Hockey Diego Todd 8.5"x 31.9" 14.25" WB Shape 1
Indy 149 standard with bones hard bushings (game changer)
Spitfire classics 54 99d
bones big balls
regular pepper

Been riding 14.5 wb for a minute because I'm 6'5" and felt like i needed the extra room, but after going down to a 14.25 I unlocked so many more tricks and the board feels so much more responsive and agile. Flip tricks, ledge tricks, even weirdly transition tricks all feel easier and more intuitive, so for now I'm really happy with sizing down.
The bones hard bushings also have helped a lot, since I'm tall which makes me heavier, they allow for really nice stability while also being carvy and responsive.

I have pretty much cured my gear madness (knock on wood)

really stoked on the art too, wax and grime gets between the embossed art and makes it look like patina'd silver

Polar In Search of The Miraculous - BMX Dreams (Eyeball Shape)
8.85 (Widest Point)" X 31.75"
Nose: 6.85"
Wheel Base: 14.25"
Tail: 6.5"

Ace AF1 55
Bones Swiss
Ace Allen Hollow 7/8
Spitfire F4 93d 54mm radials

Is the eyeball shape the same width over the back and front trucks, or does it taper towards the tail end?

I should do a count
The most popular wheel size is 54mm for you guys
53 and 52mm close. 53 seemingly more popular though.
Most guys also choosing radial or conical shape and not classic. Didn’t seem like a lot of classic users but wasn’t specifically looking for that either.
I only went back about 5 pages
Only 1 person using 56mm and 1 using 60mm
Couple random guys running baby wheels on troll setups idk if I am counting those really
I was really trying to get to the bottom of something I noticed. Do thunder truck users generally ride smaller wheels? Under 55mm for sure seemingly.

Every truck needs either squared wheels or 53 and above for a locked in pinch. Thunders need less wheel to lock in and pinch better due to the grind side of the hanger being lower. Other trucks hanve the grind side of the hanger a little higher.

I sound ridiculous lol.

*Baker Reynolds deck 8X31.35 14”WB
*indy 139 Ti Hangers W/ forged IKP baseplates
*spit 52mm f4 classic wheels
*mix of bones super reds and 2 or 3 spitfire bearings.
*slappy 7/8” Allen hardware

This has me cracking up, what exactly does Black Flag have to do with measuring your dick starting behind ya nuts?

Skateboarding is nothing but a game to find the right fits to appear like you're a proportional human being instead of a midget or a giant.

Foy rides cast thunder 149s with 54mm classics

That makes sense cause he be pinching

52mm truck + 54mm wheel, and thunders being arguably the best trucks for pinch

Indys(55mm tall) with 56s I'm fine, hell even 58s, but I definitely notice the wheelbite factor on thunders even with 53s

I agree 54 is the most popular size with 53 and 52 following close behind

It sure is super fun, it’s the second one of this specific board that I’ve ridden, I’ll probably stick with this shape and size for a while, at least for a big wheel setup. Wb is 14.625 according to the prime wood la website

I absolutely love them. I skate my trucks kinda loose and these give me a good turn and barely wheelbite.

First (almost) all new set-up in years. Stoked. Been off the board for awhile due to a combination of injuries and being occupied by climbing… but we back!

Krooked Cromer 8.38/14.5WB (new)
Indy 149s (10+ yrs old) w/ Venom bushings
Spitfire F4 52mm 97 Conical Slims (new)
Bones Swiss (new)

Been skating nothing but FA/Hockey 8.5s for the last 10ish years. Opted for this Cromer due to being slightly narrower while having a longer WB which being a very tall skater with relatively small feet I thought would be nice… I miss the oversized nose of the FA/Hockey shapes, but otherwise so far, so good!
