Had a custom shape made for the shop and got the sample yesterday. It’s a culmination of three different 90s street shapes.
Set it up with some Lurpivs and some Spit Reynolds to give it a test.
Dims- 9 at the widest.
32 long
Wb-14.25 adjustable to 14.75.
Nose 7
Tail 6.5
8.75 over front truck
8.5 over back

Damn this shape sounds amazing!

Set this up the other day. Forgot how much i love flatter decks.
Politic 8.25 with a pink top, black magic grip. Did not measure the wb. Maybe 14.25.
Venture 5.2 low w/ v8 baseplates set to normal wb.
Spitfire 52 93a with bone swiss 6.
Hot take. 52mm dragons 92a with bones race reds skate better than 93s, slide more predictably and are faster. I prefer the the spit classic shape though.

Been skating Air force 1 mids.

If the ground in the photo is what you're skating that's not a hot take at all. :D Otherwise, yes.

Ok

this is really sick, the whole kit

i tried to skate some black air force 1 mids, and i was airballing kickflips crazily. it looked like i was trying to do some wild like ollie into a no-comply or something. gino made them look perfect in the greatest 411 segment, bobby puleo makes them look nice now, and cyrus had one of the greatest kickflips of all times in them, but damn af1s are tough for me to skate

Put your flicking foot more inside the board, straight (almost like ollie position) and maybe an inch more behind than your usual position.  You want to catch more of the shoe on your grip. Flick late too (this is where putting your foot a little more back than usual helps, takes longer to get to the nose)

Honestly best Af1 wearer has to be Keenan.

Are those wheels dyed? If so, how was the process? I like my 93s but also prefer black wheels.

yeee. copied this from the video i used.

“How to Dye:
OPTIONAL STEP: Use 100% Acetone and paper towels to scrub off the graphic on the wheels. It doesn't take long and will not damage the wheels.
Clean wheels with hot soapy water. You can scrub by hand or with a brush.
Fill a medium sized metal pot with water and bring it to a boil. It should be 200 degrees fahrenheit when ready.
Add 1 teaspoon of dish soap.
Add your dye. (I used about a ¼ of the bottle)
OPTIONAL STEP: Place wheels on a shoestring.
Place wheels in the water and continuously move them.
Check wheels occasionally until desired color is achieved.
Once color is reached, take wheels out of the water and place them in a bowl.
Rinse wheels in cold water until water runs clear.
 Dry and you are finished”

Just set up this Senn 91 Powell reissue.
Had to redrill the hole pattern to fit the thunders but it worked out and I got to lengthen the WB a little.
Paired with the gonz slips, should be a fun summer set up.

That's a sick setup! How's the wood on these Powell reissues? I've heard they do the "McWarp" if left to the conditions but nothing about the ride.

Seems pretty good, gonna give it a rip soon and report back.

Reporting back. Wood is proper, shape is really fun!

Haven't been able to skate for the past 6+ months due to a shoulder injury, so I figured I'd make my return last weekend as uncomfortable as possible with an xmas complete including a couple things i've never tried before...

Jacuzzi Pilz 8.5 x 32.2 x 14.25
Slappy Hollow Lows 8.75
Spitfire lil smokies F4 50mm 99a
quantom atoms
acer titanium 7/8s
Vans Authentic Hi VCU

I've had a couple sessions on this now and at first I didn't love the Slappys but I'm starting to warm up to them. I bought them coming from Ace Lows and I wanted the same low truck feeling but with a slightly lesser reduction in wheelbase. After two sessions the only thing I really notice is less wheelbite (good!) but my nose/tail slides don't slide as heavily on the baseplate. I don't love that but I think I can get used to it (and it's not as nonexistent as say a Thunder slide).
The 8.5 deck is also something new(ish) to me...I've been riding 8.62-9.0 for the past 6 or 7 years but thought I'd scale down slightly in order to try to get flip tricks back easier. That's not really working out so well after being off the board for 6 months, but hopefully soon...
Also the hot rod isn't bad at all with these 8.75 axles on an 8.5.

Concave is much steeper on Limo decks. I think the WB is longer too, but def the same pointed shape.

Tensor Mag Light 149
Bones X-Formula 97A 56mm V6 Widecuts
Black Panthers ABEC7

Some old hardware, 7/8" Allen like a conformist bitch

Gonna try to break in the stock Tensor bushings this time instead of putting in Bones.

Odd angles annoying to grip, nice to have Mob for this deck.

Been skating this board for a couple of weeks.  Was kind of bummed to see it chipping already.  Nothing crazy just small chips in odd spots.  I’m not a hucker or anything crazy so it’s not normal for me to really chip my board.  Lemme know if you see the same thing.

Only got a couple of little dents so far and sanded them down as recommended in the hacks thread but no chips so far (knock on wood). Overall i like Chris's shape, has some nice pockets to put your feet into that really let you zip around the bowl, or town.

Set up another board today to replace the 9" Creature Stub. On of the best boards I've ever had but the razortail has hit the top ply and it's starting to delam so, moving on..

I use rit synthetic don’t bother boiling the water just straight die warm water and just leave in the tub until I get the colour I want and spitfire seems to be the worst at taking the dye but are successful after 24 hours
