AD Blank 8.38 31.88 14
Ace 44 flat top washer
Loophole 54 V’s
Reds
Allens
Jessup

Going to be using these for the next run of Fortress Skateboards.
First session-ledges, flat, a bank, and a small set of stairs
First impression-nice full shape, but not square. Concave and kicks on the mellower side of steep. Nice stains and routing. Stiff with a little give. Good pop and flip. One sesh in and I’m hyped.

The P2 was a very handsome shape and I loved the ultra square nose, but I think I'm just not a mellow concave/kicks guy. Decided to try the quasi proto shape again before I give up and just ride hockey decks forever.

9" at front bolts, 8.8"ish at rear.
169 Indys
56 Ricta Chrome Clouds 92a
Santa Cruz Rails

I have some harder 56s I might throw on because I want to get more comfortable sliding, pivoting, reverting. (Smallbeating 83b, which is like 103a??) But I really only cruise and these wheels are nice for that. As you may notice, my "tricks" have come down to riding without falling, and nose stalls on curbs

I love seeing AHTBM decks on here. Stevil is the absolute best sort of human.

Also, that bit between BFRD & Sneaky had me laughing so damn hard.
Thank you, fellas.
I owe you both a beer as payment for the smiles you brought me with that one.

New one

917 8.18 × 31.75 / 14.25 wb
139 Hollow Forged
Spit Classics 54mm, now 52mm (and perfect)
Modus Abec 7
Indy Bolts
Jessup

917 is now BBS and this feels perfect so far. And it feels more stiff and crunchy as the Anti Hero I had earlier this year.

Beautiful.  I really enjoyed the 917 deck I skated for the past month. The wood quality felt good. The shape was more tapered than I was expecting but very functional.  I’d buy another one if any shops around me carried them but I don’t think they do.

The 2 Evesin's I've had were both just way too steep. Why didn't it work for you?

It's weird. On thunders i just couldn't get used to the wheelbase i think. Pretty sure it's a short one. Felt good the first session then took it off and put it away. Either that or the steep kicks confused me!

Got it back last night and now I'm skating indy's it felt great. Hopefully it continues

My guess is the length and wheelbase, the 8.0 - 8.25 are under 31.5" with a 14" WB. But the 8.38 is quite regular looking (8.38 x 31.75 x 14.25). https://www.skatewarehouse.com/Evisen_SP21_Team_Deck/descpage-EVSP21T83DK.html

Don't Indys generally make WB even shorter than other trucks though? Or do I have it backwards

You have it correct, Uncle, it’s just that wb/effective wb are but pieces to the greater puzzle.
As an example, I’ve skated well on boards that had a short wb, with ace’s, and I attribute that to maybe helping the short nose and tail lengths.
There is way too much going on with the setup math, all I know is I dunno.

Standards (cast baseplate) add around 3" to WB, Hollow (forged baseplate) add around 3.15" to WB

I'm glad other people know because honestly I've got no idea. Pop felt weird on thunders, feels great on indy's. Very stiff deck though.

I gave my thunders away but there were some decks that felt incredible on them (such as dlx) when maybe in theory they shouldn't have, as i tend to like a shorter wb.

My main reason for the switch back to indy was to be able to ride without risers and that's been a blessing. This and the killing floor deck felt amazing.
