I can't remember what part it was (I think it was recent and a "legend" skater), but it was a fucking Bob Seger song. God I fucking hate Bob Seger, I don't care if it was an ironic choice or not.

BDK skated to a instrumental version of 'still the same', it wasn't that bad

(2nd song)

i know there's no love for pretty sweet, i didn't have any for it either - but cory kennedy skating to night moves was pretty cool to me.

you would think Nirvana would get more airplay. only parts i could think of was stefan janoski in Expedition (seemed great in that one) and also trainwreck inbloom (also good)
Nirvana songs are expensive as fuck even for movies and I feel like Cobain's estate would get extra litigious.  So that's that.

When I saw the title of this thread, I can't help to think why nobody has skated to it...

Real can probably afford it:

No one has successfully skated to Radiohead since Dill in Photosynthesis. Clive Dixon tried out "Creep", and seemed like SLAP mostly hated it. I didn't feel strongly either way about that, as "Creep" doesn't suggest how fucking great that band would become.

I always think this song would be sick in a skate part

There was a PJ Ladd edit on YouTube a long time ago that used that song.  Its not there anymore but it was sick.

country music?

I feel like country music is starting to become more popular in parts. From what I recall Thrasher has already released three parts this year that featured country songs.

I want to see a part set to Cruel Summer by Bananarama

Bananarama is sick. I'd like to see someone skate to this one...

Also, I don't think any song is taboo to skate to.

(2nd song)

The song BDK skates too came out in 1973, while the one Grant skates too in 1978. Sounds to me Bob Seger ripping off/getting very close too melody.

I think it would be awesome if someone skated to a face melting Phish jam circa '99 when they were all on drugs. NBD

big takeover, isnt that on knox godoy's part on baker 2g?  :o :o

Bo Turner used Ring of Fire on Timecode so conutry is not off the table

seems like drum and bass  / electronic music is a no-no, i acutally personally made my own drum and bass beats for the video i just put out i think it actually works quite well. i think a lot of ksaters just dont care for it.

Some other tempo electronic stuff like Burial, Fourtet, Bonobo (actually has been on some vids but so much more could be) would be really dope on skate video. Rattatat was on some vids real quick could use more airplay

anything top 40 from the currently era is generally taboo, but you can go like 1 generation back and its fine (sluggo boyce on RDS FSU 2002  ;D) they also did some great stuff with madonna in that video

cant think of any beatles song ever being used like as a direct song ? only one that comes to mind is the i am the walrus cover on Sorry.

have never seen weird Al on a skate vid but i have seen parody before (CB4 on Chocolate Tour Straight Outta Locash)
Alex Gall skated to slayer

There’s been a few. Gonz skated to the original walrus track in the 6040 vid. Quinn starr in the antisocial vid, I’m only sleeping. Gabriel Rodriguez in the 101 promo I think, sgt pepper. Virtual reality friends section, little help from my friends.

411vm 63 is one of my favorites because the entire thing is a rocafella soundtrack.

i regularly think about how sick a part to Scents & Subtle Sounds would be or Llama but it would have to be such a specific style of skating to work with a phish song and not be completely terrible
