Lmao this is LITERALLY equal to Braille/Revive.

Saying something is equal to Braille / Revive is a pretty big compliment! Not sure its in that league. Sure you guys despise youtube skate celebs but they will have the last laugh at us stupid old-core fucktards as they cruise past in their Bently.

You have skewed life priorities and a tainted interpretation of what’s good for the culture.

I just think it’s funny that the little goat is wearing a little shirt. How did he get that shirt on? Will he eat the shirt next?
Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

Borra of “the establishment.” On martyrdom.

I thought he might delete this rant, but instead he just edited it. This is the original. Basically calling out Deathwish for not “fast tracking” this kid to the pro ranks like they did Foy. EE and Greco “legacy pros.”

That post reads like he's actually admitting to starting a company just to put someone's name on a board. What the fuck does "pro before anyone put his name on a board" mean? The skateboard deck industry is in shambles. There's sooo many companies. Being "pro" is pretty much meaningless, it's just used to get companies a cheap pop on social media. There should be some self regulation from some people. This isn't far removed from someone just ordering custom print decks off AliExpress with their own name on them to sell on their Squarespace website and calling themselves a pro skater.

This is what comes of reading all those comments on Youtube videos from 11 year olds who don't have their own money saying "omg HOW is this guy not pro" and thinking they actually know what they're talking about

Mocking aside, I think his semi-ambidextrous style is an actual milestone in skateboarding.
NOBODY can carve in both stances like this guy without looking like they're just frozen in a fakie posture.

The ability to balance with total stability regardless of stance is not a gimmick (while noting the gross branding it's getting)
It's a gift.

He is going to invent bowl lines the likes no one will be able to copy until people start working on their most basic foundation of riding a skateboard in both stances with real stylish confidence.

Many are criticising his lack of street and glut of venice footage. It's obvious the industry knows about him and I think the real exposure of his potential is yet to come.

His "rise to fame" is not what I want to see from him. That graphic is just weak and the board is over-priced. BRYTE is a cloying and immature name. The logo makes no impact.
Call me a suppressive person but none of that stuff matters, if he sticks around he could be a legend.

Eventually, I hope to see him on an actual super team of diverse mutant skaters that show their inimitable approach to what's possible without ham fisted typecasting.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that over his weekend he went from skating in Nikes (which he just got hooked up with not too long ago, made a post about it and seemed genuinely stoked about, which I would have been as well honestly), to skating in some brand of shoes ok pretty sure no one has ever heard of that isn't yet even involved in skateboarding. They seem like a direct to consumer, internet brand of shoes. Don't quote me on that, I know absolutely nothing about them.

Steve Berra is a smart dude, I will give him that. Because of his history in the industry, I think he is able to recognize talent and potential that is applicable to the industry in someone before they themselves do.

By doing this he is able to con young up-and-comers like "Skategoat" into being part of his lame projects because he doesn't actually have anything worthwhile to contribute to the industry himself. You can see this in the Berrics instagram as it is essentially just a repost account (that should be compensating every single person whose content they repost, but that is a different story).

In the end, Steve gets to make a quick buck and the talent he used will forever have the mark on their record of being part of some lame scientologist shit with Steve "Fake Spots" Berra.

Christ.

Also, they don't look THAT bad and the ethical stance they have is kinda cool. But for $90, I'll stick to sale rack New Balances.

Older boards have so much value because not many realized the significants of the art/skaters back then.

Not many people saved boards so finding them now in pristine condition makes them iconic especially with how popular skating has gotten.

Putting a label on a board fresh off the press and claiming it’s going to have some significant impact on the future of skating is really corny.

World never put out ads saying buy these boards now in twenty years they are going to be 10x the value

I know it really doesn’t matter but Bryte skateboards has zero followers on Instagram. Can’t tell if my phone is glitching or something but I find that surprising with the berrics bump.

I keep checking it’s kind of amazing

Anything limited edition is fucking stupid. Younger me would disagree with this, I collected so much worthless crap. It's all subjective and it's just my opinion but marketing stuff as limited edition is just that, marketing, these days.

They don't need followers because the only place you will see Bryte Skateboards is on The Berrics anyway.

Berrics the board company?

Looks like the old Shorty's Snow logo minus the terrible colors. Fuck the berries, and fuck this wretched company with prolly the worst logo/name of all time.

My first thought was the Shorty’s Snow logo had a lovechild with the Olympic Rings.

The branding is awful. Looks like something you'd buy at Wal-Mart or Target. Skaters like Berra and Shane O'Neill who have no artistic taste need an art department to craft their brand's image. Otherwise you get stuff like April and Bryte.

The whole hype around him actually left me less interested. How to be pro in 10 days click bait BS. It doesn't feel genuine at all. He's got to put in the work to be respected in the community. By work, I mean video parts as an amateur. Skating Venice everyday is not going to cut it. In my opinion they went about this totally wrong. I personally won't be purchasing a deck and I feel like I want to stop following the Berrics and "Skategoat" on IG because of this trash.

I love his skating and he is one of the moat talented skaters out.  Given that, im doing my best to not shit on this.

Considering how short-lived and volatile this skateboard-pays-the-bills thing is i dont blame him for taking help from anybody down the help him, i just don't like how Berra seemed to over use his support for more views and content (and I dont mean skate footage).

Berra has make him a flavor of the minute and he dserves more than that.

Leandre is amazing, and if this is how he has to suppport himself for now, it is what it is, but id be lying if I said he wasn't getting played out already

I feel the same way, I haven’t had insta in like 6 years now but I have a distinct memory of unfollowing berries before I deleted lol. They’re on some Clickbait YouTube skater Vlog shit and it’s really disappointing considering I used to love going on their website.

You have skewed life priorities and a tainted interpretation of what’s good for the culture.

If you are saying skaters who make money a priority in life are wrong / bad for the culture thats your take but its a short sighted one also. No industry can thrive without its top dogs getting paid and inspiring the next gen to risk it all by going all-in. If you want to see 'bad for the culture' go visit an ex pro who broke their body off and are unable to even pay the rent on a shoebox. I know a few in LA / Bay area and its fucking depressing hanging out with them. They are so bitter and dark towards skating as a 'career' due to how badly it fucked their lives up and left them with nothing.
