So theres this shitty park by me that I go to because no one else goes there, and one day there was this girl there. Now usually when anyone else is anywhere ever before me, I just keep driving (yes I am the weird one here I know). So this one day in particular I decided I didnt want to drive all the way elsewhere. So I started skating minding my own business, and she left after a few minutes of me being there. I felt like I ruined her session

And then this happened two more times. So one day I decided, you know what let me at least dap her up so she knows Im not trying to mess her session up. She was super kind, and left right after I said hi.

Now, before I skate I usually do some light exercising/stretching in proximity of the skatepark. One day I was doing my exercising or whatever, and she pulled up. She went into the park (didnt see me) and skated for a little less than ten minutes and left

After that I realized she just skates for five to ten minutes there and boogeys

All that to say I am an asshole who ruins sessions and this time was no different, but sometimes that awkwardness is just in our heads

Lol. Eldee is definitely a human. He’s like a raider on horse back who’s kinda scared to do battle. Somehow he closes his eyes and swings his sword wildly and wakes up in a pile of dead orcs.

Ok this one was a two day event that really caught me off guard.

I was skating at my local the other day minding my own business when another guy shows up that I've seen there before. No big deal, its just us two at the park so its empty for a typical afternoon. I've seen him before a few times but never really had too much of an interaction. Seems like a nice enough guy though. But as Im skating around he just keeps following me around the park. Skating the same obstacles and just generally following my same lines. At first I just think its a coincidence but about 15 minutes in he starts getting closer and closer. Put it this way, when we are standing on the deck of the qp I can feel his hot breathe on the back of my neck (smells like he just got done eating some taquitos from the gas station). At this point Im getting weirded out and just want to leave. I decide to take another lap around the park and again he somehow ends up behind me on the deck of the quarter pipe. I feel his hand gently rub my lower back and feel him heavy breathing on the back of my neck. And at this point I lost my cool. I couldn't help it, I had a shit day at work and just wanted to enjoy my session. I kinda felt bad as I drove home but at the same time I felt like it was justified.

Fast forward to this afternoon, I show up and homeboy is already there. I cruise by him to apologize for my blow up and he mentions he was being a little overbearing getting in my space like that too. Everything is cool between us. About a half hour goes by and we both happen to be skating the ledge. I land my first front crook ever and as I'm celebrating what do I feel? A full spank and squeeze on my ass cheek. Im talking a full HANDFUL of cheek, I was flabbergasted. I turn around and its him, standing there smiling while heavy breathing...

We are now on our way to chilis for the 2 for $25.

I went to the local crust park after work a few weeks ago and one of the young ripper kids was there just drunk out of his fucking mind (as usual sadly...) He was running his mouth and arguing with a bmxer/graffiti dude who had just rolled up. Things quickly escalated and the dude threw his bike at the young man's face like a super aggressive chest pass move, then fed him a few punches and it was over before I could even intervene. Another guy around my age who I was chatting with before shit popped off told me that it was the third fight he'd gotten in that day and every single person laid him out on his ass. He was cut up and swollen badly immediately after the scuffle. Probably lucky a peg didn't bust his teeth out or break his jaw honestly. We all went from just shooting the shit and having a fun casual early evening sesh to just not even knowing what to say after that. Very awkward. I offered to drive the injured party home cause I didn't want him to get hurt any worse or do anything stupid in retaliation but he refused. It sucks cause he's such a talented young skater but gets too fucked up too regularly. I don't want to watch someone pile out in real time before their mid 20s even... I've tried to give him the old guy fatherly advice talk but there's only so much I can say before I just sound like another asshole broken record. Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way over and over again until it sticks I guess?

All these stories remind me of a time me and fellow gray hair buddy were having our usual late AM weekend session at the local.

The local park is right in the middle of what's basically a sports park with a public pool, basketball courts and baseball fields surrounding the skate park. There's a fence around the park that helps to keep people from just walking across or into the skatepark.

We are doing our thing and then some youngish kids show up with no board, they are running around in the run up spot and being in the way, whatever, then they start fighting and the younger one is getting worked and crying. So, I say hey guys break it up, if you want to run around and stuff go to the playground or fields right over there. They are being a little mouthy and I say just leave us alone please.

They run off and then I see them talking to who I guess was their dad who is outside the fence. I see them pointing over at us, so we roll over there to try to talk things out and let the adult know what is going on. He flips out, tries to jump the fence to be a tough guy and almost eats shit doing that. Angry Dad looks to be in his late 20’s early 30’s. Me and my friend are late 40’s.

He's ready to brawl and we are trying to get him to chill and explain that the skatepark is for skating not running around and fighting, there is no beef, we just want to skate and that you wouldn't be doing this on the basketball court if someone was playing a game. Their response is that the park is for everyone and fuck you.

