Ben Degros is into the alt-right and conspiracy theories
« on: January 10, 2021, 01:06:40 PM »
A bit ago, Ben Degros posted a clip shared by Robert Kennedy Jr. called "Planet Lockdown". Here is the link to the video: https://www.instagram.com/p/CJZgDnnl8B6/

He posted it with a caption saying something along the lines of "this is how I have been feeling lately"

Within half an hour, he deleted it from his highlights and deleted the post (probably due to immediate backlash).

The video in question has multiple conspiracy theories including the 2020 U.S. election being "rigged".

A buddy sent me this video saying "sit down and strap in for this one." For the first day it left me feeling shitty and rather confused. By the 3rd day after I watched it I very quickly began pointing out that it's a far right propaganda tool, invoking legitimate concerns about government over reach, corruption, and the decline of US empire, but leaving no room for actual solutions of change that truly serve the people and planet.

The lady, Catherine Austin Fitts, a trump supporter, interviewed at length has been involved in the Republican Party since at least the GHW Bush years, she/her company was a financial advisor to HUD. I find it odd and disingenuous that an incredibly wealthy, right leaning investment banker wants to wake the world up to the goings on of the tech elite. She argues that Bill Gates is trying to alter our DNA through vaccination. She says something to the effect of "I'm not saying people aren't getting sick, but it's being used to push trans humanism and slavery," going on to declare that this is the start of global slavery (as if it weren't the case with capitalism in the first place).

she has also said

published on 12 Feb 2017, 6:46
How does Donald Trump win against the evil trying to stop his Administration?Financial expert Catherine Austin Fitts contends, “Trump wins by staying focused on the real issues. The U.S. economy needs a variety of things, including turning the federal budget around. . . . . The reality is the federal budget has a negative return to taxpayers. It’s got to be turned positive. . . .That comes down to tax reform, infrastructure and it comes down to Obama Care. . . . Trump is the Titanic Turner, and he needs to stick to the big issues. . . . He has to make sure the shriek-o- meter does not destroy his top lieutenants and put space between him and them.Otherwise, the pigs are going to step in and run things.”

In closing, Fitts says, “What’s killing this economy is corruption and lawlessness. That’s what’s killing the economy. We need to deal with these problems.”

I know.
It's pretty bat shit. I'm not trying to be an apologist. I don't know Ben.

I don't think he's in with the scum. He probably just frightened like everyone else.

It's time for everyone to come together not move apart. This video may touch on few truths (historical stuff about slavery and england) but it's designed to further fear and division.

Oh ya, man, I wan't responding to what you said and I don't know anything about Ben Degros. You're absolutely correct about the furthering of fear and division. It's crazy how the mind goes when folks are scared.

Excellent vid about the psychology and logical conclusions of right-wing conspiracies like flat earth and QAnon. If you have a couple hours (it is quite deep and well-researched) please check it out.

Seems like everyone in skateboarding is going down that rabbit hole or should I say toilet swirl. I wish the ones who see through the bullshit were more vocal about it.

No, I just think the ones that are going down that "toilet swirl" are more vocal about it. You don't hear about the ones who see through it because they're just like most of us and have a grasp on reality. That being said, I will agree that there is a good number of skateboarders that do end up as freedumb fighter kooks, but what can you expect from guys that haven't read a book since the 8th grade and have never had a real job.

Yeah I'm not buying this crap the right an especially it's fear paranoia is just what they want to indoctrinate us in to.

Idk Ben neither just cause he's Canadian doesn't mean he's full of crap, I think anyone who has a mild fascination to find truth's regardless of it is acceptable to other's it is their own business.

I happen to believe in my opinion whatever sorts you in life be you if that's being a rightwing snowflake or leftist cuck it doesn't matter. I have more respect for someone sticking to their guns about certain issues then some halfwit coward who plays two sides of the same coin.

He's probably feeling a bit vulnerable after stressing out about the wheelbase on his new board or figuring out what trucks to ride with it. Give him a break.

Also, pretty sure he wore a Benny The Butcher shirt in one of his videos. Ben is cool.

If you're above 30, neither alt right, nor all these champagne socialists will do.

If you want any chance of passing progressive policies in the real world, your larping dipship online retards will get nothing done.

But sure, it is so easy to take stands on Twitter..

I agree very, very much. The truth is, left wing economic policies would appeal to people that voted for Trump twice if you removed a lot of the left wing rhetoric on race. Lots of flyover America has been stranded without employment, rewarded with opioid addictions, and told they aren’t worthy of compassion. That’s how you create the level of anger we’re seeing and it’s time to acknowledge it.

You mean the same people who are always telling minorities and other marginalized groups that racism and discrimination don't exist in America and to stop complaining and get over it? The same people who got worked up into a dangerously stupid mob of racists because they ate up the lies fed to them by people like Trump and other right wing propagandists who intentionally weaponized their preexisting prejudices?

Translation - the economic policies of the left are cool but they say we're not allowed to be blatantly racist, which is a deal breaker. Tons of racist bumfucks who have no valuable skills and hence no quality employment feel so sorry for themselves that they are drug addicted and expect a hug, a blanket and some free money from the government... but also socialism sucks you fuckin commies! The anger comes from being so incredibly stupid that you actually believe the very obvious lies told to you by republicans.

Medicare for all, but only for white people! Pay no attention to the two hundred years of slavery, genocide and institutionalized racism that have stratified class for most African Americans, Indigenous people, or people who live on those islands that are part of the United States, but don't have statehood and are certainly not colonies that we extract wealth from, test our nuclear weapons on, use as shell corps to hide our wealth from taxation or ignore once a hurricane destroys most of their infrastructure!

Deep Thoughts with Jack Handy here:

What is the most benign conspiracy theory/dillusion someone could have?  Like if you had to pick one for yourself or a family member, what would it be?

Of the top of my head, I’d say the one where you think that the whole world is on a really big turtle’s shell.  It’s kind of a fun one and seems pretty harmless.
