New one very exited to try out an 8,5 with a 14 inch wheelbase

Anti Hero mis team eagle 8,5x31,75x14wb
ACE af1 55
Spitfire formula four 53 conical 99a
Shorty's 7/8 lights hardware
Industrial 6 ball bearings
Mob grip
[

That short eagle might be my next board. Definitely want to give it a shot.
If you see offensive comments, just let it go into one eye and let it out of the other eye, no tears and not sadness or anger.

I have a feeling the AH 8.5" with 14" WB will be Slap's darling deck for 2022.

Hell it's made me consider sizing up to an 8.5".

DOA flat as fuck 8.25
Theeve TI-hanger 5.5 (the ultralight fancy ones)
Riptide krank 87a bottom, thunder stock tops (cold weather setup based on the ace setup, I like to run film mediums in these when it's warm enough )
54mm Spitfire F4 radial slims
Shitty Jake Shunt pro model bearings
Jessup probably*

Back is maybe starting to heal a little so I decided to out something together that would be easy to pop. I actually don't recall trying this deck/truck combo too many times for some reason but it feels amazing today. I popped an ollie in a spot where I could see my shadow and it actually looked not trash, so I tried a heelflip and it sizzled up and slapped my back foot first try. Yup, this shape still feels like home and this one feels really good. For sure the best flat/mellow boards on the market.

* this one was a fletch castaway so I didn't grip it, but he's a jessup guy so Im making an informed assumption... Also the slide marks are not mine and he is much, much better than me.

BFRD, you've really piqued my interest on these FAF decks.  I love south central wood, but the kicks on the 5boros I've been riding have just been too steep.  I've hesitated, wondering if these would be too flat, but I think I just need to go for it when they drop more.

There were actually some "mellow" standards in the last run, not sure what they changed but it was definitely noticeable. They were pretty close to a dlx III in terms of kick angle, but you'd have to basically have a chance to dig through a stack and pick one out. Flats are still way better feeling though.

If you don't already know he doesn't usually send the flats to shops (I guess they don't sell well in shops) and puts them up on the webstore instead. Follow DOA on insta and pay attention to the stories and posts and he usually gives a heads up a few days before they're coming in. It's kind of random in terms of size/graphic so it's best to be early if you skate a popular size. They tend to go pretty quickly once word gets out.

If you're having trouble tracking one down feel free to shoot me a PM when you're ready to switch, but honestly you can probably just DM him like a man and get it straight from the horse's mouf. He's a really friendly dude and a total madness afflicted board nerd so he gets it.

I DMed him and asked about the next drop of flats, he said maybe May. I need to just get 2-3 next time. Like Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part.

Here's the script for the funniest sketch show ever:

After informing Derek about his sore stomach, George Floyd then tells him about how annoying possums can be!

The Furrie and Pup Play supporting vegans convince the whole of New Zealand to become vegan with an updated slogan: "Animals are friends with benefits not food"!
(This is a bit of an Australian in-joke)

A super hero named Sterile Man arrives in town and heads straight to the supermarket to start pointing his finger and shaming any granny killer who dare still walk down the confectionery aisle!
(This is particularly aimed at the attitudes of the Australian politician, media and her supporters who refused to acknowledge the fact that health benifts from covid restrictions all come at cost!)

Homosexuals still too afraid to leave their homes due to Israel Folau's social media post!
(You also have to be Australian to understand just how funny this one is!... This is he last of the Australian references)

Jewish prisoner sits in Nazi death camp pondering who's worse; Hitler, or the people who say it's wrong to brainwash children into sexual servitude of the crossdressers!

Miley Cyrus one ups Cardi B to once again become The Queen of Female Empowerment by performing a live show from inside the hole in an outhouse!

Principal pats herself on the back for the success of her Islam Positivity program after asking a kindergartener from a non-Islamic family "Who's this other little girl in your drawing holding daddy's hand?" and hearing her reply "That's daddy's second wife I dream he has, because after learning about all the people who say Muhammad is a hero I want daddy to be just like him"!

Intersectionality realises that it forgot to include gingers in the movement so the pride/BLM flag gets updated with little polka dots to represent their freckles and Ronald McDonald is deemed their spokesman!

Parents discover that their 5 year old boy has somehow made his way onto the roof of their 3 story home and is yelling out that unless they buy him the frilly pink panties that he needs to be his real self he's gonna jump!

