I have a bit more respect toward Tyshawn now that I know he didn't feel like going on trips with him on adidas ^^

i've always been a frankie hater but tbh listening to this has humanized him quite a bit for me. he's clearly just a kid that sorta lacks social skills and feels a lot. sometimes that manifests in some cockiness, overdone celebrations, perhaps some unwise career moves or what could be perceived as inflated ego, but i really think he's just a bit insecure and has probably always had a bit of a hard time fitting in. hearing the way he talked about his friendship with tyshawn falling apart was a bummer, tyshawn clearly got a big head and thought he was too cool for frankie at a certain point. fair enough, he's probably not wrong and clearly the decisions Tyshawn made about who he should spend his time with have worked out for him and brought him a lot of success, but still sad to see.

Frankie's a very talented skateboarder and clearly really passionate about what he does. He'll never be my favorite (his skating is pretty hard on the eyes lol) but I think I'll give him more grace than I have in the past after listening to this

lol this dude is the real crazy Frankie.

He definitely means well, he’s just a bit too honest/unfiltered.

I always thought he was a jock for the celebratory roll aways, but after hearing the bs flip story it makes a lot more sense.

I’m rooting for Frankie, just talk a bit less, and celebrate off camera

Also the worst teammate ever explanation was so god damn funny. Frankie pretending to be asleep and holding in a piss while Lem was getting after it all night. What a beast.

I cackled like a wicked witch when I heard the soft burn on Jeffwonsong: "I didn't know you could skateboard for that long and not get better"

Favorite part in Honeymoon. I agree with Cephas—this interview made me respect him and like him more.

I’d like to submit the theory that Quasi(Gilbert Crocketts friends) demanded that Alien kick off Franky as a part of their new distribution agreement.

Yeah that was one of those things where the interview was so bad I couldn’t turn it off, but somehow gave a feel for this dude being a Long Island? kid that wanted a Range Rover in high school.

Was waiting for the violin to start playing during the whole Tyshawn ex friend thing. Weird

I like the fact that he quits a company, and a team manager, who was kind enough to loan him around 40 000 $ over the years for several surgeries.

That shows loyalty and gratitude.

I guess they stuck with him in bad times, but he did not. Especially if, as he said, it was a recognition problem rather than a money problem.

Anyway, the ego and confidence is wild. Dude approaches skateboarding like an NBA player or a douchy entrepreneur. I don't really know, but this is surely not inspiring to me.

His diction and calm composure makes him look like as nice enough guy though, but his claims and acts are definitely a turn off as a fellow skatemate or team mate.

Too bad Monarch is done because there would have been a spot for him right there.

I went, was fun but the second night felt kinda off. The venue was in a strange location that is pretty crap to get too without driving and the course being inside and quite a small space meant if you weren’t there early you weren’t gonna get a view of the skating. A lot of randoms there who didn’t look like they had picked up a skateboard since the 2000s THPS era heyday. But that was expected as even people I work with who have never skated knew it was on. They promoted the hell out of it.

Did anyone try one of the Monster cocktails they had at the bar? I got some dope tacos and a few beers and left after the awards.

The Tacos were legit.  Yeah, no Mason either and he was around.  Pretty bummed tbh.  Yeah, Port Melb sucks and it was hard to see what was going on.  At least I learnt that the highlights from these are just every single landed trick in order haha.

I’m amazed at the vans this guy has spent years in now, how have these teams put up with that arrogance, lack of loyalty/respect, and expectations?!

Really shot himself on this one…mad respect for Dono/Ghost’s attitude/advice on this one (they handled it well on their end imo)

This Frankie Spears episode is a top 3, easily. Actual LOLs.

Exactly, a LOL COW…maybe I answered my own Van question?

Haha so I sent Frankie a DM after hearing that shot at me. Normally I wouldn’t care too much but I’ve only shown support and said nice things to the guy so I figured Id see whats up. All I did was send the respect emoji a few days ago and he still hasnt opened it. Where as any other time Iv DMed him he answers almost instantly.

Strange huh?

Franky’s head seems so far up his own ass it’s insane.  He’s also not one that should be allowed to ridicule another persons style, since his is terrible.

I also saw somebody mention In his comments that Post Office email that questioned his sw back noseblunt clipping the hubba on the way out, and Franky had the audacity to say “it wasn’t fully my fault, since the ledge is beveled and a little higher on the outside”

G Unit stands for Gangsta and U Neighbors in Trouble

Mercedes built custom vehicles for nazis and they still do, that's longevity and business strategy which Franky can really get behind.

While it was funny at times, Frankie didn’t do himself any favors with that interview.

I don’t want to say anything too bad about Frankie Spears because I think that he has some issues and doesn’t pick up on things like social cues easily- but I will say that although he’s talented I much prefer watching @Pine skate.

I think Frankie commissioning his own Workshop medallion, aspiring to car salesman, and Pine being invited to the Bunt Jam - plus providing the opening trick - says plenty about the dude.

I listened to this during kitchen chores and dinner prep and was highly entertained. He’s like an Austin Seaholm with legit sponsors. I’m still confused as to how his mom is a teacher, he helicopters himself down stair sets, and he thinks his Jeep caused his hip injury?? Fascinating.