Eventually a contentious truce is struck. We try skating some more.

Then a third kid shows up that seems to belong to this pack. He has a board, so now they are all taking turns on it or hanging out in the run up talking shit to us.

I get fedup and tell them to fuck off and leave us alone. They go back to Dad and now he is fucking livid and will not settle down. He wanted to have it out. So, my homie and him yell at each other some more and by that time I'm over the session and just want to go, so we leave while fucko Dad is still yelling and trying to start something. I'm glad nothing happened that day and I always wonder how far Dad would have gone, he seemed pretty unhinged. He was not in the shape he needed to be to try to take on two skaters with boards in their hands. I'm not trying to fight at the skatepark, especially a Dad with his kids. in tow.

Dude didn’t get his permit for child bearing.

Back where I’m from, you have to be able to climb a fence without pause to procreate. People were (rightfully?) unhappy about that, so they protested at the skatepark and burned down all the wooden ramps.

Now we skate a slab from before the war that’s down by the river where flowers blossom between the cracks. My homie is learning bonelesses into the dirt.

Come to think of it, three kids wandered over in tears the other day saying they were lost after they climbed a fence to get away from their abusive dad. They said he’s been mad ever since kids made fun of him as a child for not climbing fences like them and that they displace his anger projected upon them onto people they encounter.

I walked them back to the place they left him and showed him how to climb. I saw a transformation encompass his eyes. Tears fell down his face and his children wept while embracing him.

Here’s to your next session being unobtrusive from people who didn’t get their permit.

I hate arriving at a skatepark. I'm already anxious and then you have to walk into the lions den, because let's face it, a group of skateboarders is pretty much a gathering at the Player Haters Ball. I've never lived next to a good one and so anytime I roll up I'm not used to smooth concrete that has me going faster than I expect and everything is off. If I can endure long enough I can get used to it but not in a day. Everything has me on edge thinking I'm skating on a frozen lake. I have a good one near me now though so I might just start going there every day and getting myself used to it.

So this 16 or 17 year old kid who lives down the street from me (never interacted with him) was outside screaming fuck you at his mom with a suitcase in one hand and his skateboard in the other. She told him to come back and he just started skating away from her. About an hour later I went up to the skatepark that’s about a 5 minute drive from my house and he’s up there. He was bumming everyone out, waxed the rail and absurd amount and then bitched about how slippery it was after slipping out on a boardslide. He kept trying to nollie shuv off the side of the flybox, which was one of the most interesting looking tricks to be done with so aggressively with a lack of pop. So he sticks the nollie shuv and slams on his hip. He gets up and is like “Oh guys I fucked up. My leg is bleeding bad” he hobbled over to us and there was a giant circle of blood right on his pocket.
He reaches in his pocket and pulls out a handful of his weed that’s covered in glass shards and blood. Then asks if anyone has a bag for his weed. He pulled down his pants and there were two pretty deep cuts with glass sticking out of them. He had his weed in a glass jar and it broke when he slammed. My homie got him a Walmart bag that he put his weed in, and we told him he probably still shouldn’t smoke it since it’s dyed red from his blood and full of glass. He then proceeded to call his mom and the conversation was super awkward as he was telling her he still wasn’t going to come home but he needed her help with how to handle it. I ended up leaving while he was still talking to her because it was too dark to skate so I’m not sure what happened after. Felt pretty bad for the kid though. He’s just lost and going through it.

Showed up at noon on a Friday to a local park. Pretty big crowd of youngsters, which is not my thing but I wanted to skate so I got in line for the low ledge. Skated a bit, everyone seemed cool except one dude, prob about 25 (I’m 48 and easily the oldest at the park at this time) who would smoke weed for 15 mins, skate for three mins, then repeat. Talkin dumb shit and basically annoying everyone. No biggie. An hour into it, I grabbed a deck out of my truck I wanted to leave at the park. I plunked it down and skated off. A few minutes later, that guy comes skating up with the deck to the line up for the ledge. “Grandpa left a deck!” He exclaimed to the crowd and me, which I don’t think he saw standing there. “Hope you enjoy it, sonny!” I exclaimed in a fake old man voice. Got a few laughs, not from him tho, he looked like he felt akward as hell. He ended up slamming hard a few minutes later during one of his three minute flurries of skate time. Hope he enjoys the deck.

I was hoping to have a short solo session this afternoon at a small skatepark that is usually empty or just me and a few really little kids learning to ride bikes or whatever.

When I arrived there was a couple there - the guy was a rollerblader and his girlfriend was a rollerskater. They were playing music on a speaker (through youtube so there were lots of ads playing quite often through the speaker too). The dude was wearing tight black jeans with contrast stitching and big crucifixes embroidered in contrast too. He had no shirt on and had the Element logo tattooed on his chest, like on one pec. She was wearing kind of kind of rave pants and a bright yellow bikini, with the straps of the bikini bottom thong pulled above the waist of her pants a little.

