These T2 pivot cups are MAD squeaky like Indy’s
Can you use riptide?
i had one t2 pivot cup tear, only after 4 seshs. ended up switching to thunder 97 bushings, couldn't get the original ones to stiffen up. im only about 185 and ride medium.

Is that 97 the red ones? I changed to those as well (T2 stock -> regular Thunder red bushings) and it changed the trucks completely from unusable to totally usable with a certain type of deck...

Yea I’m digging my half and half’s, I had some old AF1 hard barrels and swapped out the tapered T2 bushing, and left the top the stock T2, nut flush, still carvy and can get a good pinch on them, sucks about the pivot cup though, maybe riptide?

He was skating T2's in his most recent post. Time will tell if he stays on them, I remember him posting a clip of him on AF1's back when they were released and he seemed to quickly revert back to T1's.

He's still skating normal Thunders and risers. Although the height would suggest it's a straightforward swap, the wheelbase is .375" shorter on T2 and the pop feel isn't remotely the same (I've ridden both fairly extensively).

I dunno how to post on here but if you screen capture his line and slow mo it you can see the bushings are not the bright blue, the trucks have black bushing washers, and it's an optical illusion because of one truck having a ton of crook marks/wax. In the last line you get the best view and you can see the hanger isn't as chunky.

It seems pretty predictable who is and isn't going to switch. They tagged Cromer but he hasn't switched his shit in a decade and still posts his normal setup. Dustin Henry looks to be on them but it makes sense since he skates tons of parks. I think Una and Simon are also on them. I'm sorta surprised Manderson didn't help with the design and ride for them considering he was on Thunder in the past and then was on Indy, but he's the modern day rad transition-ish/ATV skater Venture needs.

I could be wrong but this hanger shape looks like T2 to me.

I thought so too, but you can see that the bushings are the wrong color and then in other shots, it looks skinnier who knows

Or he found the stocks too soft and swapped them? It's been known to happen.

All the team riders got em. Makes sense since he skates forged ti for a lighter/faster pop. T2 are taller, but the WB is a half inch shorter on them. My guess is he cranks the shit outta them since he does his normal ones.

What will be more interesting is who stays on them 6-12mo from now.

Not at all that I have seen or heard, but the main thing is Thunder seems to be adding the hex mold to their baseplates, so it is very easy to knock out the normal kingpin and then use an inverted kingpin on them without having to do too much work, as per the upgrade to the regular Thunder baseplate a while back.

I was looking for good pics and came across this post with a very good close up (Frame 7) of the baseplate which seems to show that they have included this option again, so a nut should fit very easily into the baseplate for anyone doing it themselves.

Gone since 1988.  I talk too much about skateboards.  Sorry.

Maybe he’s gonna be the first to get a pro T2 and Ishod gets a pro V8 Venture as a trade off.

So, anyone already put T1 hangers on the T2 baseplate? Would the pals think it will work? I don't want to buy T2's if I can't change the hangers.

Nope. They are keeping it simple with a Fantastically Great pro for the first pro T2.

DadBoard has an interesting follow up review for the T2s.

He mentions the three step bushing break in process, which I have long believed in. (my stage 4s went exactly like this)

1) Squishy and unresponsive 2) firming up 3) settling into baseline squish with responsiveness

You can speed up this process by getting a nice Persian Rug and wiggling back and fore while you SLAP. also good for ankle strength building.

T2 back in the virtual shopping cart...

Ok
