Does anyone have any experience with the budget pedal brands like TC or Behringer?

Tc all day. Behringer break every time. I forget the name of the pedal brand. It’s like a Chinese Amazon thing. You know if you’re still doing Amazon, I’m not.

It’s called like JOHO? Perfect knock offs of expensive sought after pedals for pennies on the dollar hair

I will say though, I think there was some rumblings about the foot switches on some of their pedals. I can’t remember exactly what, but the general rule of thumb applies..

If you don’t abuse your pedals, they won’t have issues.

Unless we’re talking Boss. Those things will survive the apocalypse.

Full agreement here. Boss is my #1 and my number two is actually JHS rn.

I also love Uafx. I wish I went with that over the TC really. But I’m more than stoked by the tc ampworks line.

Epiphone dropped their version of my #1 most sought after guitar.

So this is a 54 GOLD TOP!!! oh my god. The only thing that would make it better is if it had a flat black top nitro refinish on it.

Idk if I told you but I think the secret to my style is the wraparound tail piece and the custom gauge strings. I can get close with all my other guitars, but that combination. With a high gain amp and a hot pickup I’m on. No pedals needed.

After I finish paying for the record, I’m buying one of these  glass for one of these right now it fucking two geez. Gd gd.

Had a major mishap with my guitar neck and it's fucked stripped the guts and stuff gave it to another friend for his own rebuild.

That being said I'm going to get another guitar for my 50th birthday. I need advice, I'm intermediate with skills but I'm contemplating an Epiphone SG or a Les Paul maybe something else shaped similar.

I play downtuned guitars before, I'm no showboat so much as play heavy riffs as well looking for a guitar that holds up with lower tuning... If anyone can make a suggestion I'd be interested in your thoughts...

Berhinger makes great knockoff clones not true bypass btw but exceptional to say the least. I'd like to add that TC makes a rad Rat clone called dark matter it rips I like it more so than the proco rat.

Have you tried those Joyo Bantamp mini amps? I've been giving them a look-see on YouTube, the zombie is supposedly a dual rectifier clone.

I haven't, but I just looked them up and they look neat.

This is the fuzz I have. Looks like they go for about 40 new.

Those Joyo pedals are excellent.

I was using the Ultimate Drive (a Fulltone OCD clone) for a minute on my bass board.

Anytime someone asked me about lower tune guitars I’m always gonna point them towards Ibanez. But I’m in love with my Billy Joe Armstrong jr. it has a pretty big neck so shouldn’t have any problem tuning low?

My purple s series Ibanez has been in drop A for about 2 decades. I’ve played a lot of of other guitars. There’s nothing that sounds better at that pitch. I’d go up against anything. 1997 or 8 I think. All the aural butcheryers stuff was done on it. You can hear it on band camp.

We used the new Tc 550 through a Rolland solid state’ in the studio yesterday. Close mic’d with a 57. I forget the model. It’s a two twelve. Sounded great.
I walked in tuned up and got it pretty much first try straight through the solo and all in one pass.
Then we overdubbed triple layer pick scratches. So they chase each other. I gotta teach my new guitarist that trick. Overlapping pick scratches are the shit.
He’s turning out to be the perfect rhythm guitarist as he is the first person I’ve met that can almost 1:1 my style.
Full bars. That’s the ticket.

Our st debut vinyl arrives in days. I have to find independent stores to give albums to.

I finally imported a guitar from Japan using Zenmarket. Got a deal on this 93 Grover Jackson RR Standard. Neck thru with a Poplar body and Maple neck and I'm pretty sure actual Pearl sharkfins. Has 3 dings and then the expected checks on the headstock and both horns but is in great shape overall. When I plugged it in, I noticed a ground issue and sure enough the bridge ground is loose in the cavity. These issues and the stock Jackson pickups probably made it so that I got it for about half of what the 2000-2010 JP Rhoads HTs go for. This is basically the prototype version of those guitars.

I need to get some used brand name pickups, resolder the ground wire and throw a capacitor on the Tone pot for 50's Explorer wiring. I was half inclined to just buy a wiring harness but the cavity is tight and they used mini-pots to make the control scheme fit. The minis are higher quality than I would have expected and I wouldn't even know where to begin sourcing something similar to what was available in Japan in the early 90s. Frame of reference, they are at least as smooth as a Bourns frictionless pot.

I love that guitar. The epi p90 is so good. I just could only use it for recording. Live the high e would ring the way I wanted in a big open chord. In studio it was the best for leads. I had a lot of choices. I wish I could try one of the epi USA versions

The homie has a Coronado think it’s called. Epiphone just released the same thing all over again for like 1200. He only paid four for it. 2020 was the year to buy epiphone. Wish I bought two bja jrs.

Fender makes the Coronado. You’re probably talking about the Coronet, which has a $400 Chinese model and a $1200 USA made one. If I won the lottery, I’d buy the nitro $1200 model, but mine is the $400 one your friend likely has.

Yeah, my first nice guitar with a 65 Coronet/Dwight with the batwing headstock, which is why I bought the $400 reissue. They're all great guitars, no matter what, from the Chinese Gibson factory which does set necks and all the various Gibson USA tricks for a fraction of the price. Same place making that gold top LP you linked above.

Does anyone have any pedal recommendations to put together a compact and budget friendly “shoegaze/dreampop” pedal board? I’m not a snob and not that great of a player, I’m ok with off brand and clone recommendations. Thanks.

Does anyone have any pedal recommendations to put together a compact and budget friendly “shoegaze/dreampop” pedal board? I’m not a snob and not that great of a player, I’m ok with off brand and clone recommendations. Thanks.
Behringer and TC Electronics makes cheaper pedals but still get the job done. I’d go for chorus, delay, reverb, vibrato and wah, but I don’t know the capacity of the pedal board you have or plan on buying.

Gd gd.

Was watching Dickie Betts last night and for the first time ever, wanted a Gold Top Les Paul.

Oh yeah. I’ve always loved them. And jrs. Also veez most.

Always wanted a double cutaway Jr., ended up with an Epiphone Coronet with a single P90, which does the job pretty well.

You’re probably talking about the Coronet, which has a $400 Chinese model and a 1200 USA made one. If I won the lottery, I’d buy the nitro $1200 model, but mine is the $400 one your friend likely has.

It’s crestwood. They got a 150th out now or something for like too much. Has a tricky trem. I like the one with the bat stock and the tail piece with mini humbuckers. That might be a Wilshire.

I tried out the USA and Chinese Coronets back to back and the difference was minimal. USA had a slightly better neck and a better pickup but was lighter and felt less substantial (and this is already a light guitar with somewhat terrible neck dive). It didn’t feel like it was worth a $1200 price increase.

I really wanted to get the Coronet but I passed on a crazy good Marketplace deal because I knew my wife would give me shit for buying another guitar and I was worried the guy was selling it cheaply because it had some issue. (Some of the ones I’ve tried in stores have felt great and then a few had stupid sharp frets)
