You may be joking but I've worked construction in both. Vans suck, es accel og have been the best. I usually switch shoes about every two months for work when I lace up freshies. But I've had pairs of accel ogs last on jobsites up to 4 months or so before the sole started breaking down and splitting.

Once mud and clay get stuck in there between like the part your foot steps on and the outer cupsole surrounding it they're done. Vans don't do that but are generally uncomfortable and offer zero protection or arch support.

No joke, I work remodeling (mostly paint/wallpapering)  and pretty much rock skate shoes for grip on roofing. I just imagine Vans melting something fierce on a hot summer roof.

DC Mantecas are holding up quite nice so far.

How do they skate tho. I've never messed with a dunk but they are the DC dunks. Tryna get away from éS. DB is transphobic and so is one of his riders so as an ally I'm not really w that.

I honestly couldn’t tell you with this particular model. I skated well on the DC x Bronze 56k Clocker 2’s, and the Lynx work out well for me. I genuinely love everything DC is doing right now, and the puffy shoe revival.

That said, I’ll champion NB all day, and am fond of Cons too (except the AS-1 which I’m skating now, and sucks… sorry Alexis, love you but..).

Tried the as-1, they aren't a skate shoe. Sold them to my friend and he skated them for like three weeks but had nothing to say about them. For him that usually means they sucked.

They do look dope. I toured a shop team around my city from the east coast and they had the suede unreleased versions and they look puffier and a little better so I might try the non leather version before I hate on them entirely. Love Alexis tho.

At least some of the PALS are out there, working like it’s the 1920s instead of bitching about laborers.
Looking at you, diet Tekashi.
I’m proud of these hard working homies, even if they are noisy as fuck & I can hear them from upstairs.

I wanna play you in a game of SKATE for the right to continue talking shit on me… You think you got me?

Admittedly I haven’t skated the suede incarnation yet. I have the black pair, so they could be ok. My main gripe after the insole is how thin the leather material is. So maybe the suede’s are ok?

I will say this. I live not far from Alexis’ shop, and the employees are super friendly and helpful. I genuinely love the aesthetic of the shoe, it’s just.. yeah.

This thread is taking some turns. At least now we’re back to Alexis!

All this talk about ladders has me thinking about Jackie Chan. If only someone had mentioned ropes and chains hanging from various hooks in an empty warehouse, on top of not wanting any trouble, then we’d have ourselves a topic!

NB 440s is honestly all you need. Shit I even do sprints and play basketball in them.

What kind of redneck outfit do you work for where they allow you to wear skate shoes on a construction site instead of steel toe boots? This site just gets worse and worse.

Some people work for themselves and make more money that way. No steel toe required. You'd know that though if you weren't some classist douche bag.

Yesterday I scraped, caulked, and repainted window frames on a 100 year old house and I wore flip flops. The horror.

Steel toes are super clunky, I’d hate to be on the 30’ in boots.

This is the answer though. I don’t work construction, but my job often requires construction-esque activities. I’m self employed so I can wear whatever I like. Which happens to not be boots.

Can someone tell those guys up in the skyscrapers that it's better to wear skate shoes than clunky workboots?

The first thing that comes to mind when I see a construction crew and the people are wearing skate shoes is Whiskey Tango, my dude. It's not the most dignified job in the world but at least take some pride in your appearance.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see a construction crew and the people are wearing skate shoes is Whiskey Tango, my dude. It's not the most dignified job in the world but at least take some pride in your appearance.

End product def matters way more than what shoes you're wearing when you do the work, my guy. I'd also love to know what work you find dignified.

It is one of the most dignified. In my eyes anyway. Work up a roof for 8 hours a day. There is serious dignity in that.

More than being a influencer or whatever dogshit people aspire to these days.

Also do you know what there is no dignity in. Milking a skate career. Not just Beatrice but anyone taking a cheque and doing jackshit.

Is ladderposting an attempt to astroturf disinterest in beatrice to get vans to quietly release keepsake online?

if so i'm here for it

I just wanna know how shit Vans are for roofing jobs. I only work in cupsoles.  8)

What kind of redneck outfit do you work for where they allow you to wear skate shoes on a construction site instead of steel toe boots? This site just gets worse and worse.

Some people work for themselves and make more money that way. No steel toe required. You'd know that though if you weren't some classist douche bag.

I paint and hang wallpaper my guy. I think the last thing any of my clients care about is what I’m wearing on my feet.

I say this as a third generation laborer with the highest ratings in my area.

Let’s just blame it all on Bill/Dill and call it a day.

a grunt  a mudhog  a slimedog
a simple servant  a hired hand

“Come in here dear boy, have a gnar, you’re gonna go far!”

A similar theme to this picture, but with each person’s head in the above person’s ass would make a solid graphic. I’m thinking Jacob Ovgren could execute this vision precisely.
