Holographic effect: https://streamable.com/43tvf6

FA Tiger Holographic - Yellow 8" x 31.66" with 14" wheelbase
Ace AF1 33
Spitfire F4 53mm 99a Classic Full
Bronson G3
Bones 1" hardware
MOB

First time skating a holographic deck. I'm sure the holographic part is going to just peel off after a few sessions, but it's still a neat concept.

Also anyone experiencing MOB having way worse adhesive than usual? It might just be the colder weather or something, but I'm seriously about to switch back over to Jessup because of this.

FA 8.18
Ace 44 (bones med top bushing)
56 conical fulls
Bronson G3
Mob

Haven’t been jumping at all lately, so I started running Ace and conical fulls again. Perfect curb setup imo.

Repost from the egg thread.

Hectic one. Was given a free set of slime balls by a friend and remembered I was sitting on a frog egg board of the exact same colour so I frankensteined this thing together. Will probably turn this into a cruiser with wider wheels after a few sessions so it doesn't look as magic carpety and throw the wheels onto a normal street setup if they skate well.

Frog 8.8 (with very aggressive taper)
Indy 139 hangers, ace baseplates, blue indy bottom bushing, bones medium tops (made this with a bunch of leftover parts for a zip zinger and it actually feels very very good)
54mm 99a slimeballs
Probably a mix of swiss, reds and super reds

love this one !!

That grip job looks great, would like to try this sometime but I can barely get my old school perpendicular stripe to line up. Getting this long run parallel sounds like frustration.

Fortress one off 8.38-31.88-14.25
Ace Classic 44’s flat top washer
Loophole Teardrop 52’s Jessup
Shieldless Reds
Knox(?) 7/8 allen’s

I wanted a more minimal graphic this time and threw a top graphic on the bottom.

Could you measure the wheels? I had some Loopholes at the start of the pandemic and they were 50.5 not 52, but I otherwise liked them. Was thinking of getting a new set but don’t want them to come in quite that small.

Currently riding the radial fulls.  Very fun wheel and feel very fast on crusty ground.

My past 3 boards were FA/Hockeys, I love the nose but the tails feel a little small. I just switched up my setup to a Polar P2 and I'm still adjusting but it feels pretty good. Similar front end with a little more width through the middle and a slightly longer, tapered tail.

I was able to just use some penetrating oil and a hammer. I sprayed the oil through the bottom hole and left the baseplates upside down for about an hour so it could soak in, then I was able to bang 'em out pretty easily. I think the problem people face when they try to get the kingpins out is that they bang straight down rather than the angle of the kingpin? I try to hit the kingpin at an angle so all the force goes through the same angle as the kingpin/kingpin hole, if that makes sense.

Work got my tax wrong and I wanted to skate a popsicle again = no new deck, so time to take a wallhanger down.

First hour on it felt nice but I'll probably go back to the 91JR soon.

Cafe 8.25 (feels bigger than my old 8.38 carpet though)
Thunder 149
1/8 risers
SML 54mm wheels

Weirdly only got 3 wheelbite marks. No idea why the one wheel doesn't touch as much as the others. Anyone else get that?

nice setup. and your scrapes are lookin nice, my friend

re: 3 bites, i have had that happen occasionally too but noticed it was what i was doing on the board, ex backsides and coming off toe heavy so the heel side was slower to develop. so maybe something like that?

Felt sad putting the first marks on it, but needs must. Might have to get the new Truman deck they've just done when pay packet comes in (but in 8.5)

Good point on the bite. I'm very frontside orientated I'd say, or at least i have been lately so will have to try and even it out.

What did you make of the SML wheels? I've had mine a couple months now and they just will not slide. I know they're a wide wheel but I've had a few SML wheels and they never seem to really slide that well.

I prefer spits but they're just difficult to get in the UK, especially in my local it seems.

Any one got thoughts on OJs, what are they like (specifically the edge wheels if anyone had them)?

There are so many shops that sell wide varieties of spitfire wheels. I’ve never had any problem getting them from anywhere between 50mm-60mm

Where have you been looking?

I can get them from others in UK but really been trying to support the local lately (obelisk in Cheltenham). Might need to bite the bullet and go elsewhere though I suppose.

You’re still doing a good thing for UK shops when you buy online, I do know what you mean about going in to your local though.

Maybe ask them to buy stuff in? Most companies say “if your local doesn’t stock our stuff, have a word with them about it”

That looks tough as hell. I’m a fan of small trucks with thicc wheels on shapes like these.

I left some 144s at the park like a year and a half ago and I didn't regret it at all until seeing that Beach Bum just now. I was never gonna skate them regularly but would absolutely love a set up like that.  Rad set up
