Dunno if I've posted this one before but I just got another box of DOA castaways so it's probably going to get swapped at some point in the near future. She's been very good to me as usual, there's just something about this setup that feels like home.

8.25 DOA Flat as Fuck skypager
Venture 5.6 hollows
Indy blue conical bushings (92a)
NFG 54mm 95A square shape
Bones big balls
Yessup (jessup that I got from a swedish kid)
[close]
I had this same deck (8.25) and loved it! When a new batch of 8.5 (size Im on now) flats drops I will have to get one.

I skate a lot of different stuff which is always interesting, but this is one of those setups where I feel like it's the little stuff that make it stand out - you hold on to things that would normally knock you off your board or don't get your feet set but still make it onto the curb. I don't know if it's because I'm more confident on it or just because it's basically a big flat plank on super stable trucks and thick wheels, but I went out yesterday at like 3 AM (it was unseasonably warm) and was definitely pushing harder and just going for it more than usual and the deck felt amazing.

kook me if i don't post this with marks again after 7 days. i think it's gonna stay dry.

evisen maru 8.25
standard ventures 5.6
f4 classic 54mm 99a
bearings & grip

gym mat for color contrast
[close]

heard the evisen's are "short" for the most part. Curious about the wb on those 8.25, if there's a chance you can provide some infor you're very welcome sir. cheers!
@Mcidraque

wb is pretty much 14 inches, tad under when i measured, but that may be due to method. it's for sure between 13 7/8 and 14.

Switched the 159s to the Polar 8.75.  Local was out of conical fulls so I grabbed these Bones 56 V6 in 99, popped the shields on some big balls and here we go

New Rowans too, looking forward to rolling around on this!  Haven't ridden a wheel bigger than 54 in years.

cool polar graphic! reminds me of the ones they did when they started out.

EDIT: merged this and my post thereafter to avoid doublepost

broke that glue 2nd day out (my fault, bad heel), set up the quasi to replace it.  weather was bad and i couldn't skate a fresh deck in the salt, so i took the risers and cruiser wheels off my dane1 and threw hard wheels on.  it's getting all the love and the egg is still on ice...

Back to an 8.5 with 14.38wb from the "big" DLX 8.6. New black wheels in F4, had to grab those of course. First session on the ramp went well. Wheel wells will take some getting used to, less unintentional wheel bite = good, less intentional wheel bite/pinch = not so good.

Polar Aaron Herrington Chain Smoker 8.5x14.375 w/ WW
Independent Forged Hollow 159
Spitfire F4 Fireballs 54mm/99du (black/conical)
Bones Super Swiss 6
MOB Grip
Indy/Mixed Hardware
NB#306 Foys (today)

EDIT: Mostly acclimated to the width and wheelbase but the pointy tail is still a bit weird coming from more rounded/full tails (DLX 8.6, B2, WKND).

Curious about that shape from Bones and how to they feel compared to Spit Fulls! Plz give us some feedback ^_^/

I haven't ridden the conical fulls, usually ride 54 conicals or classics.    It's damp out so I only rolled around a wee bit, the shape feels nice but the Bones plasticky feel is weird and I hope it goes away after a few sessions.

Love both of these! I've been so tempted by the Dane1 but ended up going with a 91 jr as got scared by the big boy!

What do you tend to skate with the Dane?

thank you :) all i skate on any board is low impact park and plaza

917 8.5x31.75 w/14.25wb
Ace AF1 55 w/Bones Hard and Riptide pivot cups
Spitfire FF 55mm OG classic
Bones Red Bearings (degreased and replaced with dry graphite powder lubricant) Highly recommend!
Independent 7/8" hardware
Unknown Grip (I bought the board during the Labor Day mystery box sale so whatever Baker Boys sent)

First time trying Ace.  So far so good.  Had to add a bottom cup, too many threads showing without)
First time on the OG Classic shape.  Looked everywhere for my preferred Radials and couldn't find.  Also was in LA for work and the crew at Kingswell were so nice I wanted to support so bought them to try.

OG classic is basically the same as conical full, so in the future if you like those but can't find them you can look for CF. They're slightly different but they skate more or less identically if they're the same duro/formula.

Kingswell are good folks. They're always happy to help when I want to know what the press stamp on a deck is or what color the top is. They're also one of those shops that will throw in a bunch of stickies and write you a thank you note on the back which is always nice. I think they sent me a free t shirt with some NFGs I bought too but that might have been a different LA shop. If I was West Coast I'd probably order from them all the time.

8.3" egg
139 Indy standards
F4 classics 54mm
Jessup (worst grip job of my life, not pictured)

Been pretty much mentally or physically gimped for the past year and have done almost zero skating. The 8" never felt comfy under my big feet, but my 9"ers always felt a bit bulky.

This 8.38 egg feels nice, instantly better real estate for cruising, while handling like a smaller board on the 139 standards.

Pinky toe is fucked though so I'm cutting it short after just cruising and getting a beer. Hoping the booster shot doesn't KO me.

Good luck dude!
I bought that same deck, but I just injured my knee so I’m out for a bit. I hope that shape treats you well.

Looks the 139s work well, with the shape, but I can’t work up the nerv to buy another set

A Matt Rod board. It's got a funky shape to it but Matt Rod is one of my all time favorites. Added some old indys with the soft bones bushings and new pivot cups with some 54mm Satori wheels. No fancy grip, just Jessup. I set this up before christmas but I've been so goddamn busy with school that all I can do is look at it.

The setup is sick. I love the blue after market bushings. I use the conical ones for a little more loose feel with still being stable at the same time.

USA indys, to me, have a better finish and feel better overall than Chindys. However, the USA stage 10/early 11 trucks feel identical to Chindys, though. Also, I'm Japanese so y'all can't crucify me for using the term "Chindys."

Given what Japan did to China during WW2, I think your use of the term Chindy is worse than if anyone from anywhere else used it.
