Mocking aside, I think his semi-ambidextrous style is an actual milestone in skateboarding.
NOBODY can
carve in both stances like this guy without looking like they're just frozen in a fakie posture.
The ability to balance with total stability regardless of stance is not a gimmick (while noting the gross branding it's getting)
It's a gift.
He is going to invent bowl lines the likes no one will be able to copy until people start working on their most basic foundation of riding a skateboard in both stances with real stylish confidence.
Many are criticising his lack of street and glut of venice footage. It's obvious the industry knows about him and I think the real exposure of his potential is yet to come.
His "rise to fame" is not what I want to see from him. That graphic is just weak and the board is over-priced. BRYTE is a cloying and immature name. The logo makes no impact.
Call me a
suppressive person but none of that stuff matters, if he sticks around he could be a legend.
Eventually, I hope to see him on an actual super team of diverse mutant skaters that show their inimitable approach to what's possible without ham fisted typecasting.
