Popsicle. Have skated a couple of their shaped boards but the tails always seem to be too square and the noses too small for me

At least the Polar normal popsicles have big noses and smaller more tapered tails, not shorter tails though, as this 8.75 Polar tail looks small but it is longer than a few other 8.75 boards I have here as well, including DLX 8.75, Quasi 8.75 and a blank 8.75 so you should be happy on that one.

Medium wheelbase 14.375 as well so it is a pretty good all rounder, but everybody has their preferences.

Is there a significant difference between P9 and 1991 Jr? They look pretty similar just slight taper differences but are the concave etc the same? Does anyone have a strong preference?

If im not wrong p9 has a bit longer wb. Also shape Is different, p9 has similar looking nose and tail, 1991jr tail looks different than nose. P9 looks more like a contemporary shape, 1991jr looks more oldschool shape. But Anyway they skate both pretty well, so i had fun with both.
Im skating dane1 right now which Is pretty large. I had 1992 shape too which Is Amazing too.

Appreciate it. I'm skating a P9 right now, I like it but I'd like a longer or mellower tail. But all the Polar shaped boards apparently have 6.5 tails so I'm probably out of luck there. The Surf Jr. looks longer in photos but I suspect it's just perspective.

On skatedeluxe 1992 tail Is 6.62 or something, i really liked that shape few years agoes... Never tried the surf jr! What trucks you skating in the p9?

Indy Forged Hollow 149s. Might try some aces with the next deck though, esp if i can find one with wheel wells.

Im skating some 149 too on a dane1. Hollow axle but cast baseplate with regular kingpin. A Little bit small on a dane1 but Is pretty fun.

I knew the BBS / Generator on their Skate Samples site had a short version of the 8.25 and 8.5 boards, but they are still different dimensions to these, not by much, but it is interesting to see a number of companies now putting out shorter versions of similar shapes, eg DLX with the Tru Fit boards among others.

Are they not doing 8.38 anymore? I liked that shape if I could find it with a mellow nose cuz the tail was longer than the 8.5 and the nose is longer than the normal BBS 8.38 I like.

Yeah I have had one or more of almost every shape come through my hands.  The funny thing with the medium / large size boards in 8.6 and 8.75 is they look like they have big wide noses and taper down to small tails, but the tails were still longer than some other boards, just more pointy, but all still with the 14.375 wb on them, which might make some feel small.  Posting dimensions again for reference, but they do go up slightly from 8.5 to 8.6 to 8.7 etc.

There are lots, but double check you are listing it as 8.375 and not 8.38 - same thing, only 8.38 will bring up almost no hits on shop sites, where as 8.375 will bring up a good number, including on the Polar site.

I like the longer tail on the 8.3 boards, as well as the whole board feeling straight through the rail, not tapered at all the way some of the others look or feel.

I've been sampling a few boards and have reaffirmed my symbiosis with 14.37X WBs. Having tried a 9.1 (BBS egg 38.75"), Heroin 8.75 (32") and an 8.3 (31.9/twin), all with the 14.375WB. They felt the best of all I have on hand and were all, of course, totally different in the rest of the dims/shapes

They all felt great, but 'off'.

The 8.75" nose, like you mentioned, is just MASSIVE but the rest of it felt fine, that's why I'm eyballing the 8.65, just a smidge wider than 8.5 but the rest is seemingly 'normal' as the others also felt a bit short, so the 32.2 probably won't bug me.

I'm also heavily considering the DLX 8.5 x32.18x 14.3 WB but wonder if it will still feel too narrow. That 8.75 kinda spoiled me but it just LOOKS big with that nose.

i usually skate the 8,5 eagle or a dlx board with the same dimensions
the polar feels really similar, the nose is a little longer and steeper i think and the tail a little pointier

i will also say the short shape 8.5 is so much fun. will also buy a 2nd one. I think there is also an 8.25 short with a 14.0 wheelbase.

Yeah I would say the typical BBS concaves, so for some people they are steep, others medium feeling, definitely not so much on the mellow side, just from the dozen or so different Polar boards I have had or seen, although the 8.75 shape was often a little more mellow than the smaller options.

BBS normal concave is about 23 to 24 degrees, eg 24 nose, 23 tail, sometimes 25 nose, 24 tail, but also sometimes 23 nose and 22 tail, if that makes any sense from checking other angles of kicks.

I’m kinda bummed on that too.  When I saw this drop, I scooped up some more 8.75’s from the prior drop. 

I’ve only been skating Polars for a couple years (not exclusively).  Anyone know if wheel wells are somewhat common historically? 

Edit: I’ve been skating for almost 40 years, i’m very familiar with the history of wheelwells. My question was poorly phrased, but I was trying to ask if Polar historically makes boards with wheelwells or if that was a one off for that drop.

i'm pretty sure wheelwells were an ask from hjalte, so maybe with him leaving they've stopped? bummer though, wheelwells are awesome.
