Bit of a random question but when is the best moment to shoot a long grind on a flat ledge. First quarter, second, third, fourth?

My friend was doing a fake FS noseslide on a 14ft ledge but I couldn't figure out where to capture him. On something going downhill or over a gap then it seems more intuitive but on a flat ledge it seems a bit more tricky.

it really all depends on the trick and ledge but in this case Id say like 2nd or 3rd quarter for a single shot.

you could also, use a tripod and shoot and merge several frame into one and you could have him in all 4 quarters too. these are my recommendations but would love to read/see more!!

Anyone using Pocketwizard TT1 and TT5s? With on camera flash I can sync at 1/250th fine but with the radio triggers I can't sync faster than 1/180th without banding.

After some research I guess there's a latency with the radio signal getting sent to the remote flashes so you can't sync at 1/250th. Wonder how Blabac did it as loads of his photos are listed with 1/250th and flash (maybe it was just on camera flash)

Cardiel ledge. Used only one flash but wish I had another setup. Had some motion blur on some shots and even the one captured was a hair blurry but still worked out okay.

Lots of variables for that lag.  Could be the TT1 and TT5 interacting.  Could be the cables you're using.  Maybe even batteries with low life.  Could be the camera combined with the pocket wizards.

There are lots of other gear combos that could get you that full 1/250th.  Maybe all the same branded camera, transmitter, and flashes?  Like all Nikon if that's what you shoot.  Blabac could be using a whole profoto system.  So transmitter and lights are the same brand.

I'm running Godox TT685II with their dedicated transmitter on a Nikon D610.  I did the experiments from the Hammeke video on a blank wall.  I get banding at 1/250th, BUT this flash set up has HSS (high speed sync).  That's different than the hypersync talked about in that video.  Flash technology has advanced quite a bit.  With HSS turned on, I can shoot way faster shutter speeds without banding.  I haven't tried much over 1/1000th.  The downside to HSS is you lose flash power.  So there's a tradeoff.

Maybe see if you can do HSS with your setup.  Might not be possible with pocket wizards combined with the flashes you're using.  Or look into getting those Godox speed lights.  They're pretty affordable.

Hey yall,
I’ve been bugging friends and lurking threads trying to find this picture. It’s a dude skating a bench, I want to say concrete bench on a tiled plaza over looking what I believe is a Latin American country, with a zillion houses/buildings crammed together in the background. I’m almost certain this isn’t a photo of an American pro and I wanna say the trick is like a back tail, or something. For what it’s worth the houses/buildings are all very very colorful, like reds blues yellows.
Pls help
For someone w.no signature ur awfully hostile, & that is why I do this

Due to a thing called ‚kids‘ I barely go out skating anymore. Took the chance last week and even shot 2 pics. 2 flashes left and right, xsync at 1/60 and 1/250