So I'm fine with all of this ^ and they were friendly and obviously it was a funny scene. They would chat to me about just like the design of the skatepark and the area (they were passing through) and asked me to film him jumping over her. It was a lot more interaction than I wanted but whatever, I was getting my skate in and they were harmless.

But then, he did some trick and he was hyped and she was just off the side of the park, at this bench that is like right beside the aforementioned bank where you start your run from kind of thing, and she's hyped too yelling like "Yeah baby! You did it baby!" And he zooms back to her and they start making out pretty aggressively like immediately and he grabs the straps of the thong and pulled them up so high (like up to her tits) and they're just like going for it, it was pretty gnarly. Again, this is happening like 3 metres away from me just like in my line of view.

I rolled in and did one more run, then came back grabbed my stuff and left. They were still going as I came back and he still had a hold on her thong.

I'm very down for sexuality, but public weirdness is weird, especially with kids around. I didn't think it at all before the make out occurred, but I feel like they would've been propositioning me had I stayed. The jump from kind of chill weirdos to seeming like they were about to fuck on the side of skatepark in an instant was bizarre.

Awhile ago I show up to one of the parks I go to and there was this chick there skating. I pull up and nod my head and smiled to her to be friendly. She immediately turns around on me. I’m like ok whatever. Basically once I showed up she stopped skating and eventually left the skatepark but was still around the perimeter. Like 10 minutes later she’s over by the playground screaming super loud……

If a staranger simply showing up ruins your session then maybe don’t skate or don’t skate that day….

I swear I thought about the propositioning stuff as soon as you gave their description. Maybe just because it’s this thread.

I’ve had talks about public sex come up twice in past relationships, which for me was already more than expected (zero). People be freaky I guess.
ive done acting too. I do stunt work. I do lightsaber fighting and choreography technique. I even build props too. even lightsabers.

This thread's 22 pages long so this has probably already been mentioned, but whenever everyone's having a fun laid back session full of laughs and non-seriousness, Tiltmode vibes, and someone starts getting pissed and throwing a tantrum, Hockey Temper Getz vibes. Completely throws the whole session off and feels awkward.

Yeah thats very true. I usually combat this by expeditiously making fun of the person throwing a tantrum.

Yeah thats very true. I usually combat this by expeditiously making fun of the person throwing a tantrum.
My crew has a friend that always ends up starting the session having fun with us and goofing off, but then eventually tries some tricks and if it takes him more than like five tries to land anything he goes full Kerry Getz mode. One time he threw his board and it almost hit one of us and we were like "dude, chill", and he was like "I'M SORRY, I'M JUST SO FRUSTRATED AHHHHHHH!". He then picked up his board, got in his car and sped off. We all just looked at each other like "uhh".

This happened 10 years ago and it still sticks with me.

I started skating late, at idk, 20.
A year later I moved and finally had access to a skatepark for the first time.

One of the very first times I was there, I was sitting on top of a big quarter pipe when two randos passed by and seemed to want to talk.
Like they were kinda hyped to see someone skating, it’s not a busy park.

So I slid down the ramp on my ass, and went over to them, walking.

Fist bumps, then they ask if I can do a trick on a flatbar. I’m like “uh, better not, maybe if it was square” and to make up for it I did an unasked kickflip
ive done acting too. I do stunt work. I do lightsaber fighting and choreography technique. I even build props too. even lightsabers.

Reminds me of this time when I was like 15 skating a parking lot alone when this car pulls up and it’s this older local legend dude that I was aware of but had never met. He rolls his window down and asked me if I could backside flip and I think I just told him no and he drove off. Always struck me as odd that he threw that one out there by default to some random kid skating alone.

Point is, anyone asking for more than a kickflip from someone they see on a board is breaking the social contract and you did your part.

When life gives you the opportunity to have a threesome with two transient rollerblading juggalos, you take it.

This got me laughing. Dude anytime Juggalos show up at the park you never know what you’re gonna get. In your case you got a show.

Has anyone witnessed a juggalo rip?

This thread's 22 pages long so this has probably already been mentioned, but whenever everyone's having a fun laid back session full of laughs and non-seriousness, Tiltmode vibes, and someone starts getting pissed and throwing a tantrum, Hockey Temper Getz vibes. Completely throws the whole session off and feels awkward.

I saw a guy freak out and lumberjack slam his deck into a bench like he was trying to chop in half until the deck was in pieces. He smoked a joint, called his girlfriend, got picked up by her, then returned with a brand new deck. He smashed it to bits the exact same way within 20 minutes.
It really put a damper on things.
