Love it. Are you going to stick with the ventures when they're done?

luckily there's still plenty of life in them, i tend to skate trucks until i find they're inhibiting my skating - this is usually when the axles get past the point of rethreading. still have yet to lose a truck to complete structural failure though i was damn close on a set of thunders once. i also like to tinker a fair bit and go through multiple bushing setups so i can find what works best. i just threw in the bones hardcore blues and also stopped skating risers for the first time in around 6 years, that combo is working pretty well, so yeah when this set is dusted i will probably grab the same pair/bushing combo. may try and pair them up with a 14wb 8.5 too, i've heard that's a good combo.

Stained boards don't get a lot of love on the scrape report so here's a "one old man session on a tall double sided curb" report from last weekend...

I have 3 decks on ice but I think this one has a lot of life left. First world problems, I know.

Retired due to razor tail. It was fun seeing the scrapes reveal the embossing. Red bottom ply isn’t my first choice but it does make the deck look kind of “bloody “ which I guess is fitting for the Scrape Report.

This 8.5 full Real has been to the curbs a couple times. Great shape for those.

I have a fresh 8.0 set up waiting for the sun to come out (red bottom ply, too). Really cool pattern with the scrapes and debossing. Lots of ledge lipslides?

This deck is almost perfect for me (I have serious madness regarding deck specs, for me, the tail could be like 3mm longer). If you like BBS decks and a 6.58 tail with a 14.25 wb, that is good. A little bit under 32" long, more like 31.9". Oh and 8.25 width.

And I am really used to BBS decks and this is one. They always last me a good while and they very rarely break for me. Next on the line is a Magenta, also in 8.25

Dark stains + scratches always look the best for me; it’s subtle but when the light hits it at the right angle!

Impish sausage is definitely gonna blow up as a euphemism this year

I wish! Mostly boardslides and fakie boardslides on a pretty wide double sided curb.

Even better. My favorite kind of curbs. Glad I have some cool-looking scrapes in my future.

are 14wb 8.5 boards common? I want a 14wb 8.25 board and that's hard enough to find

But it works for me!
Wanted to try 8.25 and move up to 144 but I’m too old and comfortable with what I have now.

Some companies bring out a lot more boards with shorter wheelbases than others, so it can be very brand or woodshop specific.

Pennswood woodshop has a number of 14.0 wheelbase board options that some people ride regularly from Slap.

Some boards from DLX - Real, Antihero in particular have shorter wheelbase options, as well as some boards from Santa Cruz / Creature, a couple of shapes from WKND or other PS Stix variant in 8.25 with 14.0 wb I think, April decks have shorter wb, just for starters.
