New board-
Downsized to 8.38 from 8.5 and I think I might've found my goldilocks shape, specifically the B2 shape it just works perfectly for me.
Also switched over to Indy from venture after riding my friends board with indys and realized what i was missing.

Baker Reynolds B2 8.38 x 32.25 x 14.5
Indy 149
Spitfire f4 classic 56
reds
pepper

Been a while since a new board.

R7 8.5 blank
159 hollows

Some years old glow in the dark 52 classics (Might go back to radials, I miss the lock in)
Jessup
Swiss
Theeve bolts that I've forgotten how long I’ve had then for now.

Just a quick roll to knock the winter rust off, but it feels nice.

Been thinking about doing this soon, even figured out how to get them to be +5/16" offset reliably. Too bad I only have a hand drill and no vice :(

Do you mean you have a power tool drill?  All I used was a very simple small power drill and a 5 mm HSS drill bit, marked out the baseplate and made sure I had the center of the holes punched so the drill wouldn't slip and took it nice and slow, just to make sure it was ok, no vice or other restraint other than wedging it in place.

Some people even drilled the baseplate into a piece of wood, or even doing it on an old board would not be too hard to then stand on it to keep it in place while you drilled out the new holes, just the baseplate, no hanger on, drill from above.

I know I nearly messed up a number of baseplates, but they all still work on the many baseplates I have drilled out, but the one thing I found that worked the best was getting a baseplate mod type thing, like Chems tool, which really helped keep the things lined up.

Could send you a lot more info, video, etc but I think people have seen enough of my efforts on here to repost too much.

* Also 1/4" is ideal for most boards, even though the V8 baseplates are a bit more.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

This is great info and it's what I missed about forums. So much lost DIY info. Here we used to do a bit of tech slide in the mid to late 00s and I rode with some friends who drilled out old trackers and those street gen Indys etc by mounting to a thick piece of wood to keep it steady. It was however easier drilling into the boardside of most cast plates because they weren't as polished/rounded (and had no text), and if the drill bit 'wandered' too near an edge wheelside it could chip a cast BP, so drilling down through a board with more than one WB drilling if you had one was good.

If you got a solid piece of 2x4, mounted a (potentially) sacrificial BP and got the offset drilling right you've then got a jig with drilled holes where you want them. Sorry if this is boring, I just realised sadly how much info we've lost on the internet and love seeing people getting on and doing stuff like this.
