I've been skating this for a little while now, but it's essentially the same shape I always ride and I've been liking it.
8.5 x 32.125 x 14.25 snack (ps stix - snack is the best brand)
venture 5.8
58mm 93a F4 Spitfires
reds
nutass 7/8 hardware
jessup

currently skating 92 skate half cabs

Nutass Hardware: best shit out!
Fabo/Marvo Corp was a true bless.
Miss those drops.

They go fast as hell. Love everything fabo plus 7/8s Allen hardware is the best

i too miss the fabo

skated this shape more than a few times, still have one kicking around, but its setup weird with 6.1s, still works. something about that shape has always ‘inspired’ me to put the wrong trucks on it….148s, 6.1s, and ace classic 55s, being a few of the weird ideas. classics 55s were real decent. looked ridiculous.

snack is indeed the best. i bought a snack semi recently, was hell bent on sizing down to an 8….pretty silly

Never heard of Snack but I’ve been wanting to get a PS Stix deck in 8.125. Never heard of GX1000 or Quasi either but came across those in my searches for a deck. GX switched to BBS so I was pretty set on Quasi but what makes you say Snack is so good? What are the differences in shapes/concave if any compared to Quasi? From online specs, they seem like pretty much the same but I figure there could be more to it. Thanks!

Ok

snack is the best in that they are a small company that is cool. sometimes great graphics. they feel closer to how the shit felt for me back then, when i had more feelings.
as far as i know, snack’s shapes are the same as quasi’s.
i thought gx might still have a ps stix deck or two, but i haven’t checked. one of those guys recommended to their 8.25 shovel nose bbs board and i skate that, despite it being different than what ive always liked.
quasi and snack 8.125 have a tiny tail. i like it. maybe one or two other sickos on here like it. dunno. not ideal with tall wheels unless you are trying to rocket ship to the moon.
i like ps stix boards, they are whippy, and for me skate great. i also don’t want a board to last forever. which is good. because they don’t. but they skate better than most for me

Pretty much this. I posted another set up since this of another snack board in this same shape. This is my perfect shape. Also snack is the best it’s a small brand with an awesome team that go on trips to places big teams don’t travel too. Then they make sick edits of the trips and they rule. Who else is going to Morocco, Columbia and Jamaica not on some crazy budget.

Snack shapes are pretty similar to quasi. A lot of brands that use ps stix have a similar fuller boxy 8.5 x 32.125 x 14.25. It’s my favorite shape. I most skate quasi or snack these days. Just bought a gx1000 with the same dimensions with bbs wood. Skated lots of those when they were ps stix. They were similar too with what felt like a smaller tail. Curious if it will feel the same.

yeah i’ll be interested to see how you like it.
i had a bad run there of bbs boards that i just never loved. 2019/2020 onward.
which sucked, as krooked (and baker) was my favorite in the early days. sheffey gest model was a highlight for me, could have skated 10 of those in a row.
but anyways.
this gx 8.25 with the crazy nose is great. and the wood feels nice!
exactly what you said about them traveling to interesting places

Thanks! This is the info I was looking for. Sounds like they will be another good option for me to try out. I see a lot of PS Stix shit talk around here and I just want to try one out for myself. One of my first decks was a Schmitt Stix Lucero back in the day and I loved it. My last deck was BBS wood I think (DGK) and I liked that too but just want to try different styles out to dial in what works best for me now that I’m more aware and in tuned to the differences. During the 90’s, when everything went skinny popsicle, I couldn’t tell the difference with most of them and just rode whatever I could get. Maybe I just didn’t care or have the money to care either since I mostly just got blanks but I do remember one branded deck I had that stood out because it felt more poppy and lasted longer. I think it was an Element but can’t remember for sure. Anyways, if PS Stix don’t last, that’s fine with me too as long as it feels good while it does and then I can just try something else.

Set this up today

8.38 AH GT
149 standard indy
53 full conical f4 spits
Fat feet bulging out of black and gum Superstar adv pointing wrong direction which is on brand for me

New shoes and new board but I haven't skated in months so I'd be shit either way. Might as well slowly get used to the summer setup now.
[close]

How do those Superstars work for fat feet?  They look pretty wide?
[close]

They're comfortable, but I haven't skated in them much yet. I'm not sure how wide my feet are in comparison to some but they're like 5 inches across the widest part. Measured a few random old shoes kicking around and looked like 4.5 inches is the average size. Im sure this data means nothing but here I am presenting it regardless.
[close]

Good deal.  I appreciate the feedback.  Sick setup by the way..
I’ll 2nd they’re great for fat feet but I haven’t skate med much in them. The soles are a little thick for liking in the past. These posts makes me want to pull them out.

Really nice looking.  Does that have a 14.25 wheelbase?  Can I trouble you for the nose and tail length on that?  Great setup.

I've been running 8.125s and 8.38s recently so this thing feels like a twig. At least it's got a 14 inch wheelbase and overall only about 1/2 shorter than my 8.125 setup so it doesn't feel cramped. It's so light haha

sometimes i go to setup a 7.5, and often ill have a good time for a week. flip tricks often feel more difficult on the smaller decks, i need to be way more precise than i have the ability for. and my regular ollie struggles mightily. the narrow decks do encourage me to be on the balls of my feet, and there is significantly more lift on rotational flip tricks (fancy way of me saying treflips).

i like the colors on that palace up there. ever since tzanghox published their findings on the long wb shape, and then someone else chimed in that it is a kyle wilson fave….been hard to not buy.

I do the same thing, usually have 1 setup around this size.  Skate it a few weeks, have a bunch fun but realize my thoughts of "I skate better on setups from back in the day" are just rose tinted nostalgia.  Rinse and repeat every 6 months.

Really nice looking.  Does that have a 14.25 wheelbase?  Can I trouble you for the nose and tail length on that?  Great setup.
