I am assuming it is Gifted Haters Patreon that really is the success story more so than his subscribers and Youtube views. I know the Nine Club has their Channel Nine which gets them money but wonder how their average earnings are compared to Joa. Granted I would hope the Nine Club is not the only thing these guys depend on for cash and they have to split it in so many ways where as Joa is a single person that takes in all of his profits.

Replacing Rog with Jeron and booting Eldy off the live show is when it went downhill imo. Even though Rog is kind of an introverted curmudgeon at least he actually knows the history of skating, Jeron is too stoned to care or be interested. Crob's whole schtick gets tiresome and it's sad because when he's more off the cuff he's actually semi-entertaining, he just doesn't have the charisma to play the role he gave himself. I don't mind Kelly as the hype man/fan boy, his enthusiasm is endearing even if he sounds like a SoCal frat boy. They should have kept Eldy and made the 5th spot a revolving door of regulars like Jeron/Mike York/Daniel Castillo/Vincent Alvarez/Returning guests. Someone else said earlier in the thread but I think they're better off doing a season format for the main show and every other week for the live show.

Crob has long mentioned howard stern as an inspiration for personally "running the board" during the show. Yet I feel that he ignores the factor that made the HS show entertaining: a rotating cast of chaos agents, weirdos, and derelicts. I feel that kind of flavor is missing and is vital to keep an ensemble show fresh. Not sure the Girl/Choc alumni squad has that spice though.

Eldridge is cooked...he was either too drunk or on pain meds, and would make no sense...not to forget the passive aggressiveness towards kelly for actually having on eS and getting pro models lol

I finally got through the PJ Ladd episode recently. It started off interestingly enough (I’m into that new age shit) but as the interview went on they just kept it so surface level that if he hadn’t have gotten into his board dimension nerdery I don’t think they would have had anything else to say. The last 30 minutes or so are filled with so much awkward silence I almost turned it off.

 
It’s like they didn’t want to offend him or something. Just vapid nonsense. Chris appears more disenchanted with each passing episode & clearly he’s just running this show out of routine and dependency. It’s 100% up to the guest to make the show interesting at this point so kudos to PJ for steering the interview with almost zero experience, because the bozos who own the set clearly have no clue what to do.

It’s like they treat every interview like it’s some trade show small talk and just hope they can drag it out for 2 hours. I hope they read this thread, accept the criticism & make some changes instead of listening to their echo chamber of old head stans who do nothing but shower them with praise.

Reasons why I think Eldridge got let go:

- Unreliable: In the early days, TNC was still trying to find it's footing with regular hosts, guests, segments and content. Naturally, everyone was expected to bring something to the table. It was pretty obvious Eldridge was failing to deliver and even show up sometimes. Granted Crob was doing a lot of stuff infront and brhind the camera but you could tell he was tired and salty with Eldridge.

- Random spiel: Eldridge was regularly saying totally bizarre and random shit all the time. Heirloom tomatoes, baby talk, stripper confessions, one wiping his ass with no look... There's funny randomness and then there's thick as two planks stupid. Eldridge weighed heavily into the later category.

- Crob's soundboard: Crob doesnb't seem to face criticism or confrontation head on. Instead he hid behind his soundboard to rip into Eldridge's weaknesses and failures.

- Money: This is my personal opinion but I reckon money was also a reason Eldridge got cut. Whatever benefits TNC was making, Crob and Rog were never going to split earnings five ways. I am almost certain Steezus and Eldridge felt their participation in skateboarding's premier podcast earned them a proper salary but seeing how little relvancy either of them had to contemporary skateboarding or the actual running/production of the show, I can understand why they got paid in free merch instead.

Eldridge also farted on live air with no kind of remorse, he has a certain level of aloofness mixed stupidity that can be endearing but also annoying after some time. There was an episode of his pick of the week show when he was on his own where he was walking to a restaurant with his baby in a stroller, then props a tripod to talk in front of his phone with his baby behind him in what looked like a slanted sidewalk. All I kept thinking was hopefully that stroller doesn't just start rolling down the street because he wouldn't be able to tell right away, I tried looking for the episode but it looks like he deleted all of them.
