Seeing Carl in adidas today felt so wrong. He’s like one of the main guys that’s gotten me hyped on nikes lately. Could overall be a good move of adidas gathers up a solid younger crew of more steezy/trendy guys. I’d be down for some new adidas models that don’t look like soccer shoes

Carl’s been one of my favorite skaters to watch for the past two years or so. I liked him in Nikes as I’m not a fan of Adidas as all. It would take a lot to get me to buy a pair of those. But if Adidas is going to pay and support him then I’m all for it.

I think Nike has been shedding some of their flow team. Carl is now getting adidas and Adrianne Sloboh is getting Cariumas.

I honestly prefer the 3 stripes. Even as a kid I always hated on Nike. Big brands gonna be big brands but I feel like I have less to hate about Adidas. Plus they fit my feet pretty good, whereas the only Nikes that ever felt good were my brothers air force 1s back in the late 90s/early 2000s. I only ever wore em inside the house when he was gone.

Honestly saw that clip on insta of Carl and barely even noticed he went from Nikes to Adidas.

I just watched that clip before hopping on Slap and didn't notice it either. I think with the cuts Nike's reportedly making, if Carl has a better shot at getting a paycheck from Adidas I'm all for it. And I really don't think a jump from Nike to Adidas is that jarring aesthetically. Carl on something Sole Tech would be weird, but like I said, I didn't even notice he was wearing Adidas so Carl still looks like Carl. As for Kader, I'm sure adidas will do good by him as long as he doesn't decide to dip at some later age.

As I’m a black skater I’m not offended by this an understand it at the same time. But I disagree ppl like Justin Henry look great in vans. Younger Kader pulled off vans well but I think with his grown man style with his dreads adidas is a great fit for him.

They’re shedding WAY more than the flow team. Try all the employees that built the brand, the original TMs, they just laid off all the reps in Europe this week as well. With their new CEO and direct to consumer plan, skating no longer fits their model. If you’re going to support a corporate brand at least make it /// or Vans as they are still investing in the skate culture.
