never got rid of it and checked the truck size and they were perfect for the Zinger. I understand coloured trucks are a no-go these days and maybe always were and that Royals are rubbish too, I originally got them as they were the cheapest in the shop, along with some Ricta seconds that were meant to have a plastic coloured ring around the hole but were missing. I’m not fussed though as this is just a fun set-up for cruising around. I also liked the fact the truck colour went with the board graphic.
Spent a while trying to decide on wheels then saw someone here recommending the Cadillacs for a Zip Zinger set up in the cruiser wheels thread and they looked perfect (thanks to whoever that was!) 78a, should be good for rough South London pavements. They even come in blue which I thought would be perfect to keep the colour theme going. Found one shop in the UK which had blue in stock, ordered them only to be contacted and told they only had the yellow, or ‘beer’ as they’re officially called, in. So I went with those and actually really like how they look on the overall set-up, especially as I decided to put the pink sticker on as well, think all blue might have been overkill. Might not be to everyone’s taste but I’m liking it.

Krooked Zip Zinger ‘Jacket Klub’ 7.75
Ancient Blue Royals (will replace bushings at some point)
Cadillac Wheels ‘Beer’ 56mm 78a
Indy 7’s bearings (would usually get Reds but these were the only thing in stock at a similar price. Seem fine so far)

Yeah I hear ya. I like these cus it has a feel like the decks in the 90's early 2000s. Little less flexy than bbs/ps stix. And not as hard/heavy as typical dwindle. I dont know much about creature as these coldpresses are the only ones Ive used (I have use r7 SC decks though)  but it turns out they just put out the new models and its very graphics heavy which isnt my style. I think the 8.25 would be the closest at 32" x 8.25 with 14.1 wb

Broke my Magenta Nils Inne board so it was time for a new setup

I bought this Hopps board from Theories of Atlantis, requested an 8.125, got an 8.38 in the mail. Normally I would've returned it but I am looking to move up in size anyway so I saw it as a sign. I am not sure of the exact dimensions but I measured it at

8.38 x 32 x wb 14.25 - Hopps Steve Brandi Polaroid
Thunder hollow lights 148
Spitfire Formula Four Classics 101a - 53mm
Bones Reds
Mob

Honestly, I know the Hopps board is bigger than my Magenta, but the hopps feels like a brick compared to the Magenta. The 2020 Woodshop thread says they both use BBS/Generator but after riding them, I would beg to differ. The Hopps feels like a BBS but the Magenta feels more like a PS Stix. I am not positive but that's just how they feel to me.

Edit: After doing some research, it seems like Hopps might be through Clutch. I forgot to check for the "K" before gripping it but it definitely feels bulky like a clutch. With that said, the Magenta most likely is still through BBS.

Interesting that A) they're still making them when someone said they were going to stop (unless they are just using up what was pressed, but this is the 3rd run) and B) that they've shortened the WB on the 8.25.

If they were a bit shorter I'd ride them all the time, great shape and feel.

Yeah that was me. I spoke to the people on the NHS site but it turns out he just didnt have any or didnt know what he was talking about as they just dropped. As well as new decks that are wide with short wheelbases. like 9" with 14.25. Not coldpressed though. Skatewarehouse has them both. We are the two Creature cold press/Tensor atg mag posting ppl but good taste.

Just retired my AWS, learned so much shit in this definitely sad to let it go, but stoked on the new board. Really excited on setting up a square wheel for the first time. Ive had Keyframes for filming but no actual sliding or doing tricks so really excited to see whats the deal. Also pretty stoked on new bolts since I hadn't changed them in atleast 5 years, and they are the De La colorway.

Could it be that Hopps might be back with Chapman ? Chapman is stiffer than any BBS i’ve ever skated.

If anything, Clutch. Chapman doesn't have a woodshop anymore and does most of their pressing through Clutch. Someone recently posted they've gotten a Hopps with a K-mold stamp IIRC.

This is what I keep hearing. I am dumb and didn't look for the K before gripping it but it definitely feels like a clutch. Thank you for clarifying.

Nice. Grip job is good too. But I be worried with that blank space messing up my Ollie's , flips etc. That's just me being insane though.
Thanks man, yeah I thought about that but tried making the space somewhat small so it wouldn't affect me as much. Hopefully it wont!

First FA board in awhile. The graphic is a little much for me but it was literally the only board in my size plus I've liked all the previous FA boards I've had. Also set up some new wheels cuz my shop got a decent shipment of F4s.

FA 8.38
Thunder 149 w/ Bones Medium Bushings
Spitfire Tablet 54 mm 99d
Bones Super Reds

That might have been me, my man! The setup looks great and I'm glad you like the wheels, I ended up liking them a lot too. Just a heads up - there's a cruiser setup thread here: https://www.slapmagazine.com/index.php?topic=38836.0

Not sure why but as a kid I ALWAYS wanted those Carolina blue royals. I would got to skateboard.com and build setups based on those trucks. Also back then I could NEVER convince my parents, why I needed a skateboard that cost over 100$ when I could get one from walmart for 19.99.

8.18" FA 14"WB
venture low 5.2 hollows
F4 tablet 99a 51MM
reds big balls bearings

its been a while since I've skated an FA , and I've only skated PSstix ones, so excited to try a generator deck. The nose is insane , feels good though .

Looks sick. I bet the lows make that nose way more manageable. Tried a Hockey with some Aces and it was just too much for me.

I'm on the same shape now. I was doubtful that I would like it as I set it up, but it has been really good.

Enjoyed the Real I had but it was missing the mark for me. Felt too small and pointy for me  :/ Shame, because I love DLX but the shape was not comfortable for me.
Switched to an AWS (BBS) I had on ice and I was pleasantly surprised at how much better I was skating and how much better it felt :D
Frankie Spears Sacred Geometry 8.5" x 32.25" (such a good length imo) x 14.25" (not sure about this WB because I didn't see it listed anywhere but it feels like other 14.25" I've had)
Mob Grip
Indy 149 standard hangar with hollow kingpin/standard baseplate
Bones STF 54mm V4 Wides. I like em but I prefer V5 every day of the week over these but I'm trying not to complain/be too picky because of product shortages :]
