pennswood 8.75/31.75/14 wb
7.12 nose/6.75 tail
medium to steep concave
steep nose and tail

just bought one and there seems to be more in stock
cant recommend this shape enough and a steal @$30
if nobody states interest i wont hesitate to buy the rest!
while cool-guying is a real phenomenon, studies show that 83% of all cool-guying incidents can be attributed to the cool-guyee being an awkward weirdo

How does the 8.5 compare to the 8.75? I probably should be riding an 8.75 but don't want to let myself get too used to such a rare shape

i wouldnt say its crazy rare

a few other board brands are also putting the shape out
another bonus is that these things refuse to die
i have a scumco in the shape from a year ago, still kicking

I have seen some wider boards snap so quickly, but in general I would say that wider boards do tend to last longer than others that are not so wide.

Maybe a bit more concave helps with the longevity or distributes the pressure of bad landings a bit more evenly too, but I guess it is all down to how anyone lands.

*** Sorry I probably went a little overboard on this one ***

The irony is that all those Element boards have the dimensions laser etched into the top of the board, but more often than not what they give to shops in terms of information and even on the Element sites are sometimes not the correct dimensions, so I don't quite know how they can be so bad at this.

Comparisons:

https://www.skatedeluxe.com/en/element-daley-demon-8-875-skateboard-deck-white_p153344

https://www.tactics.com/element/sascha-demon-8875-skateboard-deck

So from looking at the close up on Skate Deluxe, it actually has "Made in Europe" as the first line, so it is not the usual BBS board, or at least this one is not, the width and length on the second line and the nose, tail and wb on the third line, but it is too hard to make out in that pic.

I would say that it appears to be 8.75 x 31.75, N 7.12 T 6.44 WB 14 as there doesn't look like there are enough characters for the 14.25 or even 13.94 or something at the end.

Close up on Tactics shows "Built by BBS" and although it was hard to make out details, it does look like N 7.0, T 6.5 and enough room for 13.94 wb on the printing there, so it could be different to the EU version.

So I went for a look for anything else too, Element Demon deck being the key words that worked best, with some curious results but I wonder if the different countries make what could be the same board with different woodshops, BBS in USA, HLC in Europe and have different boards / different sizes.

All up I would say that the 14 wb is about right, but really could be 14.25 or under 14 still.

The So Cal shop measurements just seem like they are for a different board entirely, but who knows.

8.875 X 31.74
No mention of wheelbase, but the shorter length alone should mean it is about 14

Just scooped one up! You are so right about Pennswood feeling great from start to finish. I've been on a Scumco 8.5 logo since January and it's in great shape. Having this is gonna allow me to set it aside for a while and try out the Anti-Hero mis-register...

That looks like it would work well for the people who like the Chico boards, similar shape with a shorter wheelbase.

The 8.5 misregister eagle is treating me so well. Real snappy after I got used to the steep-ish kicks. I'd definitely buy another one

Hey I am Josh

I am one of the 2 owners of Dert Skateboards in Maine. if you DM'd us or emailed you got a reply from me.

thanks for reaching out

Yes our next batch of boards is coming from Penns Wood and we did work with Joe to replicate the concave, wheelbase and overall shape of our Anno Domini boards.

Our original intent was to use PW but Joe got really busy during the Pandemic so...

here are some pictures i snapped from our 8.75

by my measurement it is 8.75" wide 32.5" long a 6.75" tail and a 7" (maybe a 7.10) nose with a 14.25" wheel base

We do still have some of our AD boards in stiock and our next drop is coming out soon

Yes it is confusing, but even the 8.3X (be it 8.375 or 8.38) size board has two different lengths in the BBS wood as well.

The normal longer one at 8.38 x 32.25 with 14.5 wb, which is the same as the DLX, Baker, Birdhouse, DGK etc board.

Then the shorter one at 8.38 x 31.92 with 14.25 wb or something like that, which I bought thinking it was the normal one (listed with the normal dimensions) but then realised it was the shorter one.

Best to see in person and compare, especially as some of the newer boards also seemed to be generic "Made in China" boards from some pics from Skate Warehouse recently.

They have been really cheap / on sale here, which is why I get them, really only for the wood and the shape, then blank the board to have a good BBS board for half the price.

tuned into one of the Heroin instagram lives where Fos was giving a preview of the new season. Looks like there's gonna be a few wide/short options. A symmetrical double shovel and a shovel egg at an estimated 14.2 and 14 respectively.

sorry for the late response but i'm 100% sure that the element board i had wasn't bbs (although these are also available where i live). it had the element logo with "made in europe" underneath stamped on the top ply

the europe elements will be pressed at HLC then no?

element shapes in europe are different than in the us, i had a madars apse deck not too long ago, it was 8.3 x 31.9 something with a 14.2 wheelbase. that exact graphic was listed as 8.375 x 32.25 with 14.5 wheelbase on some american sites.
