i set this up in december but haven’t been able to skate due to a broken foot. it’s healed now and luckily i haven’t lost any tricks

hlc 8.375 x 31.7 ish x 14.2
venture 5.8s with the flat top washer treatment
x99 58mm v5 shape lizzie graphic
nora bronson bearings
1 inch allen hardware (i would prefer 7/8)
jessup dont messup
asics vic nbd

Where did you get the HLC blank? Those dims look great. I keep checking skatewarehouse but they’re sold out.

i live in europe, they’re pretty easy to find here since the original hlc plant is in spain. i can’t remember the shops name but it wasn’t a straight skate shop and the boards were sent directly from the factory so it could be some dropshipping website. i’ll look thru my emails later and see if i can find it

Not a huge fan of DW graphics or vibe, but I really do like the 8.25 x 31.5 14.25wb shape... and now that Yuri is on the team that helps even more.

How tightened are your trucks? 1-2 threads? I got wheelbite even with risers, and I was skating 56 mm Conical Fulls with a set of T-IIs.

Flip Penny 8.13

I used to love old Flip shapes. I remember when I moved up to 8 a lot of those boards were Artos and Appleyards. Never had a Penny but better late than never.

I hear you man, older generations still swear for 50mm wheels tho. Thing is that the cracks in the place have grown considerably.
I was quite hesitant about 58mm (always skated 54 and sometimes 53mm) but I was curious + I wanted red wheels. Also a nice plus was that I was able to support a local shop from another city.
I was surprised how well the wheels worked for me.

8.25* Crail Perez twin on the new BBS wood
Brand damn new Venture 5.6 V-Hollow with flat top washer that comes with Bones Hardcores + stock bushings**
52mm OG Classics
Swiss
Pepper
Girl longnecks

Bummed I won't be able to skate this for weeks/month or more due to a minor hamstring pull and pain at the top of foot/ankle.

*Double bummed that actual measurement shows <8.25. And most bummethed Crail switched to BBS. Giving this a shot because I love all the G069s I've had but if the new wood is like other BBS, this will be the last.

**Tried my usual Indy orange cylinders, broken in, then Bones Hardcores (medium), new, and surprisingly neither turned as well as Venture stocks. This is my first time ever on Ventures.

Just wanted to update this as I'd heard from a guy with connections at BBS, said they're not doing Crail boards. Still hazy on where Crail is currently sourcing, whether PS or still China shops or a mix or ??

It’s definitely BBS for the last drop in the US, but probably China for other drops or every other country. I know they used PS for stuff like the Hello Kitty decks in the past, but have no idea about other countries.

I don’t know what’s happening with future drops. They’ll probably go with whateve gives them the highest profit margins.

My McCrank G096 (8.5” TT) had the same sticker as the Loveseat+ decks:

My guess is they act like breaks. The softer wider wheel will grab you for sure. I’ll do a 1/4” riser for a 58mm wide/softer wheel but im just carving on Aces. I’d like to see the top. The wheels gotta stick out. The whole thing is sick. Is that Stalin plaza still?

I’m skating the 8.5 twin I think it’s the g096 and it’s amazing. So much that I grabbed another at the shop. I like a long tail so this deck is pretty perfect for me.
The girl decks are $10 cheaper than dlx decks at the local as well

I got a couple of the JKJHNSN guest boards from Ampersand Pound (Scumco). Their site lists them as 8.375, but they are definitely 8.5.

When I first got it, I thought it looked wider, but I put my normal Ace 44s on it like I had for other 8.375 and it was severely magic carpeting. Measured it with a digital ruler and it's totally 8.5.

Just in case anyone cared.

I’m skating the 8.5 twin I think it’s the g096 and it’s amazing. So much that I grabbed another at the shop. I like a long tail so this deck is pretty perfect for me.
The girl decks are $10 cheaper than dlx decks at the local as well
It was fun, but a little unstable with the combination of the short wheelbase and AF1s. I should have tried Ventures, but I already gave it away.

Someone else was skating a Chocolate G096, and their tails were squared, unlike mine. It won’t be any time soon, but I’ll give the shape another try with V-Hollows if I see one similar to the Chocolate.

I asked DLX if they plan to release more Nicole Hause twin nose shapes, and never got a reply. That probably means that it’s not happening, so the G096 might be my go-to for my main setup in the future, unless I find a twin nose similar to the 8.35” Nicole shape.

I too recently purchased a JJ board from &# and noticed the board is wider than advertised. Not a deal-breaker for me; my 149s will fit. The new Pennswood concave looks very nice, looking forward to setting it up.
