i like these guys enough to listen to the podcast occasionally but let's not kid ourselves, it's always been clear to me that this is not a duo that's passionate about skate journalism and broadcasting, it always seemed like a means to an end for two guys who wanted to be involved in skating but weren't good enough to make it. neither of them have a personality suited for it, Cephas has a passable level of skate knowledge but has trouble translating that into engaging interviews and Dono is basically asleep at the wheel most of the time. follow-up questions are non-existent, no flow to the conversation, just follow the script and rarely challenge guests on what they say. they basically just were at the right place at the right time and began doing a skate interview podcast when there was essentially no competition other than the Nine Club. they were ever so slightly more edgy than the Nine Club because they talked more about party stories and encouraged guests to be a little spicy, plus they interviewed more contemporary cool/lesser known skaters which opened up a niche for them... but again right place/right time, really feels like anyone who tried could've filled that niche at the time because there's nothing about these guys that make them especially suited to be podcast hosts.
all that is to say that it's not even remotely shocking that once they got some industry clout (which seemed like the goal all along), they would be quick to adjust their product to maintain that clout because it never seemed like the product was the point.