Rapist gives his thoughts to an interviewer about how he feels after watching Slutwalk storm through the street: "Not bad, not bad at all. My only complaint is those few tiny pieces of clothing they kept on. Hopefully next year they'll be back even sluttier. But for now I've got to find something to do with this raging boner they've given me"!

Independent reporter who published an article highlighting the fact that the identical twin studies prove the Gay Gene theory false watches all the heads of the Antifa mob who awoke him with their "Anti-gay! Anti-gay! Anti-gay!" chant physically explode after asking them what they have to say about the Islamic nations which throw homosexuals off roofs!

The lights are dimmed, the candels lit, and the Barry White record begins, as the robes are removed, and into the bath slide a beautiful couple, who can't help but talk dirty with each other every time a transvestite is the topic of discussion, who've decided it's time for their realtionship to progress to the next level, and who also happen to be siblings!

After being lectured about how we consume too much garbage and that we have to cut back to only the bare essentials for the sake of the planet, a questioner asks "Are there any tv shows which you consider essential?" and is given the response "Obviously the Tim and Eric Show"!

Con-artist puts into motion her latest scam by handing her Official Anxiety Disorder, caused by hearing co-workers dissagree that sexism is the reason why STEM doesn't employ 50% women, documents to her employer, which she brought from Dr. Doctor for only a fraction of what she's gonna be stealing from work over the next few months on her paid stress leave Xanax bender, and she's got an army ready to jump in and start shouting "Where's your degree!?" if anybody tries to call her out!

Welfare leech can no longer sleep due to being haunted by Eminem's lyrics attacking fa(censored by Reddit)ots, that he's been blasting out of his car for the past 2 decades, after voting for a politician who's calling for prison time for those who refuse to be a part of the crossdressers fetish, who bought him with the promise of more welfare money!

Therapist starts giving his sexually abused clients the same healing advice which is given by the BDSM proponents: "I'll tie you up, unzip my fly, and knock you around while you recall your trauma and work through it"!

Psychic realises he can hear the voice of a passer by's immune system asking him "If this pathetic prick won't even fight back against pedophiles taking over the whole world why should I do anything at all?"!

Harvey Weinstein travels back in time before the accusations to identify as an Islamic woman!

Black rioter stops mid way through lobbing a brick through a shop's window to question if maybe acting like a criminal doesn't help eradicate the white supremacist prejudice that blacks are criminals, then decides to do it anyway for the Nikes!

Arts department replaces all their professors with tape recorders that repeat "Any notion of beauty is a system of oppression" all day long!

The excitement on Steve Smith's face when he hears that any male capable of uttering "I'm trans" can now freely stroll straight into Boob Central!

Woke woman cheers and cheers as they give her a tax cut to make up for the gender pay gap, then races towards her front door for a shopping spree, only to have acid thrown straight in her face the moment she opens it by one of the Islamic terrorists they/she let in!

Martin Luther King speaks to us about his dream of living in a world free from kink shamers who say things like "Yo plantation pornography ain't cool man"!

The year is 2030, and everybody except the elites mysteriously grows a beak, and after much talk about how it happened some begin to unravel the mystery as they start to wonder if maybe the pharmaceutical giants, who think it's cool to watch boys grow breasts, and who've had the power to force needles into us every 6 months, are behind it!

Cop pulls his gun on a 12 year old girl who thought she could still get away with calling something regular after new laws pass that replace all of the patriarchy's fascist old free speech laws with big tech's hate speech policies!

The Not Fake News Network sets the record straight regarding Bruce Jenner's Woman of The Year title: "I'm not sure Caitlyn deserved that title. Is she brave? Yes. Is she stunning? She certainly is. But was she really Woman of The Year?... She surely would have been a top 10 contender, but I don't think she quiet earnt that number 1 spot, and I'm not afraid to say it"!

Lord Jacob Rothschild forces all the lunatics who claim that the banking system doesn't grow anything other than the proportion of the wealth that they hold to slump away defeated by demonstrating that as they make new money out of thin air the crops magically grow more produce!

The show comes to a close with:
Man who changed his name to Mr. True Patriot no longer keeps us waiting as he finally puts down his beer, closes his pornhub tab, puts on his armoured vest, picks up his trusty shotgun, and liberates the world!

