Damn, I need to check this page more often. Already loads of great stuff on this page. I discovered Nancy a few months ago, love his sound.

I know I'm the biggest sucker for these guys, but they just got even cooler with these Chrome covers. I'd buy stock in John Dwyer if I could.

hell yeah! i am so astounded to not only come across someone else who knows who Velocity Girl is, but who likes them too...wow. that's a great song and from a great album--here's another favorite from that album

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Srpg71F68ro

i know this was on the Clueless soundtrack (surprisingly enough), but this was from an early 7", and i love this one too

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNWel2bx4pM

i saw them a few times in the early to mid-1990s, and at least once with Tsunami from Arlington, VA, who they were supposed to be pretty close with, and who i recommend if you have not heard...here's one of many favorites from them

That one is sick! But I gotta stick with On Patrol being the best as far as distilling the sound he had been working on up until then. Ancient Romans felt like a departure, and it was cool and much needed, but OP was like the perfect culmination of something. Some werid-ass antiquated futurism.

Today's vibe:

Wow, never thought I'd see Matthias' work posted here. One of my favourite current sound artists and an all around great human.
Recently snagged copies of the Antropocen & Öppna Vattendrag tapes. Sloppy, lo-fi field recording/tape stuff in the vein of early Jeph Jerman, Andrew Smith, Eric Lunde, etc.
Sorry for rambling on about noise stuff that nobody cares about.

@skate_or_dingus hell yeah, the whole Utmarken/Gorg scene is the shit. Öppna Vattendrag is actually my favorite of his, Antropocen being second. The newer stuff is super tight, though. He has an interview in the second issues of Eyestrain zine that is something I constantly revisit as a source of inspiration.

Considered getting a noise/industrial/PE thread popping but I feel like it would get dusty fast.

havent popped in here in a minute but can fully back that ancient romans did indeed feel like a departure, and everything after has yet to grab me like the earlier stuff did
i got to see him at sxsw right before that album dropped

also voting on patrol as the best

hey fred, sorry to run off with your post of a single song, but hearing "Crazy Town" has me all nostalgic and exploring, so here's this too

How do I not know this band? I've been a fan of Ian's music since I first saw Art Bars on Bluetorch TV back in 7th grade (what up Leeann  :-*). Seriously never even heard of this band.

@FrozenIndustries I'd gladly post in there regularly if you end up making one. I've thought about making one as well, but my rep is less than utable.
There's an excellent Facebook group (only reason to traverse at hellhole) that I help mod called "Noise Now Playing" that more-or-less serves as a hub for the entire noise scene. Really cool place, and the rules are relatively strict (no links, only post what you are listening to) to keep the Bandcamp spammers out.

Perhaps I'll make one and see.

I'm not on FB but a bunch of my homies post in there. Seems pretty sick and gives me some slight FOMO.

I've been listening to the podcast U Talkin' U2 To Me and had the urge to try to listen to some U2... Their earlier post-punk-ish stuff is great and it's a shame their hit songs have been played so much to the point I never want to hear them again in my life.
