First crailtap deck in a while. Haven’t had a chance to actually skate it yet, only mellow cruising cuz I’m injured, but it feels good so far. The dimensions are pretty close to Bakers 8.475 shape, which is my favorite shape of all time, so I feel like it should feel pretty good for popping and flip tricks n such. Ventures on a 31.5-32 length deck with a 14-14.25 WB is definitely in the goldie locks zone for me.

They have a lotta sizes and no OG classics. I wonder if this is meant to be a replacement? Also got a tread which seems odd

Those ones are the original or classic formula, not Formula Four, so depending on how you skate, they are the old faithful Spitfires that some people still love, or if you are more into Formula Four and never want to look back, they are the sound flatspots are made of.

I can and still ride either, but Formula Four are way better and longer lasting.
 
Also I think we are all a bit spoiled by having such good wheels nowdays in so many options of Formula Four, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love the 97a. They're the perfect wheel I think.

I pretty much just skate crust. They perform exactly like the 99s but just that bit creamier on the streets

Yessir it is the G027. Unfortunately I only have 2 stand still/2 beer buzz living room sessions on it, and the tail feels awesome. I really love the way my tre's feel with it. I know the thought of the tail being longer on a popsicle made my cringe, but visually the nose still appears longer so no worries there. I will definately report back if I can skate my local indoor sometime..somehow..someday.

Yessir it is the G027. Unfortunately I only have 2 stand still/2 beer buzz living room sessions on it, and the tail feels awesome. I really love the way my tre's feel with it. Ha yeah man, exactly what I've been stressing about. The tail being a bit longer as the nose. But can only be good for tailslides, wheelies  etc.. I think? Well not sure, alljust  theories in my head until I get one or anyone reports here.

Reminds me of the 25% less graphic AH boards from back around 2003 or so.  They were listed as pricepoint decks but they were still the same wood and skated great!

Interesting on the fully square tail, and a good time to learn tail blocks (or do more if you know how) on anything and everything.

That was actually a pretty cool trip down memory lane, board from 2015.

Anyone with venture hollow 5.6 have a favorite 8.25 deck shape/WB? Love quasi but the 14.25 WB gets pushed out an extra 3.4 inches with the hollows which is a bit much. Thinking an 8.18 fa/hockey with 14 WB would potentially be nice, as the 8.25 are 14.125 WB. Can’t really find any squared off 14 WB shapes looking online unfortunately.

This was the first time I’ve used it since, oh... 1986? All I recall about the last time was that I used it on a blank Santa Cruz Kieth Meek “Slasher” model & the grip was that 20 grit, extra chunky shit.
Fast forward to present day: I got hooked up with one of those Mob “travel packs” a little while ago & decided to see if I couldn’t use it in a non-offensive way.

Industry homey hooked it up for me.
Let’s just say, once I got my “foot in the door,” I made sure to never take it all the way out again. I’m not proud of it, but it helps keep skating affordable.

FA/Hockey 8.18 with 14” WB works great on Venture 5.6 hollow. I’m on an 8.25 Quasi (Josh Wilson pro model, a bit more rounded than square shape) with 5.6 and it’s ok. Good for flip tricks and manuals, not so much for transition but it works
