My brother was talking about getting back into skating, so a few months ago I bought him a Christmas complete with stim money. He's already lost interest and I guess it's mine now, LOL my ulterior motive all along. I have all big shaped boards right now, so I'm stoked to have a relatively small popsicle for flatground, ledges/curbs and mannys. My first pair of Ventures ever, sick to try some lighter trucks than my Indys. Not gonna lie though, the turn feels really weird... but I'll adjust to em.

Primitive Pricepoint Dirty P Deck 8.5" x 31.925" WB 14.3"
Venture Standard Polished Trucks 8.5" Highs
Spitfire F4 Radial Slims 54mm 101D
Spit Cheapshot Bearings
Generic Hardware
Primitive Grip
[close]
flat washers and softer/shaved bushings should get you right with the ventures
[close]
I bought an extra set of the black Bones Hardcore bushings for my bro (he is heavyset) and I'm thinking about swapping them out just to see how they feel. Now I wish I bought some softer ones cuz the stock purple Venture ones are surprisingly firm and stable feeling, I'm just used to a quicker turn after running Indys for 25+ years

FrozenIndustries: my bad

white indy bottoms and shaved down purple tops (7mm ish). riptides only make it better

I've been running the white indy super softs in my 5.8s and have been very pleased. Previously was running some shaved ace bushings but they weren't doing it. Threw in the white indy bushings and found the turn I was looking for

I like them a lot, suede is holding up really well with just a couple scuffs. The N is falling off on both shoes but I don't really mind.

Isle Tom Knox 8.5” (14.5” wheelbase)
Indy standard 149s with Riptide pivot cups
Spitfire F4 OG classic 58s
Bearings
Hardware
Jessup (cheating on Mob cause it’s all I had, sorry Mob)

First deck with more of a “traditional” shape in a while - been skating mostly Hockey and Polar decks with bigger square noses for the past year. I don’t usually pay attention to woodshops and stuff but this is a Generator and the deck feels super thick and heavy.

^Maybe try a couple of even strokes on a left over piece of grip to shave them down. I'm sure habitual bushings shavers have a method they can share. Riptides are after market bushings and in this instance I'm guessing they were referring specifically to their pivot cups. Don't be afraid of their longboardy vibe. I haven't tried the cups because I don't blow them out but I have been riding their bushings and they make a really nice quality product.

Deck is hot. He’s definitely not ‘my guy’ (I’m a weirdo and I can’t not see his pants/legs) the talent is undeniable tho.
Is this board less than 32”? I measure tip to tip. PS stix boards are almost always measured all weird. Can’t get enough of em tho.
Anyways, rad looking setup

That's funny because his pants/legs thing isn't my thing either, but to me it works for him and im still a big fan. There's definitely other skaters who little things like that make them not 'my guy' though so i get it

Anyways, this one measures 32 exactly

Damn the search continues: ps 8.5x14.25x31.75(ish, on the length). I know they exist cuz I’m skating one. All of the ones I’m seeing are too long for my short ass legs. (The real reason I don’t like Justin’s style, he’s got long legs I’ve got stumps)
