“How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb stock bushings”
Honestly, I feel like my overall quality of life improved once I stopped fidgeting with my bushings & riding them stock.
EDIT: Full disclosure, though… I replace the factory top cup washers w/ flat jawns on every set of trucks before I ever bolt ‘em on. Bushings, I don’t fuck wit’ no more.
I think that the main thing with bushings is to break them in gently and then they will last the life of my trucks.
Most of my setups are a set and forget type deal, so at least when I know what I am going to do, setting them up the same way works almost every time, regardless of what people would do to their trucks from purchase to skating.
That said, I have been experimenting with different options on a couple of new setups, just because I can, trying out all the options in the aftermarket Indy bushings mainly in this adventure.
Softer top bushing means the truck will be almost the same, just a little more turn than with whatever was in there, but softer bottom bushings mean a lot more turn, but with a firmer top, they are still pretty stable.
The conical bottoms are way more responsive than the cylinder bottoms too - crazy how much difference that makes for the same duro in the different shapes, especially on the really deep turns.
