this is a pretty sick article I read a few weeks ago that goes into early devo and this whole weird scene that they inspired. its a good read and some of the bands they mention are really great. ive been really big into the uranium club and the coneheads lately. definitely give them both a listen if you havent before.

[close]

Killer! I only just started listening to Uranium Club within the past month and a half or so!

Coneheads I absolutely love! They have a bunch of great live sets posted up on youtube, and from the first time I ever heard "I Used to be a Cheesepuff" I've wanted to film a curb sesh/slappy video part to it.

Gonna check that article when I get a moment.

this is great! perfect

listening to this album today and it reminded me of a time i was on a first date with a girl. we were driving to wherever we were going and i just had my phone on shuffle and this song came on. we were both pretty nervous so there were plenty of silent gaps in our conversation and one happened right at the chorus part around 1:30. i think i waited until "get up in that bitch face and tell her ghost said 'take ya clothes off'" before i changed the song and made sure no more rap came on. she never said anything about it, but it was definitely an awkward moment for both of us.

hell yeah! was always partial to the St. Mathews passion myelf, the Ebarme Dich is some of the heaviest ever, always prefer the counter-tenor  over the alto versions

For sure the Matthaus is great, but I don't have that much experience with it. Maybe the John's has a little more 'go' to it? They're both sick anyway. And I'll see the Matthaus this easter, so maybe I'll shift after experiencing it in person.

Speaking of contra-tenors; I was just listening to this guy. No expert, but it's so heavenly I just wanna chill in that tree shade.

oh man, yeah that guy is super good, crazy to get such a tone from a falsetto voice, that it makes me wonder how falsetto it really is in his mind, bbc came out with a castrati documentary that's definetly cool imo

really digging parquet courts lately. i gave their 2016 album a listen but it really didnt do it for me the first time though so i kind of wrote them off as boring indie trying to copy some 80s post punk bands. recently a guy at work said he was really into their live album so i gave some of their old live stuff a shot and holy shit is it good.

Yeah, Human Performance is a bit too "once is enough" brand of experimental Wire, as opposed to Colin Newman pop sensibility Wire.

Not that I don't love me White Light/White Heat VU, or Chairs Missing/154 Wire, it's just that Parquet Courts earlier sound was less obviously derivative.

Light up Gold, and Sunbathing Animal are modern classics.

Following the death of Don Rickles, I watched the video where he interrupted Frank Sinatra's interview on Carson, but before he did, Sinatra mentioned that when he relaxes at home he listens to stuff like, "The Sunken Cathedral". So I looked it up, and I'm not usually one for classical, outside of a few favourites or listening to the radio, but I liked the progression of this.

My favorite XTC album. Because a PAL cannot live on "makin plans for nyjah amirite???" jokes alone... 1000 Umbrellas is one of my favorite songs ever.

theres a leak of the new mac demarco album out there. i havent loved everything hes put out, but hes had some good songs so i gave this new one a try. the music is good, but overall its a sad break up album and im getting married in a few months. probably wont be replaying it anytime soon, but if you just got your heart broken, it could be your jam!

I have a little Youtube ritual. If I'm just listening to music, and this song shows up in the related video selection, and I don't know what to listen next, I just put this on and chill.

Just played a show with Honey Radar; the one guy, Arman, has a very cool project in addition to being in Honey Radar, an absolutely fantastic band.
