The front trucks looks crooked. Like one wheel is higher up than the other. Could just be the angle you took the picture tho.

Ohh yea you’re right
Lurpivs do tend to lean on one side sometimes if I try to crook or slappy. But they never really get “stuck”, I can always ride it out without feeling crooked.

I thought that's what it looked like. I hate when my trucks do that. Happens the most in colder weather or with newer trucks. Either way this setup looks amazing.

Thunder 147s with deluxe wooden risers
Spitfire F4 OG classics 53mm
Bones reds

I've been thinking of getting one of these for awhile now. Looks great. Do you happen to know the nose and tail lengths?
[close]

Grabbed the specs from skatedeluxe btw but seems about right.
nose: 6.75"
tail: 6.2" (this seems crazy if accurate, but it doesn't feel that short if that helps)

Ok yeah I was wondering the same cus Tactics lists the tail length at 6.25 so I was hesitant about that. If it doesn't feel that short I might give it a try. Thanks!

Flying back to DC tomorrow for a wedding, so I decided to set up a fresh deck to embarrass myself at pulaski with. At least that's what I tell myself to justify dismantling the 91 jr.

Hockey Caleb debut board 8.5
Lurpivs with 1/8" risers
Slimeball 60mm 97a (Happy to be back now that I can ride a set that's not neon orange)
quantum isotopes
jessup ultra
bronze

Polar P2 8.5" Klez Rehab
149 Indy Titanium
Spitfire F4 Conical 52mm 99a
Quantum Isotopes
Mob

Had a good year last year, decided to go all out and treat myself. Deck is a new shape for me, liking it a lot but it's a trip to look down at after coming from a Hockey. Might be mental, but feels a bit like an egg, wide in the middle with a little taper to the kicks.

Repost from the egg thread.

Hectic one. Was given a free set of slime balls by a friend and remembered I was sitting on a frog egg board of the exact same colour so I frankensteined this thing together. Will probably turn this into a cruiser with wider wheels after a few sessions so it doesn't look as magic carpety and throw the wheels onto a normal street setup if they skate well.

Frog 8.8 (with very aggressive taper)
Indy 139 hangers, ace baseplates, blue indy bottom bushing, bones medium tops (made this with a bunch of leftover parts for a zip zinger and it actually feels very very good)
54mm 99a slimeballs
Probably a mix of swiss, reds and super reds

Is this the 2022 deck? I hope it’s better wood than the ‘21, which was pretty subpar.

yeah it is. only skated it a couple times so far but its been a fun board

I noticed my lurpivs are doing that a little bit too, but more just when I'm pushing or setting up for some flip tricks. At first I thought it was the bushings but its not. Might be the pivot cups being ovaled out from doing a lot of slides and wearing down the baseplate causing the hanger to sit unevenly. Not sure yet, usually very subtle.

When I was a little kid, I had very basic skills and was able to roll around the very, very hilly suburb I grew up in, throwing in little bullshit ollies here and there. Then, I went to community college, ate a lot of cheese fries, and grew to 230 lbs. Then, I grew up and am 30 now, I decided to take a legitimate crack at things. I went on a crash diet, went from 230lbs to 180lbs. I went from being terrified of switch to being able to ride around town switch super fluently, and I'm going to begin practicing ollies on grass this spring. Hi :)

I'd been spending a while now trying to work out a nice, all-around type build that I could use for general transportation as well as hit small hills in the area. I recently did one of the gnarliest hillbombs I've done in some time on a 8.25 that was pretty weathered, and it was so friggin scary that I immediately spent my entire recreational expenditure budget on a fresh 8.5 and new shoes. XD

Presently I'm riding around on that 8.5. It's super chunky & it's got a pretty mellow concave, and I'm learning through this experience that I think I'll be gravitating towards boards with deep concave. After some research, I'm very close to closing the deal on an Alien Workshop 8.375 after stumbling upon their videos (so freaking good!). Have been an Indy-exclusive rider my whole life, but have gotten the idea to grab a pair of Thunders and see what the fuss is about. Might wanna get a 1/4" riser because I hear Thunders are lower, and my wheel mm preference sits in the 56-58 range, being a noob and living in a crazy chunky area. [[[Presently rocking some 56mm/92as which I've quite enjoyed, and have been trying to see what I can do about slowly getting exponentially harder wheel duros without freaking out. Purchased some OJ Nomads 57mm 95a, which will be my 2022 springtime wheel.]]] At this point, I've had... what was it, 4? pebble fiascos now. Nothing too horrible, I'm able to break those falls pretty easy. I've also had a few random slip-out fiascos and other fairly standard similar such bail fiascos. Trying to pick up judo, seeing as how it's a martial art that focuses on proper falling.

General all arounder setup for a novice 30 year old rated at 175-185 pounds, for transportation and learning my first ollies

Current Vers. 1 Late fall/Winter 2021
8.5 Tristar Bingo Bango Bongo [popsicle]
Clear MOB
Indy Titanium 149's
Shorty's 98A
Triclops Goblins 56mm 92A
Bones Big Balls [Love these, no wish to change!]

Upcoming Vers. 2 Spring 2022
8.375 Alien Workshop Frankie Spears [popsicle]
Standard black MOB
Indy Ti 149 [with a possible change to Thunders Ti 149, excited to noodle with that]
Indy 96A [which I'll purchase a set of 94s with and see if I'm comfortable with. I'm probably just paranoid.]
OJ Nomads 57mm 95A
Bones Big Balls

Rad setup.

A good stain always makes a simple graphic look a lot better too!
