Fuck I went into that episode thinking "this annoying fuck" and came out of it thinking "I fucking love this guy".
I think his takes on Palace are gonna ruffle some feathers because people are still clinging to the idea that Palace is cool but other than that I don't see what was controversial.
His takes on EDGLRD and fat bill had me fucking rolling.
"I'm too old for him". Fucking fatality.

EDIT - Also, I've seen and heard a decent amount of "pretentious" comments about him and...I dunno, I think y'all might just associate the British accent with pretension. I went into this expecting him to be a pretentious twat and came out thinking he's a real one. Watch some more British comedy movies and TV shows then re-listen to his episode or something.

this was the best episode ive seen awhile. always been a blondey fan lowkey. his takes are on point and is def a lowkey skate nerd. what he said about baker 3 being a gateway into culture was so true.

when he mentioned dills skate more part being his fav, i was so siked. i’ve always proclaimed thats my fav part of all time next to arto in sorry. people always would say dill in photo is better, but theres something so special about the skate more part that gets you so siked to skate. the song, the tricks, the simplicity.

I haven’t listened but how tf is back tail illegal
In the spirit of over-simplifying: he claims that the trick is so ubiquitous that it has become boring, and therefore illegal. He gives Hjalte a pass. Just listen to him explain it though.

Great episode. He sounds a bit pretentious but that's just what poms are like. I was howling when he talked about Strobeck

He isn’t British, he’s just pretentious. Or was it the other way around..

Very easy to hate (family wealth, image etc), but he is easily the most eloquent person they’ve ever had on. I didn’t find him rambling at all - more a great storyteller with interesting thoughts to articulate.

I go back to some of his montages regularly. Good material to get hyped on going out for a session.

i had a similar experience to gnaralarm with this one.

didn't really think too much of blondey as a personality prior to listening to this episode (have always liked his skating though), but after having listened to his episode i am now a massive fan. i respect his ability to not shy away from answering questions that others might not answer (and in great detail), and think that he is an incredibly well put together person.

blondey is pretty clearly quite a skate rat and i really enjoyed listening to him list off his influences as far as favourite skaters and how he kinda plucked certain tricks from each one, and his favourite videos/being inspired early on by bam and cky hit home with me.

loved it.

Hurts my soul to hear that Gabbers would be on Limo without this twat. Hope he atleast makes some decent money.
[close]

they obvs couldn't pay him, he would of been stuck as an am for a while, good for him

suprisingly, really enjoyed this episode, it feels like it's been ages since i actually had a laugh at one of these...there's a couple of goodun's coming up this season too, should be a barnburner
[close]

Gabbers has been pro for some time now, this wouldn't have been an Omar Salazar/Raymond Molinar-type situation...
[close]

You don't think? I can't see any other reason why he would choose Thames over Limo in that case, unless Blondey threw the bag at him that he couldn't refuse (which i hope is true)

could it be that he lives in europe and it was easier geographically/moneywise

I think there’s a nuance to it , if it’s like a parking lot demo where they come to the shop fuck it let them do their thing for the kids and let the kids skate a little with em after. If it’s a park or something though I think the kids should be barging it with the pros , that’s how you find new talent and build brand loyalty .
