Ended up selling the hockey board, 15”WB is too much

Polar 8.5 14.5wb
Ace AF1 55
Conical Full 54mm 99d
Minilogo bearings
Jessup
And some Cons CTAS highs

This might be the perfect setup for me

Blackout cons so sick. Polar graphics looking kinda good these days.

Should i set up this mf'n 917 Olson board or save it for posterity?

Decided to try another dane 1 on a whim after having an awful experience on my last one, and I'm happy I did. I'm having a much better time with it this time around. Also the slime balls are sick; good slide, fast, and roll over everything. I know why nick and dane ride them so much now.

Also a kid at the spot came up to me and said he liked my style :)

Do you have any footage links of dane and/or nick riding these 0_0/

they're all over this. Opening trick is done on Juices I'm pretty sure, but after that all the orange wheels appear to be slime balls. Nick's guest double flip was done on his signature wheel, which I'm confident is these in white

Done with a Quasi Dick Rizzo. Trying that new Hockey 8.44 shape. Seems a lot like a DLX 8.5 but with a steeper nose.

Just had the most comfortable skate on my nicely worn in eagle yesterday.  Some things just work so well.

AH eagle 8.38 x 32.35 with 14.5 wb
Indy standard 149s, 92 aftermarket bushings (low top heads)
Spitfire Classic Full 99a 54mm down to about 53mm
Swiss
Shortys 7/8 silverados
Jessup

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Correct. I would personally keep my shields but yes this is correct. Well played.

Picked this up from recent doa mystery deck sale (thx sales thread).Couldn’t be happier.

DOA 8.38 x 32 (14.25 wb)
Venture 5.6 - hollow hangar w/cast baseplates
Spitfire 54mm classics F4 99 (worn to 52-53)

This is one of my all time favorite shapes; also love white bottom decks.

I have 1 board from each of the above 2 posts but they haven't come in the mail yet.

How's the concave and kicks on the DOA?

Steep and deep, consistent with the other DOA standard conclaves I’ve skated. Feels nice underfoot once I acclimated to it, but definitely not for someone who enjoys super mellow/flat decks. I’ve also mentioned before that the South Central wood is a bit thicker and stiffer than a BBS, for example. The pop is really explosive, however. Feels great.

How crazy does Dane1 feel on Aces? I really wanna try that board but it looks so short. 1991 shape looks to taper way too much for me, dane would go well with af1 66s but I'm scared of that length / wheelbase combo.

I got the ones with the 14" WB and that shape sounds right up my alley. After your reply I got a notification the board should be arriving tomorrow, hopefully not too late so I can set it up before the evening session.

Ok, thanks. I tried the couch shape from Chocolate and that wb was crazy tight. I usually like 32-32.5 length, wb 14.25-14.375 but now ride 14.75 and it's fine with Aces.

It doesn't feel crazy to me, but I like crazy set ups and I'm used to aces so take that with a grain of salt. I did actually change out the truck wheel combo on it yesterday to switch up the pop feel, so I can say it also pairs very well with 6.1s if you think you'd prefer those.

Even if you're scared of the truck combo, I think it's a good shape to try. Nothing else really feels like the dane 1, so you might surprise yourself.

Hey thanks, good to hear a different experience. I also like crazy setups but that couch shape was too tiny in wheelbase. I'm trying to stick with Aces since I like  how they function. I'm also interested in that 1992 shape an it seems to be a little longer than Dane1.

I think it's about 14.25 but the overall length of Quasi boards always feel a little shorter to me, which is a good thing.

Been running that combo for a year and a half and works fine enough for me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
