Real doesn’t always have terrible graphics. There’s usually a couple sleepers every drop. I don’t know if I like the 8.28 shape currently though. It feels a little stubby and my trucks feel really tight on it

i had a doomsayers board, snake hand graphic, 2017 ish. i think it was 8.28. i felt like it was maybe 14” wb….but cannot remember. bigger nose, square ish shape. none of which i ordinarily like. it was theeeee best. skated it with indys. should have just stayed on that.
my last dlx was a true fit and just felt so not right, for me: i’ve always like short small tiny boards. i could even get a good ollie on it tho. made me start skating longer boards, as a possible overreaction.

and it’s true, real will slip in a few good graphics for sure. more than a few, it’s an old trope

Wanted to skate something smaller, knees kinda fucked atm tho so have to take it easy

Girl 8.38
Ace AF1 44
Spitfire Classic 53mm
Reds
Jessup
480s still going strong
How are you liking the g016 girl 8.3. I got that one before knowing much about their shapes and could not skate that tiny tail. Found out on here that's an infamous difficult shape.

I had the same experience. Tbh it only felt good on Indy standards which are way too heavy and tall for me. +1 sick Costco stickers!

Re Doomsayers boards - yes that was it, almost the same only a little longer, so 8.28 x around 32 with 14.1 or so wb.  Kicks were pretty long on it and the one I still have is steeper than I like, which is why it is in a box with a whole lot of other boards of different shapes to what I usually ride, Becky with the paper bag over the bottle sitting down drinking graphic.

Funny I should get it out and see if anyone wants it.  It was used once and swapped in because the person wanted a bigger and longer board than that one.

That was while they were still on BBS, before things changed to other woodshops.

Another one I saw was a lot shorter, so maybe they fixed the shape, or trimmed it down some.

Found one:

https://www.slamcity.com/products/doom-sayers-8-28-club-becky-skateboard-deck

• Width 8.28”
• Length 32.25"
• Wheelbase 14.125"
• Concave Medium

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

April 8.5
Jessup
Ace classics 55s
Krux bushings 96A
Bones 84b
ILQ 9 bearings

Swapped my old 94A indy bushings for these Krux ones, but they don't seem that hard. Gonna change those wheels and out some Thunders 161s next month

How do you like the april 8.5?

Feels nimble and little bit smaller than the average bbs 8.5 (deathwish&baker), really round and longer nose and tail. Took for a ride today and I like it, full nose makes really easy to control mid air and good in street too

Sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Stocked up recently and hoping I like them when I kill off my current board

Set up the second Ben Raybourn by Metal today.

Super fun. Got my old mega worn OG 58s
Swiss bearings
Old very worn 5.8s

I'm gonna throw rails on it.
It's crazy small. I might switch to the 14" wb setting. Flips great.

8.75 sub 14

I like the 9 better. Also I gotta bring my bushings over.

The new dlx bushings are super sick. Or the 6.1 has longer kingpins.

Massive difference. Way way better than my Indy super softs. The Indy freeze up much faster.

Have two going at the moment,

Main setup

Alien Workshop 8.5x32.25 14.25 WB
Venture Loose team editions 6.1 (first tried with my Ace AF1 low 60s but figured out I liked ventures better with the giant nose.)
Spitfire F4 classics 53mm 99a
Bronson G3
Shorty's 7/8 lights phillips
Jessup

Experiment setup
Element 8.38x32.2 14.12 WB (first element since 2004 lol $15 bucks at a board shop in Florida)
Thunder team hollow raws 148
Bones Stf V2 shape 103a
Bronson G3
Diamond Mike Carrol 7/8 Allen
Jessup
My first time experimenting with riding trucks a little smaller than the deck, it's actually quite nice for some things.

I love green bottoms.
Sometimes purple is my favorite tho.
Green of any shade tho.

Cadillac pink will always be the move if I can. Nothing is better than that imo.

That egg looks sick

I'm not fish hb but I've also been riding the gfb egg for a bit and I love it. I've settled on v6 53mm x99s but I also tried the 48mm wide boys and they felt good too (just sticking with what Im more familiar with before commiting to snot)

Interesting. I think it is relatively mellow, but it might depend on the location in the press and i skate the alien TT the 5th time in a row on my normal board so my perception might be skewed.
Having the gfb with ace af-1 55 and 58mm 97a conical fulls. I think the WB is actually 14.25? I measured it but forgot it. It is magic carpet with ace af-1 55, but i like that.

Set up one of my Killing Floor decks from that gnarly sale a year or maybe 2 (at this point) where they cleared older inventory at $30 a deck. I bought at least 6 decks and hooked a couple homies up before skating some of them myself

Skating those leather SJ KSL G6 right now and they feel fantastic
