Ryan Lay on Twitter says that his new board is 8.5" and 8.75", with apparently a 14.5" wheelbase, and should be available now.

I honestly thought he’d end up on Santa Cruz and I’m very glad I was wrong.

I think he's pretty close with Alex White and everyone at Krux. Honestly his persona as a lefty skater gels pretty well with that Krux is doing these days.

One of those great skaters who had languished with an incredibly lame sponsor for far too long.

All time is a big stretch. Considering we've all been unsure if Jerry was going to have a team or not. I'd even have Julian Davidson going from Element to Deathwish above this.

Good for Ryan. Just watched the part, and really enjoyed it, and will be going back to that part/having it in my rotation. All of a sudden his skating has become a lot more appealing to me now that he's not on Welcome, and skating those shaped boards. All been an interesting watch seeing this company go from Jerry just making some hats for his friends to a fully fledged board company, over what, 5 years now?

Out of all the companies that has been thrown out there for Glick, this one he actually fits on. Make the call Jerry.

I agree all-time is a stretch, but to play devils advocate

Being handpicked by Jerry as the first pro for one of skating’s most coveted brands didnt even seem to be on the table, so somehow seems greater than joining almost any team out right now.  Unless getting a bigger check from a Primitive or somehow getting on Palace or FA means more

Julian Davidson’s Element lineup was also pretty heavy until right before he left. Welcome teamwise is good but not on that Evan Smith/Mason/Nyjah/Tyson level

Going to Sci Fi Fantasy is a cool move, they have good graphics and everything Jerry does is the best. Hope it ends up in more sci fi Fantasy stuff coming out.

But I don't quite get why people shit on welcome. They have ok graphics, don't do any wacky collabs, have fairly original shapes, a pretty vanilla team but no one shitty. And they seem to be very popular, which is cool in my opinion that they've got where they have doing things a bit different? It's not to my taste, but I like to see a company with a more original aesthetic do well. Maybe I've missed something.

Is it true?  Or did you read it on the slap message board?

Welcome’s owner Jason is a somewhat controversial figure.  There was a big exodus including Nolan Johnson and the Frog guys years back.  Plus they take a lot of flack since to some they represent the quirky, shaped board trend and new smaller board companies chewing up sales from heritage brands

And I meant to agree Corey Glick would fit on Sci-fi Fantasy extremely well!

Palace started small but they got Lucien from element EU and Olly Todd from a lost direction stereo, and later Fairfax too.
