Does having your rail all the way on the edge like that work for you? I just started running single rail and I’ve been running mine much farther in

Idk how it changes how it skates but it’s just how my dad always used to skate his rails back in the day. So far it’s been doing pretty well though. I’m still sliding on rails/curbs smoothly

They do look clean.

I had to do a double take with that Beyond sticker.  Been a while since I was over in W.A. though, but Beyond is a rad shop.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Missed skating a punk point a lot.

Black Label Jason Adams Curb Shark Punk Point 9.5" x 32.75" with 14 5/8"WB
Indy standards 159 with 92a top bushing and 90a bottom bushing
Powell Peralta G-Slides 56mm 85a (using these till my ankle heals completely, then I'm switching them to NFG MFG 54mm 52D Vee Shape)
Bones Super Reds Ceramics
Jessup Ultra
Rib Bones
Bones 1/8" risers
Mini Logo 1" hardware

It's strange, but a shape like this makes me want to push harder and go faster than usual.

Been a minute since I posted on this thread. A couple new ones

8.38 board done by a skate park homie. China wood. @cocoskateco on IG
Aces with Bones hard bushings in there. The frontside grind groove is making me catch on grinds and its getting frustrating so this will prob be the last board that I skate with them. After these I’m probably gonna start skating my friend’s Lurpivs that he’s over
NFG 54mm teardrops normal hardness
Reds

Sour 7.75

Can’t get enough of anything Pontus touches. Started a new job and figured I’d treat myself:

Polar Hjalte 8.5
Indy 149 hollows with Bones Hard bushings
Formula four conical fulls (started at 58mm somewhere around 56ish now)
Bones Swiss

Shoes are last resort vm001s. First pair and I’m stoked. I have a wide foot and these fit tts for me.

So dope. I have a super similar set up. Same VM001s, same board, was on Indy’s but recently switched to thunders. Great set up though

Sick! I’ve been considering making the switch to thunders or aces recently just to change things up, but I’m pretty sure if I do I’ll end up in the gear madness thread lol.

Was running a Krooked with 14.25 wheelbase and no risers. Was finding it a bit cramped with the Royals coming from Venture previously.
I'm fairly tall so wanted to step it up a little. The Royals are really fun, they are a great all-rounder truck. Liked Ventures but they felt a little too hefty for my lazy style of skating.

Fav looking setup in a while. Graphic is stellar.

Quasi Henry 8.5 (14.5 WB)
Royal 149 IKP (The new design)
1/8 Real/Venture wood risers

How weird is it/am I that I notice that you are riding ace instead of ventures, and have opinions, for you, about that? Insane.

Weird? Not at all. Insane? Yes, we're all here on slap after all.

I'm interested in your opinions though.

Still got my venture setup. Just wanted to switch it up a bit since my friend who gets aces gave me a set. They're better in some ways, worse in others. Refreshing to skate something that feels very different once in a while.

Did you end up cutting bushings or angle grinding the kingpins, or is that just natural wear on the Ace trucks?

Had my roommate help me grind down about two threads worth with a dremel. Kept the ace bushings though, didn't want to mess with a shorter top. Already more than enough clearance now

Yeah that should work well.

I had another look at the board I have set up with stock AF1 55s and although I haven't touched it really since setting it up and having a few sessions on it to get the bushings just right and experience the new Ace trucks, the kingpins are about two threads on the back and one on the front, which once taken down should give enough clearance for most things, especially the back truck for pretty much everything really.

As others had done, they only really needed to cut down the top bushings when their trucks were almost at axle and were grinding the kingpin nut right off, hence the needing it lower, but I don't think that many people would skate curbs and grind trucks flat across til they did that either.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

I had about one and a half threads on the front and back. But not really a fan of threads showing, and also raw kingpin definitely catches harder than the nut, and didn't want to have a grinded down kingpin that couldnt be adjusted anymore.

Definitely notice a night and day difference doing smith grinds on this one ledge. Prior to grinding the kingpin down I hung up every other try, and afterwards no hangups at all.

Huge shoutout to the 14" wheelbase and Crail shapes threads for turning me on to this shape; absolutely beautiful. Not overly thrilled on the graphic but the shape and dimensions make up for it.
