As I have been more vocal lately and sharing my takes on shit that has been going down with Max Wettstein, USA Skateboarding, working on my book and planning a new interview show ... grass roots, Zoom style ... I can't help but keep circling back to the fact that I feel we (people within the industry and the know, so to speak) need to discuss skateboarding more honestly ... and that not everything is a "shots fired" or "takedown" or a beef ... As a long time fan of Stern, I have always appreciated his ability to observe and critique, but also have a guest on who he has done so with, and both are mature enough to understand what it is and be friends still. Not everything has to be taken SO personally.

Be honest with us right now. How do you feel about Dylan’s after stee arm?

There are a few times when it was a little over the top … like held too long or something … but overall … style god and shit’s gone downhill ever since we lost him. So much trash looking gear and skateboarding out there these days. I felt like his mere presence created some sort of community-wide quality control or something and people have lost sight that looking appealing (style and gear-wise) is an important element to skateboarding. Seems to me dressing to look outrageous and get noticed has taken precedent over dressing to actually look tasteful and good.

Maybe I sound like a boomer I dunno.
