The handle on that Kodak mug looks fucking perfect, looks like you could fit a gloved bear paw in there.

Also made me realize that tall and narrow mugs >>> wide and low mugs

I have an old cup with the Coca Cola logo on it, my parents have had it for as long as I remember, so I took it with me when I moved out. Don’t know why it’s my favourite, but it is. It has to be over 25 years old.

A tiny splash of almond milk and that’s it, two cups if I have time.

Got this for fathers day a few years ago.
It's my favorite because it's accurate on both accounts.

Get hungry on it!

Ain't much but she mine

Son of a bitch, ya'll played good against my Dodgers this weekend.

I don't buy anything besides some food sometimes from Starbucks, maybe around Christmas for people I buy them a mug from there, but I grabbed on of these probably like 7 years ago. I love it because it holds a ton of coffee and is pretty solid.

I found this cup in the basement of my school amongst things left up for grabs. The rim is dark blue, not black as the photo insinuates, and it's the color I really like about it.

Coffee's made of freshly grounded beans in a French press spiked with a little bit of milk till it's golden brown..

V60 is a great thing to own. I had a ceramic flat bottom dripper for awhile but it broke. Thankfully a friend got me a plastic V60 when he was in Japan for $10. I never used it and regretted saying yes to the purchased, but the little guy helped me out in a pinch and I couldn’t be more l greatful. Also being plastic I won’t be able to break it.

My coffee cup went empty this morning because of another $70+ coffee maker dying. I have a percolator that I use for camping, but I'm thinking that shit takes too long for every day life. So I was thinking of getting a French press, do any of you use one of these? How do you like it?

I’m  not the biggest French press fan. Maybe because I’ve never given it a chance, or because often when I’m served coffee from one it tastes over extracted. People tend to let it steep forever. I also find them annoying to clean, with grounds becoming messy or sticky to the inside of the press. Lots of rinsing involved.

Personally I’m a fan of the V60 (or any pour over really) or the aero press. A pour over might to slower than what you’d like though. Rough guess is it takes me 5 minutes or so to brew, not including water boiling time.

I think you can make an aeropress in about two and a half minutes. Cleanup is super easy, just shoot the puck into your compost and rinse. Makes a nice cup and travels well on vacation. Sucks if you have people over and offer coffee though. I’ve spent well over a half hour making coffee for 10 people.

One variable I’d ask is volume. Do you want to make a couple cups at once, or just for yourself? If guests are over, are you likely to serve coffee?

I used an aero press for years, and take one camping/surfing too. For home, I got one of these https://www.rok.coffee/us-products/espressogc . Is great, like an aero press but slightly more refined, and you can get higher pressure without risking disaster.

It would typically be used for two people and 2 cups each per morning. This method (aeropress) is completely foreign to me, so please school me.

really like this topic. i've got a decent collection at home but i'm on the road so will post some when i get back home

Cool topic. At home and on the go, respectively. No connection to NYC just a mug I thrifted like 10 years ago that's stuck around. Yeti is the perfect size for my car cupholders.

is that the yeti with new lids? i'm OBSESSED with that cup if it is. i have this one. the top is the best. coffee stays perfect temp for really long time.

It's my favorite because it's accurate on both accounts.

i also got this one and love it. i like to use it on zoom meetings to let people know what's up.

I have a chemex, Moka pot, and French press

I have Moka pots and French presses in different sizes. Some for making coffee for two, or when I want a lot. And single cup sizes.

Moka is great. Grind the beans very finely. Fill the basket with hot water. Put it on the stove and let it bubble up. Mix it with a spoon then pour it immediately so it doesn't burn. I usually use Italian roast, very dark. I only rinse it so clean up is quick. I dump the Coffee grounds into the compost. Rinse it. Let it dry. The coffee resin gives the Moka flavor. I mention this because it's about as easy as making coffee in a french press. Kinda have to keep your eye on it so it doesn't burn.

French Press, it's easy. It is a bit of washing and getting the grounds out isn't extremely easy, but not much work. There is some sediment at the bottom and don't let it rest for too much. Use coarse grounds. I suggest getting one.

Pour over is the best. I would suggest Chemex of course or just a ceramic thing that rests on top of your cup. Clean up is the easiest. Just compost the filter and rinse/wash the holder. Use ground size for drip, between find and coarse. The downside to this is there are specific techniques and machines for boiling water to specific temperatures but you can also just do it very quickly and the coffee is still great. Downside, as mentioned it may take some time to get enough made for coffee for two or more. I do pour over when I have guests or want to treat myself to a nice cup.

Moka and French press are nice since there is no waste produced. Pour over is incredible as well. French press is what I usually use. Used mine this morning. Try it out!

nothing's been the since same

I wish I was a coffee drinker. It just makes me anxious and fucks up my stomach so I drink yerba mate instead. Here's the gourd I currently use:

Chemex/pour-over is where it's at. The extra five minutes is worth it. +1 for easy composting and cleanup.

Mom went to NZ and got me this tourist mug that became my absolute favorite for years and years . (Not my photo)

Recently dropped and shattered it while doing dishes and am currently using a soulless travel mug, despite generally only caffeinating at home

My dad collects coffee mugs like old ladies collect souvenir spoons. When my folks retired and downsized, he gave me this mug from our trip to Disney (20+ years ago) that I spent my entire childhood wondering why in the hell such a kick ass cup wasn't being put to use. I now drink coffee from it on the regs.

I've fucked with French presses, espresso machines, percolators, etc. and ended up landing on a ninja coffee maker. I appreciate the fancier techniques, but the convenience of this thing shines through. You can brew a whole pot, half pot, or just a travel tumbler. It also has brew strength options and a setting for over ice where it meters the coffee output so it doesn't instantly melt the ice. It's some boujee shit and its been running like a champ for 3-4 years with minimal cleaning/care.

I run my coffee with a splash of milk or cream (whichever is handy).

Found this at a thrift store in SF years ago, still my main squeeze. I usually have my morning coffee in my dimly lit living room.
