one does not simply.. have a set of yellow navigator trucks on hand untouched in 2020
[close]

Debated whether or not to reveal this because I don't want to be responsible if seventyfrigginseven's head actually explodes but the navigators aren't just yellow.

99a's, sorry didn't remember to specify since 99a's are pretty much the only wheels that exist to me.  ;D

Thanks.

The wheelbase on the board is 14.25, so I’m probably around 13.75 now.
The lo’s just work for me. I’m 46, so the quick snap and minimal effort help in my old age, also flip tricks are working way better for me. Don’t notice a ton of difference from hi’s though

Is your rear axle bent? Both the rear wheels appear to be turning in at an angle, the right a little more than the left. Maybe it's just the angle of the pic, but it looks off to me.

Hah, after looking at the pic yesterday I was anxiously checking my axle if it is indeed bent but thankfully it must be the dual camera distorting the angle for some reason. I've noticed it before when photographing something in an angle.

Dbx 8.5 x 14.25 wb
Pepper
7/8 Allen
Indy hollow standard 149
Bones swiss 6
Spitfire F4 bighead 99 54mm

Classic stuff. Have you tried forged 149's with that shape? Any discernible difference?

I've totally enjoyed Standards with the blue eagle, but haven't tried forged with it.

Probably no big difference, but still, y'know, madness.

Thanks

Yeah, pop feels ever so slightly lighter

It's ~1.5mm lower and ~15 grams lighter per truck

if you switched from forged hollow to hollow standard, it would be the equivalent of taping 3 nickels to your front truck

Not really noticeable

I hate forged though

Cause with cast plates, when my truck gets all smashed in/bent from nose/tail slides, I can rub the baseplates on the sidewalk to flatten/smooth them back out so they don't press into my deck weird

I like having the extra height as well in case I need a big soft wheel for a weird spot or something, and then running 53/54 max usually gives me more wheelbite protection

The forged indys are gonna have a better pinch though, and lighter pop feel

I pretend forged baseplates don't exist tho

Same as lock in wheels, they don't exist either

Anyways forged 149s are great. Last time I ran them on a blue eagle was 2021. I just don't like them as much as cast and the cast ones are cheaper

while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

Wide, red wheels makes me think of Cardiel with the Indy ( nosebone I think? ) over the paint cans. If my memory serves correct it was on the Gnarcotica tour. A bmx ramp they saw from the road as they were driving by. I wanted red wheels so bad after seeing that. I saved up to buy the only red wheels in the shop ( Boston Baked Beans was the graphic, Think wheels) but they got sold before I got there. Turned out Cards was on the filmer board cause it was raining and he kept slipping out. Every time I see red wheels this is what I think of.
