Thanks for the update, Frank. What’s you stack looking like?

I’m still feeling it out. The team Huffer I’m riding, has been really good to me.
So far I’m super invested in making it work for everything. Last sesh I managed to manual, Slappy, Ollie, and carve the bowl.

If you could only ever have one or two flip/spin tricks, which ones would it be?

Been swapping trucks on it, and now I’ve gotten really curious about other brands. Tried 159/169 and wound up back on 151 stage 4 because of the turn/wheelbite situation.

My short list is:
Ace AF1 66
Slappy lights 9”

Also they gotta take 55-56mm wheels, and not pitch me from the wheelbite. I’m somewhat against risers, but I’ll give it a shot, if it becomes the Goldilocks setup.

We must take this to it's logical conclusion. I will put the 8" trucks on the huuffer.

Holy typos... apologies to the Cvlt. Will post a pic of stash later to make up.

Loving the experimental truck talk... I might try my 161s on one at some point...

i have 2 sets of stage tens that measure 8.38 across that i always thought were 144s but your reply made me reassess what size my trucks were and it turns out stage 10 149's were 8.38 so i lied

they're 149s

sorry everyone

Well now I’m going to have to run 8.25s on a Huffer! The only set of that size I have on hand are Venture 5.6s. I’ll give it a whirl this weekend.

Ooof, man. They’re all lovely. I love the graphic on the Carnales one. That one need the wheel wells. Actually I need a wheel welled one. I could halfen my worries.

So from the truck talk after my post, I can pretty much see this board works with almost every truck 8.25”-9.125”. That’s insane. What a board, man, blows my mind.
Waiting anxiously for those reports to come in.

I’ll just have to suck it up and try shit out.
Truly, don’t worry, be happy.

I have skated 8" trucks on numerous 8.75's and 9's as well as Ace 44's on Huffers... So. Much. Fun. If the large discrepancy in size gets to you adding some wide spifires or something of that nature and 3 washers on the inside of the wheel can really widen your trucks alot.

Smallest I have gone so far is Ace Classic 44s (8.38" axles) and it was great with lil smokies spitfires...

The infiltrator in my stash is a Phawt aka a budget Huffer that cost me $42 straight from Craig. All other boards were from my local skate shops.

Best I’ve done is Venture 5.8s on a 9” popsicle and it was super fun.

I don’t think you’ll need risers. I prefer an 8.75 or even and 8.5 truck on my Huffers. But I think a 9 would work if you don’t mind a little hot rod. I don’t think it’ll poke out. It’s actually been a minute since I had a Huffer in hand but I think they’re around 8.75 over trucks. I’m sure someone here knows more definitively.

It's the classic yes it measures weird but you can't really tell by looking set up. Pretty much the same thing as 149s on 8.25s

Absolutely. 1/4” up or down isn’t a big deal.

Indy 169 (9.125”) with 58mm OG classics just barely pokes up front.  9” Aces with 54mm seems like it will be perfectly flush

I ran mine with AF1 66s and 55mm radials and there was a bit of wheel poking out in the front, pretty flush in the rear.

I ended up going down to 8.5" trucks and then eventually back up to 8.75" trucks which has been the sweet spot for me personally.

Didn't run any risers but ymmv.

9" trucks can work really well on the Huffer. If you score the newest one with wheel wells, the 9" trucks will also push the wheels out closer in line with the wells and then you really won't need risers.

Indy Stage 4 166s could be a part of a really nice Huffer undercarriage and I'm kind of regretting not getting these over Thunder 161s as my last truck purchase.

Generally speaking I'd say 8.75" are good starting point for new cvlt recruits, as that's about the width of the deck where the axles sit.

True. I have some 151s and they work good on a  Huffer but they ended up on a Natas re-issue with Big old OJ combos.

As others have said I want to start huffing but couldn’t do the long wheelbase.  Anything over 14.5 regardless of what trucks I have and I start to fall apart mentally

We hear this often over at Cvlt Compound. All I can say is, the tail length and shape will negate your WB fears... it just works... the balance and ratio will keep you stable yet free.

I too considered stg 4 166, but thought to myself that the 151 is almost 2 pounds of trucks on my board, at 407 grams a piece.

Hence why I’m looking into 9” alternatives. I probably spend 90% of my skating on 3’ mini ramp, or 5’-6’ bowls.
One in while I dork around on some flat, and little street course stuff. Manuals, and Ollie’s. A homie built a curb at our indoor, but for me it’s too tall to Slappy grind.

They’re super heavy.

I have some Slappy 9” hollows (KP and axle) on one of my bigger boards and they don’t feel super heavy at all. I have not weighed them though.
