that was a great watch, i wish it was longer - 15 minutes for each jam wouldn't have offended me.

braden is all time.

would've been cool to have the bust or bail thing where you do reward tricks that have already been done specifically as the first challenge and then move into nbds.

would've loved to see ishod and tiago in there too - especially given nyjah and shane and kirby largely not skating.

also, it would've been cool to see what lines these guys could've done with the top set there as well.
[close]

Kirby and Shane for sure, but you call switch heel front tail not skating?

i did say "largely" not skating and yeah, while the trick is super gnarly i would consider only doing one trick during a jam contest kind of not skating, you know what i mean? for such an iconic spot, the whole recreation/event was a little too short and sweet. even that they didn't get to warm up/warm the ledge up and now it's going to be demolished after 1 hour of skating...wild.

braden I’m going to be keeping an eye out for.
That was some insanely good skateboarding.

Little bummed that Kirby didn’t put down more. They are in my top tier list of skills and styles.

That is Guy doing the switch noseblunt at 2:06, right? For some reason I always thought it was Robbie McKinley until just now. I guess because I could not compute that it was switch. Unreal.

This is so California Skateparks/ street league - I don’t know/ understand…

The idea to recreate legendary spots is nice.
Good job on this one.
Woud like to see for example some Real Carlsbas/ China Banks/ Wallenberg/love park/  Hubba hideout /or 3rd and army etc. etc. replicas in a skatepark.

Also like the jam format.

But giving each slot such limited time, having just such small selected group of
Skaters - and having that spot just for one event - and thrashing it - doesn’t make any sense.

Imagine a bust or bail thrasher style jam format
how much more Hoban coud have done.

Imagine instead of tearing it down we woud have all that past street league, park series, X-games etc. etc. Contest Parcours as a public park. May with annual events like in formula 1 with race tracks like  Monaco, Nurburgring or Abu Dhabi- you have the big event - but over the year it’s open for the public.
Or like famous / iconic tennis courts - like Wimbledon.
And then even if you make an Sam Diego / New York / LA / Philadelphia invitational event - do a week prior some open competition for everyone- and gave some wildcards for underdogs and newcomers.
Woud be much more interesting to watch.

This is the concept of invitational / street league- you
Get paid for show off. It’s fair for everyone got paid for „creating“ the content of a skate session - not only for the result. This is one of the few advantages from street league. If I go to watch a contest - I want to see some top guys like Ishod or Louie Lopez and want to see them skate the course- and it doesn’t matter if they win or not. If they have a good time through practice - but didn’t have a good run - it’s still entertaining to me…

But if they didn’t „feel it“ that day they shoud not need to risk it only to pay off the traveling cost - like contests back in the days…

I wish Clipper was in a position for BH to do something down that.   Seems more suited to his talents.   Hubba almost felt too small for him after he crushed the UCI ledge previously

Buddy  of mine that works at the production company that films and shit for SLS (which is also owned by Dyrdek by the way) told me the built those Hubbas exactly 25% smaller than the real ones.

Otherwise they were scared people wouldn't land shit. And I guess more tricks were landed in 2 hours than in 20 years on the real deal proves this.

Also the original bricks were way sketchier.

Nice idea still even though Greco did it already with that LA square rail in his House of Hammers in like 2012?

You were not allowed to do impossibles back then…..

That’s true. Impossible was cast aside. I believe it was because they are not a safe trick on a 7.5. Especially down things.
Impossible on flat trick kills boards. Also Gumby tail.

Impossible is my favorite trick. It’s always been my favorite trick. The ff impossible got killed because most people look ugly af doing it. The pressure flip because it is too easy to do and most people can’t pop them like I could.

Impossible bag lady grind is way too easy for mad props. I feel like people shouldn’t gas that trick at all.

That was the first trick I ever saw someone write on a curb in Marblehead in like 1990 something. Was on the National Grand micro curb. This kid Frank put it down and he couldn’t even kick flip at all.

On top of all that no one wanted to be here that day. It was obvious af.

Nyja got the usual cock stroke for mediocrity. I expected this would have be an easy win for him but nah. He said hubbas ain’t my bag baby.  Blah blah blah.

I noticed that the judges seemed to give Braden less props than the others. I think he was too casual or he thought the format was kook shit. I personally think that there’s some behind the scenes feelings going on.

He did go out of his way to do K’s trick and flip in to it before it was done.
Idk Koston but he probably was feeling like this is NOT hubba Hideout. This is hubba horrendous!!!
I know nothing that happened today is even close to a real clip on the real Hubba.

The tricks got less and less woah till people was doing fitty and switch nose. Stoke steady decline from the moment these kooks was like “ agh Uncle Rod ummm where’s the metal edges?

I would have gotten mad. I’m kinda mad rn. Yo metal ledges are for rollerblades dude.

Fs flip fakie nose grind is the easiest one to do though if we’re being honest.

I guess the hell ride excitement aspect of landing on a homie is the selling point. It triggers the same feeling in me as stage dives and slam dancing does in me. It’s like some tribe shit. Normal people wouldn’t understand this probably.

They didn’t even use the Fred footage. Thrasher definitely would have I believe. I can here the sabbath rn.

1. Definitely the worst executed of the ones landed

2. Coming from Ryan that was definitely off

3. Slight disappointment with the lack of reference to abd's when they were landed. Bryan Herman kf fs ng, Brian Anderson front blunt, etc. plus lack of Freddy footage

looks the same to me *shrug* dashawn jordan has mega pop it looked like it was really maxing out his 3 flip. a lot of guys were struggling to get up on to it.

the fact the braeden did that much stuff in the like 20 minutes he got to skate it almost kinda just tells you right there they didnt even really need to skate it any longer than that. which is sort of wild

yeah for some guys they defiintely cant just go to that spot on any given day and put down. for even the most professional guys there they only got 1 or 2 really good tricks which is impressive in itself. there was a lot of serious GOATs in that lineup too. some skaters just need more time / the right atmosphere to do what they need to, or its just not the right day. not feeling it. maybe not even sure what to try or its just not calling them like it was for other ppl

Braden did 9 tricks in roughly 15 minutes. And almost all were NBD’s. That’s fucked
