What is going on in the Seattle scene lately?

I went to the downtown park the other day and watched a group of locals threaten to fight another local who wasn't part of their crew. The potential fight was over one local blasting music from a large speaker and the other local complaining about the music. The local who had a whole crew with him didn't like the other local complaining about his music. The whole situation was uncomfortable and fucking sucked.

A few of the dudes are associated with shops located in the area. Sponsored, employed, and associated dudes are supposed to make their shop/scene look good, not bum everyone out.

The park is awesome but often seems to have a weird vibe.

Are you taking about that plaza at Seattle Center? If that's the one it definitely has an interesting vibe and most likely I think it's due to everyone from locals to out-of-towners going there. I try to go earlier before it gets too crowded. Kinda wack that is was skate shop people involved. I always try to support 35th when I'm in the area

Seask8 is weird vibes. Go early and it’s fine, but when it’s packed the vibe is not it. Too much of a scene. And kinda like an agro surf lineup or something.

Is this the one on the old tennis court? I haven't really had a problem here. Some of the obstacles are sketchy as fuck (one of them wobbles to the point where I think it is going to break if I look at it funny  ;D ), but the vibe was way more chill than the new park next to the Space Needle. I really like the park next to the Space Needle, but I've debated just not going back.

Just bumping this to see if there was anything new? Is longacres still around or gone for good? Any good covered spots with lights preferably near Auburn, Sumner, or Bonney Lake? I have some time to skate this Saturday night and hoping to find somewhere decent. I know there's the indoor parks but they close at 7 and I'll be out later. Was thinking of just going to C5 if there isn't anything else

Longacres is still going, they just put in a mini ramp recently. I don’t know of any covered spots, but there’a a few parks nearby with lights (University Place, Buckley, Muckleshoot). UP has some new concrete street features.

Having moved away recently, I miss Jack Block park on the daily. If you're into slappies, no better place to be imo.

LOL, we all have preferences so mostly having fun, but I've been to both of their locations, multiple times, and it's always been cold and gross. Mostly voicing my concern since food in Seattle is completely overpriced so it really hurts when you get burned trying a new spot.

Tacos and Beer is far from the world's best tacos, but their Cochinita Pibel is really good, and there's a park next door. Luna Azul had some decent food last time I went. Carta de Oaxaca is stupid expensive but has the best tacos I've had in the city.
Oh, the places you'll go.

Some of the best tacos in the city are at the taco truck at the Sinclair station just north of Jefferson park. Nothing special compared to cities with good Mexican food, but good and cheap for Seattle

Well I hit up the Sound Transit parking garages in Federal Way, Kent, and Auburn this past weekend for a flatground sesh. Lasted about 40 minutes at Federal Way before getting kicked out, security guard was really cool. Went to Kent station next and got kicked out in 20 minutes. Ended at Auburn station but didn't even try to skate as there were security guards patrolling every floor as soon as I pulled in. Probably should have just gone to C5 but it was already pretty late and I didn't know when my girls show would be over so didn't wanna go too far

Best area for garages is Redmond/bellvue near Microsoft. So many white collar businesses and on a weekend no one cares. Kind of a trek but usually plenty to choose from.

I am going to be staying pretty close to Marginal Way for a couple of nights next week. Aside from MW where else should I skate. Any evening spots?

I tend to like curbs, pool coping, banks, weird small tight transitions, banks and pool replicas...

Green Lake park and ride for curbs. Seattle Center (Seask8) might be up your alley too.

Marginal for the rest. South Park has some DIY stuff that you might enjoy.

Chehalis is worth the detour on the way up. Black Diamond and North Bend will also have what you want if you can get out of the city

Chehaliis and North Bend are def my list but its a family trip and not sure I can swing detours this time. If I can a couple of two hour sessions in, I'll be stoked.

If you go to South Park and Jack Block, you might as well stop by Delridge and take a look at the SW Genesee St. hill bomb you'll recognize from videos.

Note that the roads are especially confusing around the port. Let your phone help you.

I love Seattle, reminds me of Vancouver, Prince Edward Island.
I was there when my Sister got married in the Mormon Temple there.
PS. My brother n I could not see our sister get married because we didn't have Temple Recommendations haha

The fish market though is what impressed me most.
How do they cut the fish in the air like that , blown away n all the dirt cheap Mariners Pro fit caps , just every thing plus being a Nirvana fan I'd try n find places I thought Kurt Cobain might have frequented.