This is the shows theme song: https://youtu.be/SlURs19PECs?start=165

I haven't finalized the intro yet, but it will include Mr. Trololo waving his finger in disappoint, the super moonwalk, and other classic internet phenomena!

*There most certainly will be black face involved!

Yeah I've been following/paying close attention to their insta lately. Looks like @FUBAR did the dirty work and found out May for a possible next drop.  That works for me.  Gives me time to work through my current stack a bit, which my wife saw under our bed the other day and told me I should open a skateshop.

Get hungry on it!

That expression on her face from your avatar pic is perfect for this occasion.

I think we have all had something similar at one point or another with skateboard things.  I kind of wanted to jokingly shoot back something about how many shoes or other things she has, but thought it always better not to compare anything to skateboards, especially seeing as I know I have way more of those than anything else she ever has, if it comes down to it.

They are an investment in my sanity, plain and simple.

No skateboards = I go crazy (and yes I do have mental health issues, but skateboarding keeps me sane).

This is very true.  But I chalk it up to being winter which for me equals less opportunity to skate, more opportunity to buy, and let the madness creep in.

Set up my next Neen 8.5 Twin Nose (still got two in stock). The old one was well worn. I love this shape and it's nice to just set up a similar board as you had before because it means you can just continue to ride instead of relearning all moves on a new shape.
Dooks Silencers
Lurpiv 149 with regular kingpins
Bones 100s down at 48mm
Bones Swiss
Miles
Diamond 7/8 Allen
s/o @PuffinMuffin  for the stickers

Twins are cool, they look like you can tailslide when in reality you only know how to noseslide. ;)

why come?

I had to look back over the history, so you only set that up around 14th Feb?  Sure didn't last long.

Also interesting as the DLX 8.25 were always "plus sized" so it is almost the same as the other BBS 8.38 boards you were on before and are on now?

Little dude = sharing the joy too!  :)

Yup, pretty fucking annoyed because it was feeling super natural and consistent to ride. Oddly, it was way flatter than my TKF that I snapped and flatter than the 8.25 Krooked I have on ice. That meant the Sci Fi was a bit jarring the first sesh as it is quite a bit steeper. I compared a TKF to the Sci Fi and it's mellower as well, closer to the Krooked. I really thought all the generic BBS were the same, but in this case they definitely aren't. Otherwise the tail, nose, etc are basically the same.

Interestingly I did finally stand on the Dreamer shape I've been asking about. It has a slightly shorter tail than what I'm on now, same length nose. I think they just drill the back bolt holes further back.

Most of the more generic shapes are often a little shorter in the wheelbase, which makes the kicks longer, especially when compared to some that are much the same length.

Even between half a dozen of the exact same shape and graphic, of various BBS boards, there are significant concave differences, when I have lined them all up (usually to get the most mellow one for myself) so I guess the four to a press is distributed fairly evenly across the products.

It certainly makes for some more curious concaves, as you said, some more mellow and some steeper.

New whip today

Polar 92'
Venture 6.1
kader 60s
Quantum Isotopes
jessup
bronze

Decided to take a break from the lurpivs and try out the 6.1s I had on ice and they feel much better than I remember. Probably gonna stick with them for a little bit while I'm one the shorter WBs.

Did a huge spring cleaning thing with a bunch of old skate stuff, and got a whole new complete to replace one I gave away.

Polar Dane Brady Fish Bowl Surf Jr 8.75" x 31.5" with 14.375" wheelbase
Venture 5.8 Hi Max Geronzi
Bones STF Trent McClung V5 99a 54mm
Bones Swiss 6
Jessup
Bones Rib Bones
Mini Logo 7/8" hardware

For those wondering, 8.5" trucks are a perfect match for this shape IMO. The area where the axle hangs is under 8.75": 8.5" at the front and 8.125" at the back according to my measurements. I placed my Venture 6.1 trucks on the board and the axle stuck out too much for me.

I'm absolutely loving this setup. For whatever reason it feels smaller than my previous 8" setup (maybe the length difference?) and I can manipulate the board pretty easily. Here's to hoping Polar doesn't discontinue this shape.

One of my favorite shapes. I always keep one around. I feel you on it feeling smaller. Very nimble and I think it's due to the length and heavy taper. I ran mine with ace 44s and 56 conical fulls as a curb board/cruiser, but realized I could pop higher and control it easier than most popsicles I've skated. I want them to bring back the Surf Sr shape I haven't tried that one yet
