ChocChoc G052, a Sean Malto specialty! 8.25
Thunder 148 hollow kingpin/axle
51 F4 Spits, FKDs

Yeah, had to get rid of that face. Scrubbed it, clear coated it. Locked and Loaded.
Awesome shape. Feels great. Though, I had to take Degro's advice on skating flat decks with this one: @ the 2 min mark he gets into the main tip

Rainy boring day, wondered how light I could make a standard BBS 8.38 complete. I give away all my used gear, but no one wants this weird/broken shit, sooo...

I previously bent the axles on the Tensor ATGs, so I straightened the axle back out and reamed the hollow cavities of both trucks by a couple mms then epoxied in a titanium rod. Took an angle grinder to the baseplates. One truck with all accoutrements weighs 260 grams.

Ti hardware, Smith Ti Jacobs ladder bolts as kingpins, some old Indy bearings and cursed wheels.

2234 grams or 4 pounds 14 oz.

I'll post a link to my GoFundMe when the trucks inevitably break and I smash my teeth out. :)

this is giving off cannondale lefty vibes

Local skateshop closes one of their stores and skate stuff was on discount. I decided to go all in and bought new complete. Been on 8.25 for 1.5 years, now went smaller:

Palace 8.06
Thunder hi 147
Satori 51mm 101a
SKF bearings
Bones, diamond, mob

Adidas Tyshawn low were -50% too...

So are you only riding 2 bolts on each truck?  I have NEVER seen anyone do such a thing.  Not saying its bad just never seen it.

This stupid setup is stupid and was meant as a shitpost. Flip tricks are unpredictable and fast. It feels like a toy and is generally bad to skate.

Seems like you got one of the sets with aluminium baseplates. Because the most insane thing about this is, that fully magnesium mag lights actually weigh 260g stock. Crazy to see it like that

I didn't know the mag plates were so light, do they still sell the mag plates? I think they phased them out when during the start of the pandemic? The titanium rod also added 30 grams.

So are you only riding 2 bolts on each truck?  I have NEVER seen anyone do such a thing.  Not saying its bad just never seen it.

There's four bolts. And you tighten the kingpins from the bottom with a 4mm hex. Here's the kingpins if anyone is interested:

Amazing job. One of those crazy gripjobs where you use only half a sheet and wheel wells would shave off a few more grams.  ;)

Regripped this one (fuck Mob) and set it back up.

DOA 8.5
Venture 8.5 (cut down Ace top, flat washer)
Spitfire 57mm Bigheads
Quantum… I forgot which ones
Bender Allen
Jessup

I love this 8.5 South Central shape. Good to be back on it. I always liked DOA, I have one more 8.5 waiting. I’ll try to scoop a couple more assuming they are done  :(

No complaints, I’ve used them across multiple set-ups and they always stay tight. For me, if I can support a small brand then why the hell not.

I enjoy this setup. I'm still getting the hang of using the Dragons as I'm used to NFGs but I can tell that they're great wheels, you can really haul ass on these things and as advertised they take rough ground very well. The Tensor website says the axles are 55mm high.
