It took me about thirty tries to figure out how to post as image, I knew I had to use an image hosting site but I don’t know which link they offered to use plus which button to press on this site to post. I’m only 37 but I’m def a boomer 73

Set up the last of my Polar P8 shape stockpile that I had I built up once I learned they were discontinuing the shape.
RSVP P8s: you were so, so very close to perfect.
Rest of the rig is the same beat Ace Classic 55s, F4 99 56mm (now down to ≈53mm) Coni-Fulls, Bones Swiss & Roughneck 1” Phillips hardware I’ve been running for at least 4-5 set ups of this width.

Bless up.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

didnt those taper to like 8.125 or something
whats it look like from the top?

i had one when they were in production, good shape
ran em with 151s and there was some wheel showing
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

That’s about right.
It’s about 8.8 at the front axle & 8.2 at the back.
If it tapered less towards the back, this would be my dream shape.
It’s been fun.

Colored wheeled should be close to your stale fish hand. Tom Boyle rules. Otherwise, lovely set up.

Colored wheel has lived back there in the past, but gets moved around, along with the others, to compensate for wear.

Opera Sam Beckett Dover 8.75" x 32.2" with 14.5"-15" wheelbase (set at 14.5")
Independent 159 Standards with Indy 92a aftermarket bushings
Bones X Formula 56mm 97a V6
Quantum Atoms bearings
Indy 1" hardware

Also for those wondering: the Opera Alex Perelson No Evil 8.38" deck actually does have a 14.75" wheelbase. It's not a typo.

Does anyone have any idea what shape/size deck Louie Barletta skates? It looks unlike anything I’ve seen, so mellow and so thin!

I have messaged him but I thought I’d ask here incase anyone knows 👍

I remember in an interview he rides a 7.4 and when everyone sized up he never changed apparently. I can’t remember where I read that but for some reason that’s in my head.

Edit in a quick google search I found this video from 10 years ago saying he has his boards custom made to be 7.5 width and the rest of his desired dimensions. I could have sworn he used to do 7.4 though.

Back to the old house... Haven't ridden this equation in around 4 or so years. I conveniently developed PTSD on the Beamer with some of my "go-to" tricks after I fractured my right 5th metatarsal with a botched crail on vert, so I figured I'd try and hit the reset button with something a little different than what I've been on to hopefully get my head straight...

Opera is DSM wood correct? How does it feel compared to the Anti Hero you just finished up? Been forever since I’ve skated anything non Generator and PS Stix but a couple of Opera shapes caught my eye.

AH PP 8.5 x 32.25 x 14.38. (Shape is nothing special and wood quality is just "meh" but ok-ish enough.)
Jessup Ultra
Thunder 7/8 hardware
Ace AF1 55
HKD 5
Lock in fulls 99 54mm which I'll probably exchange of my old CF 99 53mm

Yes, Jaccuzi/Opera use DSM and are Epoxy 7.

The kicks and concave are steeper compared to the AH which is a lot more mellow and I'm still getting used to it, but I really like it so far. Feels very responsive. Deck also feels much more stiff.

Yeah I just spoke to him on Instagram and he just said it was a custom 7.5 with very flat concave, “a wild ride”

I’ve always thought his setup looked so sick, and I love that he’s skated the same thing forever, that’s why he is so smiley, no board madness!

Also funny that I never saw enjoi make a pro deck for him that was smaller than 8'

I bet there are people out there who believed that he actually did set his board up like that 😂

But yeah, they’ve never sold his shape, it’s strictly custom which is fair but sad

Something went horribly wrong in the process.

Yeah I only saw one other DGK 7.75 with same specs when I purchased it in 2021. I checked several sites before ordering to verify the specs.

That 7.5" shape he skates is a replica of an old Guy Mariano Girl board I'm pretty sure

Yeah I just spoke to him on Instagram and he just said it was a custom 7.5 with very flat concave, “a wild ride”

I’ve always thought his setup looked so sick, and I love that he’s skated the same thing forever, that’s why he is so smiley, no board madness!

He also rides his trucks ridiculously loose. I couldn’t imagine skating such wobbly trucks on a 7.5
