I found some gear while packing and Frankensteined a setup
8.6, 14.5 P9, collab board i probably should have saved (it was still the Kevin rodrigues shape when I got it). It's 8.25 over the front truck and maybe 8.1 over the back. I stood up on the couch to show the magic carpet-effect
USA 139 with 3 different sets of stock bushings
Canal 55s, a fullish shape
Mixture of reds and modus

Took out it to my curb tonight. I retired it early the first time I skate them because I monster trucked them on 149s and could barely pop it. Not expecting that issue now. The tail is pretty steep. It's squirrelly but it slappys nice and I stood up on a 5050 without having to do this stupid front shoulder roll I do on 149s, if that makes sense. Nice lock in. This is the 5th setup in my quiver but I think I'm gonna get some time in on it really soon. It'll be fun skating a 14.5 on narrower trucks

Just set up the big Cory (love seat?) with 151 Thunders. 48mm big heads with Super Reds. Gonna be a fun board!!!

That thing looks rad. I love my 151s and thats giving me ideas on what to do w them

This looks really cool. I've been loving a narrower truck with fuller wheels.

This is my second 9" Polar popsicle, as I really liked the wheelbase.

169s w/ Bones on Real risers, Diamond allen hardware.

55mm F4 Classics w/ Raws (gonna splurge on either Swiss or Ceramics soon tho and spoil myself) and Mob.

Looks sick. nice choice ;)

Here's the new setup...first street-oriented setup in like a decade. Been riding a 60mm wheel 9" wide cruiser type board for a few years now. And I'm already getting the setup madness.

Deck: Alien Workshop Exp Green 8.5x32.25"
Grip: Mob Perforated Standard
Trucks: Krux K5 Standard Polished 8.5" -- bushings are way too soft, ordered some Bones Hardcore Hard 96a. Otherwise I like the trucks.
Wheels: Orbs Specters Swirls 99a 56mm -- coming from 60mm 90a wheels, these things feel ROUGH. Considering ordering some OJ Plain Jane 87a's to replace.
Bearings: Bones Big Balls Reds
Risers: Krux 1/8" white
Hardware: Independent 1" Phillips blue anodized

Give the wheels a few more rides, you may change your tune depending on what you're doing. I swapped from soft 56 to super hard 56 and almost immediately switched back, then kept riding and soon enough it seemed normal.

Then I switched to smaller 53 99a wheels and that was something else to get used to, but feels good now.

If you don't end up doing any slides/grinds that depend on wheels sliding, or super chirpy tricks, then sure hard wheels just make you slower on most street terrain and there's no reason to have them.

Yeah I'm kinda used to them already after some driveway sessions and hitting the crappy school skatepark by my house. Even the skatepark has crap terrain besides the ramps though, it's just plopped on top of a parking lot. I said fuck it and ordered those OJ plain janes just to try them out, hard to say no to trying new stuff when it's all 20% off.

I've got one on ice, light feeling with a deep concave, but the nose and tail have an interesting taper towards the tip. Not as much as a Santa Cruz Tapered Tip, but it starts fairly early like after the truck mounting holes.

Just grabbed a Polar Surf Junior definitely the biggest board I’ve ever owned. Lots of fun only skate it once so far, I’m noticing I prefer bigger boards for flip tricks cause there’s more space for me to catch the board 🤷‍♂️ Shuv variations are a lil weird with the giant tail tho

I ended up taking the 48 big heads off and switching to 54mm thin 85 softies. Also put some risers on too. This plus having brand new super Reds is hella fun. The board feels like it has suspension and rolls over everything

I wasn’t able to find a definitive answer before, but is the surf jr the same as the original surf shape (8.75 at the widest point with a 14.375 wb)? There’s a 9.0 surf shape out now so wasn’t sure if they just renamed the old one as jr.

Nice ride! Workshop graphics like that give me so much nostalgia... That was what the deck wall looked like in my local when I was 18! So sick.
