swiss are machined more precise than reds. higher standards of quality control. if you buy swiss and maintain them, they can last you years while being noticeably faster than reds, too. so it's possible you save money in the long run, if you usually wreck bearings fast. but if you are used to trashing your bearings every 6 months, then the entry price can seem steep.
alternatively you can try reds big balls for a cheaper option, some say they skate almost like swiss 6. got a new set here but need a new set of wheels first to put them in, so i can't report.
