Gnarred for you. I've never broken a truck before, they usually bend or get so worn down that the kingpin affects my grinds. Those thunders didn't look too fucked. How did they break?

I always axle the back truck in the same spot. It never goes all the way across. Lots of frontside grinds, 5-0’s, 50-50’s(both backside and frontside lock in on my heel), feebles/smiths, and maybe 4 total sw crooks. The hanger cracked about a week before the hollow axle cracked. It bent all the way down and I just kept skating it until it broke

Getting back after it after a few years on the sidelines...

-CCS Blank- 8x32, 14.25 wheelbase. That's right, the lowly ccs blank! I actually really like this deck. Reminds me of some of my Alien boards from back in the day. We'll see how she holds up...
-OLD Stage 9 Indy 139s. Picked up right where they left off! Perfect for this deck. Made in Merica
-OLD Spitfire 53s.
-OLD but unused Swiss Super 6.
-Whatever hardware
-Psyduck courtesy of my 9 year old Son.

Been loving this set up for knocking the rust off. I'm amazed and what all I can still do, although I'm nowhere close to what I was at 17. Since I've been gone, y'all are skating much bigger decks! I skated hard from '99-2011 on 7.5s and 7.75s with one 8" SJ Habitat deck thrown in the mix (hence the 139s above...), that was accused of being a vert deck  ;D. Next deck will probably be an 8.125 or 8.25 to try that out.

Pretty set on these PS Stix 8.125s, but I've been curious about Thunders for awhile. First time skating them.

Set this up last night and had to get emergency oral surgery today, so I’ll just be looking at it for another week but can’t wait to get out there on it.

Much appreciated, feeling ready to rock. Gonna take it for a roll at the local park or my neighborhood curb tomorrow or Friday and will follow up with a ride report.

Finally got a few sessions under my belt after all the rain. Loving the nose and tail on this thing, sort of a reverse egg effect that makes it lock into slides like a giant board despite feeling pretty nimble with the 14.5” wheelbase and Aces. Would absolutely grab another Swim based on my experience so far, or at the very least another board with similar dims. Top shot (excuse the dismal grip, lost my last good razor somewhere in the garage):

This one’s PS, I’m not sure if it’s only specific runs or shapes coming out of Ohio, or if the dimensions of this were just too weird for them to produce.

love the graphic/color combo on this one.  was riding a Palace previously, and it felt fine, a little too stiff though.  Feel more at home back on crail wood.  .

At the time I was blowing out stock cups cause I skated mad loose, lot of friction, and Indy cups used to suck. Thin urethane and pitted. They’re good now, it’s unnecessary to swap from stock. The ones in my 149s are better.

Got a little fidgety last night & set this “treated” DLX 8.38/14.5 deck up on the same AF1 55 hollows, w/ F4 99 Conical 54s.
Bones Swiss, some well used Shorty’s 1” Phillips & an assortment of grip scraps round out the assembly.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me.  You think you got me?

For me it’s perfect. The tail isn’t too stubby and the shape is full but not square.
Hope this shape sticks around. With ventures it balances perfectly.

Venture Hollow Forged 6.1
Spitfire F4 Conical 54mm/99d
Bronson G3 bearings
Spa Gear Hardware

Nearly a Christmas complete except the used wheels and bearings I had in a drawer. Riding Ventures unlocked some interesting wheelbase options for me, too hard to pass this one up at the local (remote) shop.

EDIT: WB measures 14.1875 in case anyone cares. Oh, this is SLAP Shoes & Gear, of course you do.

this would've been perfect without ventures
